Four complete novels. Each filled with intrigue, danger, and true love.
Confronting a Rake
A straight laced governess and a handsome rake. Opposites most definitely attract.
Devlin Beaumont’s liked being a rake. Whiskey, women, and fun, what more could a man want? All that ends with an unexpected title, three young wards, and a beautiful governess. If that wasn't enough, there is the minor detail that someone is trying to kill him.
Rebecca Jones has to be ever mindful of society’s expectations. As the governess to three young girls, she must set an example. A requirement that is sorely tested with the arrival of the new Duke.
Charming A Rake
Rich, powerful, and a rake, Nathanial Caldwell is every woman’s dream.
Beautiful, disdained, and impoverished, Lady Alice Weston is desperate. When offered an opportunity to guide the sister of Nathanial Caldwell through her first season, Lady Alice feels as if her prayers have been answered. All she’s ever wanted was a chance for redemption.
Of course, working so closely with a rich, handsome man can create a whole new set of problems. Can Lady Alice obtain her dream. And if so, at what price.
Catching A Rake
Olivia Caldwell always believed the man to be insufferable. Unfortunately, he was her brother’s best friend, therefore unavoidable. And while Lord Bradford might be opinionated, domineering, and a notorious rake. He was also the only man in England who was able to rescue her from kidnappers. A fact that was going to lead to her worse nightmare. A marriage of convenience to the one man who she could not control.
Lord Bradford knew the woman was demanding, opinionated, and a thorn in his side since she was a little girl. Now, beautiful, charming, and with a tongue sharper than a Sheffield blade, she was a man’s worse nightmare. A woman who could capture his heart.
But, society's rules demanded he wed this hellion. His only hope, have her surrender to him. If he failed, he would surely surrender his heart to her, and that way lay madness.
Challenging a Rake
Miss Amanda Waters knew full well that a rake should not be trusted. But when a severely wounded Lord Warwick crashed through her front door, bleeding, and asking her to keep his secret. What choice did she have?
Heaven help her if anyone learned she was nursing a British Lord back to health in her upstairs bedroom. Her friends would disown her and most of the ton would think her a fool. But when she discovers Lord Warwick’s true mission, she has no choice but to help.
Lord Warwick never expected to need the help of someone like Miss Waters. But his mission was too important. England’s very survival rested in the balance.
The fact that it might cost him his heart was immaterial. Somethings cannot be denied.
I've read books by this author for a while now, though I think these are the first Regency books of his that I have read. Like many of his stories, I like the plot and characterization, I had issues with some of his grammar, punctuation, and usage—which were enough to be distracting. What he does for some reason is make dependent clauses their own sentence. Dependent clauses are called *dependent* for a reason! They need to be in the same sentence as the clause they depend on. Sometimes this caused minor confusion, but not all the time, though it was always jarring. Other than that, I thought that the four stories in this book were well done, and there were even interconnections between them. They also had a bit of suspense, which seems like a fun new thing that is happening a lot in Regency stories these days. I did think at times he had the heroines be too wishy-washy (or both characters making wild mental leaps), which I never like. I prefer my heroines to be strong at all times, even if they're wrong or even if it is all just mental! I particularly loved the governess heroine of the first story, as she seemed unflappable on the outside, helping in situations that would even leave some of us modern women unsure what to do and how to best act. If you enjoy well-written Regency romance and suspense, you may very well enjoy this collection with four stories.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

I had not read any books by this author, but will definitely look for his books in the future. These books were very good and I loved all the characters and the interactions between them. Each book was special but I think my favorite was Amanda and Warrick's story, an unlikely match. There was mystery suspense and of course love, eventually in each story. Take the chance and read this series, lots to enjoy. I am off to read the next in the series, just released.
A Rake's Redemption Box Set includes Confronting A Rake, Charming A Rake, Catching A Rake, and Challenging A Rake.
I loved these Regency romantic suspense stories. The characters in each story are well developed and interesting. The plot of each story captured my interest from the first page and kept me turning the pages through to the last. There is danger, intrigue, suspense, and romance. This is a perfect weekend binge-read.
Yum, yum, yum is all that needs to be said about this delicious collection of captivating stories featuring brilliant characters and interesting plots. I am now a bonafide, banner-waving member of the G.L. Snodgrass fanclub and can't wait to bingeread everything else she's written.

I thoroughly enjoyed this set of books.. A mixture of sadness, misunderstanding , laughter, murder, treason and love.. All started by a wager between friends on who would be the first to marry...
I do wish you wouldn't use Mommy and Daddy Regency term is Mama and Papa Just one of the annoying expressions that spoil the flow of otherwise excellent stories Daughters of Earls aren't called Lady Weston there first name Lady Alice
