Seventeen year old Merissa Peterson, called 911 to report that her family has been slaughtered in a home invasion. Only six year old Sydney Peterson survived the attack. Can Marissa help Liz Stone, the Chief of Police of the newly formed Dewledge Police Department, find out what happened to her family? The people of Dewledge shake their heads in alarm, and say, “Things like that don’t happen here.”
Good homey police procedural. I've been reading the whole series and enjoyed each book so far. The author improves with each plot. Some of the answers to the questions are a tiny far fetched, but it keeps the reader guessing. I was pleased to see that my previous complaint of poor editing was not pertinent in this book. I only noticed one or two errors in the whole of the novel.
