I hate leaving negative reviews. I appreciate the hard work and dedication that an author puts into a novel. :-(

But, this book was terrible. I could barely make it through the 1st chapter. The story lacked flow. I thought it to be choppy.

A raw look at those left behind after a suicide. An emotional read so be prepared to cry. The author has done a fabulous job of helping you to understand the feelings and emotions of a heartbroken woman after her brother takes his own life.
A journey of overcoming tragedy and looking forward to a future filled with love.

This is a story I was hooked on from the start. The writing, the emotions, the characters; all of them, just called to a part of me and I couldn’t put it down. A story of abuse, love, loss, heartbreak and ‘Regrets’; A.Dawid does not hold back and throws you right in to the thick of it. She keeps you reading until the last word and even then leaves you with wanting more.

After a devastating tragedy in her life, Tara David is left flitting through day to day feeling completely lost and alone. Always ending up falling for the wrong guy, Tara vows not to fall in love again; to keep herself guarded so as to not find herself getting hurt...again. That is until one walk and one chance meeting in a park.

Nolen Wrexham has his own ‘Regrets’ in life, but one thing he doesn’t regret is plucking up the courage to talk to Tara at the park. From that moment on he is determined to break down her walls, bring brightness to her eyes and be the man he knows she deserves. He’s kind, sensitive and loving but is also the strong and dominant male when he needs to be.

Tara and Nolen’s relationship blossoms throughout the book, and they find themselves quickly falling for one another.

“Tara, I really do think I’m falling in love with you. From the moment at the dog park, I knew I had to know you. Let me know you.”

But Tara still has some scepticism. She vowed not to open her heart again, but Nolen is evoking a lot of feelings within her which quite frankly, is scaring the shit out of her.

“I’m scared Nolen. I don’t want to get used to having you here, and then have you leave, and I don’t know what I’d do without you.”

“Tara, I’m not going anywhere I promise you that. We will get through this all together, and if there ever comes a time when we don’t agree, we will sit down and talk about it, and work through it.”

Will Tara lose her inhibitions, take a chance with Nolen and open her heart to love again?

“Keep moving forward, because backward is not an option.”

I felt as I got further and further in to the story, A.Dawid’s writing got better and better and could tell it was written from the heart. The emotions just leap from the page and get lodged in your heart. I fell in love with Nolen and Tara and hoped they would finally let go of the ‘Regrets’ of their past and find the happiness they deserve together.

A beautiful, personal and heartfelt debut from an author I’m very much looking forward to reading again.

Bravo, Ms Dawid, bravo. And thank you for sharing such a personal story with us. It really was beautiful and so emotional.

This book was fantastic. The main female character Tara David has been in an abusive relationship for the past 6 years. One night after Bryan attacks her she calls her brother for help. He comes and tells her that she needs to pack her stuff cause he is taking her home. She moves back into her childhood home and continues going to work at a grocery store. She is happier with her life away from Bryan. She begins going out with friends again and meets a boy, Tosh. The have a friends with benefits kind of relationship which works for her right now as she is weary of a real relationship cause of her past. Her whole world changes one night. Tara and her brother have this amazing relationship. He is younger than her but acts like the big brother. He is always there for her no matter what. Until one night when he takes his own life. Tara is devastated by his death. She winds up trying to take her own life because of it. She feels like all she has ever known is pain. How is she supposed to go on with out her brother? Tosh helps her through as best as he can but theirs was never meant to be a serious relationship and he has to go back to school. Another loss for Tara, easier than the others but still a loss. Then she meets Nolen who is unlike any guy she has ever meet. Can she try to be in a relationship with him or will her past keep coming back to haunt her?
I loved this book so much. I was immediately pulled into the story and couldn't stop reading. The characters are amazing and go through so much. I was pulling for Tara to give Nolen a chance and see that not all men were like Bryan. What she went through with him was horrible. To finally get away and then lose the person she was closest must have been worse. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. Congrats A. Dawid and keep them coming.
I was given this book in return for an honest review.

Every now and then, a gem of a story is released that sparkles above all others. 'Regrets' sparkles like a diamond, with its awe-inspiring story and characters that are very real. It is a story that deals with a lot of serious issues but in a way that is sensitive, yet emotional. It doesn't shirk from the hard truths but it is equally a story that is both sweet and sexy.

Tara David's life has not been easy one and her choices have led her to this point. Tara has to overcome her past experiences with men and the tragic loss of her brother before she can begin to live again and open her heart to the possibility of love. Many of her choices cause her lots of regrets but they lead her to Nolen Wrexham. Could he be the man to break down the wall she has built around her heart? Or will he be like all the other men in her life and break her heart?
Despite trying to rebuild her life, Tara's inner strength can be seen clearly through the decisions that she makes throughout the book. She is sassy, independent and stronger than she thinks.

Nolen is one hot addition to 'Regrets'. He is the perfect blend of strong, dominant male, who is equal parts sensitive, respectful and generous. He takes the time to get to know what is important to Tara and doesn't make lavish gestures to try and win her over. He is a man with his own past and his own regrets.

'Regrets' is a first class debut from an author who so obviously writes from the heart. I was pulled into the story and the went through a raft of emotions. The writing has a rawness to it that is due to the emotions it exhibits. I laughed and I cried. I fell in love with Nolen and I wanted Tara to find her place in the world. It is sweet and sexy. It is raw and it is beautiful. It is an amazing ride and one that I would be happy to take again and again.

This book comes with a warning : if you are not into books that mention abuse you might not enjoy this as there are two bits of it in this book.

While this book was really good it was way too short. I know there is a follow up coming soon but it still was too short for all of the things that happen in this story. There seem to be something new happening every few pages without them being really able to be developped. It jumps from one thing to another without really any connection which is quite confusing at times. The insta love and the pace at which the relationship unfold is way too fast even for a book. It didn't bother me that much but was still a bit too much. The characters are sweet and funny and touching. I really wasn't expecting the massive twist in the beginning of the story that totally threw me off guard and was both heartbreaking and a huge turn for the story. This story deals with brother/sister love, heartbreak, loss, death, regrets, bad relationships and trust issues, all into one quick read that will leave you wanting to know more and what will happen to the two main characters. Totally recommend if you are looking for a quick emotional read with a few really hot and steamy sex scenes.

When I first picked this up, I wondered if it might in some way pertain to the author in some way. Not that the story itself was real, but more based on real life events kind of thing and by the time I finished it, I had gotten the answer to my question or wondering as it were.
That being said, I liked this story. There was a point near the beginning where I really connected with the main character and felt the pain of her loss and it tugged at my heart. I can't say I've gone through it myself, but knowing the pain of loss in more general terms, I could identify with some of the ways she acted and reacted.
The issue I had the most difficulty with and why this isn't a 5* read for me and why I also debated how to rate it quite frankly, is the lack of connection I felt toward the relationship Tara builds with Nolen. Yeah it moved fast, that wasn't really my issue. I just didn't connect to them as a couple because all they seemed to do was sleep together. Even though the story was primarily centered on Tara and her journey, I guess I expected more substance from the main relationship. Otherwise, this was a truly enjoyable read for me.

Regrets is a story of love, loss, dependency, growth, and learning to let go. Tara David has lived her life alongside her brother, Justin, until a tragedy occurs, which forces Tara to reexamine her entire life.

Tara had always picked the "wrong" kind of guy...she always knew she deserved more, but, for some reason, she didn't allow herself to open up and find the one man who would treat her the way she deserved to be treated. When tragedy hit Tara's life, she was determined to turn her life around and live her life for her.

Nolen Wrexham is a single father who meets Tara, and desperately wants to break down her walls, finally. He realizes that Tara has major trust issues with men, so he knows he has to work hard to make her see that he just might be the man she has been waiting for. Will Nolen be able to break through Tara's insecurities so they might have a life together?

This is A.Dawid's 1st book...it is a story of love and desperation, which will reel you in as soon as you start reading it. I look forward to the continuation of Tara and Nolen's story.

Regrets doesn't hold back anything from the very beginning. It's extremely emotional and it's those raw emotions that draw you in and don't let you go until the last page. Tara has regrets, and many of them are men she's dated in the past. Broken hearted after her brother commits suicide, Tara is able to find love again, first with a four legged friend named Petey and then with Nolen and his daughter Ally. Will Tara finally be able to let go of her regrets in life and truly be happy, as her beloved brother would want?
Regrets is the debut novel for talented wordsmith A. Dawid. It is a personal and touching story of moving on and living life after the tragic loss of a loved one. The story will evoke a variety of emotions from the reader from beginning to end and will make you want to see Nolen, Tara, and Ally live happily ever after with all their regrets behind them.

I got to 70% and decided life was to short to finish a boring, flat, no substance book. I hated the writing style but commend the author for sharing her story. This book just didn't do it for me. Sorry, needs work for me to recommend spending time to read.
