Malcolm X's everlasting legacy is celebrated through his quotes, speeches and letters. Even to this day, many of his views remain relevant and his militant words still serve as a guide for those eager to spark a revolution.
This book was a solid read. It was basically a transcript of Malcolm's speeches. I wish there was more commentary to go along with them. Also, seemed to be quite a few errors missed in editing. Doesn't hurt the flow of the book but enough to where it's noticeable and could use a touch up. Overall though, glad I came across this book as many of Malcolm's words still ring true today even though he's been deceased for half a century now. Unity is key!!
Reading his words brought enlightenment to me. I was a boy when he was alive and spreading his word. I had no idea that his words were so powerful and made so much sense. I am going to read everything on him and convince others to do so, the man was a genius.
The actual content of the book is probably more along a 4-star rating (making an exception for some of the ridiculous precepts of the Nation of Islam during Malcolm's pre-mainstream Islam days), but a surprising amount of typos and misspellings bring the book (at least the Kindle version) down to a 3-star rating.
Being a Muslim by born and spent time in Madrasa there are various issues propagated by Brother Malcolm on Islam, especially, the history, that I don't agree with individually.
But there are a lot of issues and ideas that he believed in and stood for that share with what I personally do. I found this not as a book but rather a collection of speeches that Brother Malcolm ever made in his effort to awaken his people. All the speeches are an interesting reads.
