Adela and Finn have questions about their fathers, the dark tunnel that runs through their lives and the creatures that inhabit it. Although magically gifted, both will need to grow more powerful in order to face the expected and unexpected challenges of the North and its new and old friends and enemies. They have a follower with strange prints and they follow someone who leaves no prints. However, their greatest threat arises out of Finn's own careless actions that change everything.

Ronald H. Reynolds, a former cave guide, lecturer on birds, jungle dweller, and zoologist, changed his life in order to support eight sons and a daughter. After decades of writing for judge and jury as a lawyer, he is back at his old habits of daydreaming now that his children have taken their own paths.
