Okay I have to get this off my chest!
AUTHOR BEHAVING BADLY!!!
To the author, I'm sorry I didn't like your book, quite frankly I wish I could unread it, so I wouldn't have to deal with your abuse. I saw your comments and decided to ignore them, you then proceeded to engage in a verbal spar with my friends. I decided to block you. This is my review and my friends are free to comment as they please.
Again, I didn't like your book. It happens. Instead of posting a link to my review on Facebook, how about you forget about it, move on and be done with all of this. I certainly am.

It seems my one liner may have been offensive to some. Firstly let me clarify that I did not write "What the hell was that????" to mock the author. I wrote it because that was literally my reaction after I finished reading the book. My "one liner" is my opinion and no one elses. That being said my 1 star rating was not the first. I don't relish writing negative reviews, I tend to shy away from them. What I will say is that I'm always honest when relaying my opinion about a book. I'm not being vicious or hateful.
What made me pick this book up?
I'm a cover whore and that cover deserves 5 stars regardless of the content and secondly it was the blurb, this line to be exact.

What happened?
Here's the short version:
Great idea. Great cover. Brilliant blurb. Poor execution.
Common sense is something I value in my characters, and unfortunately the heroine had none. Plot wise the story was weak, I found myself rolling my eyes countless times. I only kept reading because it was so short but I never really connected with the writing.
The ending?
I'm sorry but I found it ridiculous. This book was odd.

Rating: 2 Stars.
Review:
Save Riley is considered a dark, new adult erotic romance told from dual point of views, but primarily for the first half, is told from the female main character. I’m not sure it’s in the right categories as far as Amazon and Goodreads go, but for the sake of argument that’s what I’m going to list it as in the review.
Having written painful subjects such as sexual abuse and suicide, though in a much different way than this book, I’m no stranger to subjects that are a little hard to read about. It’s why I picked this book up to begin with. I will read anything, give it a chance, good or bad. The author having put their time and energy into it means I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I did not go into this book blind. At least not entirely. I went in with the knowledge that it was going to be dark. I’m just also the first to admit that I had no idea just how dark.
Before I delve into my overall thoughts on the book, I will mention the things that really did stand out. The things that gave this review stars.
The writing style by the author. It’s fantastic. Very clean, concise and easy to follow. Even the pacing was fantastic. Brilliant actually. It all moved very quickly, though for me, it moved a little too quickly at the very beginning. (Around the 20% mark). So kudos to the author for those things.
She’s also extremely gifted at writing an absolute psycho. So in that regard, my hat is off to her as a writer because with what I pulled from reading this book, she nailed it. The process for that though, I gotta say, I don’t think I envy her. The mindset she would have had to dive into in order to make it appear the way it did, just wow.
So if I liked all of those things about the book, why is the rating the way it is? Well, here’s where I tell you, but also say that this is my personal and honest opinion of what I read and should be looked at with a grain of salt if really intense dark reads are your type of thing.
I should have seen at the 25% mark what kind of book this would be, but the blurb (read it folks), already gives you a pretty good look at what you’re in for. It really does. So I kept going because given that the title of the book was named Save Riley, I had to figure that in the end that is exactly what would have happened. Someone would have come for this poor girl, turned things around, or even that there would have been a moment of clarity for the “hero” and he would have changed the way things were happening.
None of that happened. None of it. I suppose in the end with how the book ended, she was indeed saved, but not in the way you would expect her to be in a romance. Even a dark romance, or one that’s erotic. There was nothing remotely romantic about this.
There is no HEA. This didn’t even feel fictional to me. It felt real. Imagine being in the room watching these unspeakable things happening to a girl, by a twisted guy and being frozen and unable to do anything to stop it, but wanting to reach out, call the cops, bring an end to it. That was me reading this. It was a graphic look at a lot of the stuff you see on the news and I suppose for me personally, that’s the one horror I can’t stand.
Rape, Torture, Murder, among a bunch of other truly horrendous and unspeakable things take place within this book and it was just too much for me to take. It still is days later. Maybe that’s what makes a good book for people, but for me personally, reliving the horror I read about in a book days after isn’t. Maybe I’m just defective though. Who knows?
I initially felt for the victim Riley (heroine?), I did because what she found herself in, was truly heartbreaking and my heart went out to her, but by the end, I had no respect for her, couldn’t understand her motivations (because it wasn’t Stockholm running this girl), and I just wanted her done. Jax was the same way. Not one redeeming quality about him. Loathed him the entire way through, but the worst part for me had to be the big reveal of his motivations and what really drives him at 80-85% of the way through. Too late. I might have been able to buy some form of redemption in this had it been attempted earlier…maybe, but waiting that long to give a reason for it? No way. It doesn’t fly for me. I just wanted that psycho locked up or dead at that point.
I’m all for shock value, I am, but this might have taken it a bit far.
Anyone who reads this review and feels as though they still want to take the chance (which I would never tell you not to do, unless I know it’s not your thing for sure), proceed with caution, that’s all I got. You may find it works for you. It just didn’t for me.

This girl right here is a dark romance junkie. And this book right here is like sweet, forbidden, deliciously delectable candy. The pull of it was magnetic, the lure undeniable. Once I picked up this book (with the intent to just start reading one chapter I might add), I was lost. Save Riley got its hooks into me and I was helpless to escape until I had consumed every last part of the story. The plot was a familiar one; a dominant, controlling man abducts an innocent girl to keep for his very own. To train and mold to perfection, to cater to his every demand and desire. Think that you can figure out the twists and turns, the outcome of Save Riley before you read it? I sure thought I could, and as an avid reader of dark romance, I usually am pretty bang on. Yolanda Olsen has wiped me of that confidence, stolen it right out from under me as she blew my fucking mind.
Riley is your typical sweet, innocent young girl. A trusting soul right down to her bones. Spending her days working in a bookstore and her nights calmly relaxing in her own home, she’s an uncomplicated girl who is satisfied with her life. When her path unexpectedly crosses with an insanely handsome, charming man with a sinful accent - the stirrings she feels inside are unrecognizable. His pursuit of her intrigued and frightened her, awakened feelings she didn’t know existed. Her trusting nature betrays her however, when she foolishly accepts help from this mysterious stranger. A decision she should have thought harder about as it irrevocably changes the course of her life. We don’t get a lot of backstory on Riley’s life, and while I wished for more at the time, after the fact, I changed my mind and actually thought the idea to not share a lot of Riley’s personal life was a good touch. It made my focus turn completely to Jaxton Whitlock and the unspeakable trials he puts Riley through.
Jaxton Whitlock. Where do I even find the words? Part of me wants to stop right here and tell you that you need to just meet him for yourself, however I have so much to say about this book, that I can’t do that. Jax is a man harboring deep, dark secrets. His childhood horrors have shaped him into who he is today, and who he is - is a monster. Wicked to the very core, he enjoys the chase of finding and acquiring each of his conquests, and unfortunately for Riley - she has caught his eye like no other before. The need to possess her, to own and dominate her is fierce. He will not be denied, Riley is the perfect match for him in his eyes. The one that could be his forever. Where other girls failed to live up to his expectations, Jax knows in his gut that Riley will be the key to his every fantasy.
This is not a book for the faint of heart. The situations it touches on are brutal, terrifying and more than a little disturbing. The lengths that Jax takes to break Riley of her spirit are at times unnerving. Scenes like these aren’t for everyone, but for me - I enjoy the darker, more sinister side to romance. Doesn’t everyone have a little bit of devil inside of them they want to explore? I get my fix in books just like this one...they feed desires and give me my fix of wickedness. The farther Jax pushes Riley down into the darkness, the more he begins to realize that he never wants to let her go. A man taught that love is the ultimate enemy, could the emotions he’s beginning to feel be more that simple lust and greed? Riley is not a woman who gives up easily, she may have been foolish in how she was captured, but that doesn’t mean she is a pushover. Her bravery and strength of will are the 3rd main character in this book - she was not going down without a fight, no matter how far Jax began to wiggle into her heart.
I’m warning you now, don’t try to figure this book out. You just can’t. Yolanda’s brilliance at creating an intricate, web of deceit and treachery are present on every page. Embrace this book, sink into the darkness and devour the words. And when you’re suffering from a major book hangover as I was, come and find me and we can save each other.

3 Inner Heroine Stars
I don't know why I didn't like this one. It had everything I like in a book. It was dark, complicated, had a strong but screwed up heroine and one very screwed up guy. So why didn't I love it? I wanted to, but I couldn't make myself feel more for it.
Don't let me influence you. There are lots of people who are drooling over this one. I wanted to drool, but I couldn't work up even a good spit. What's wrong with me? I wanted on the band wagon. Damn it.

Well, this was certainly a dark book. I won't say it was too dark for me, because it wasn't, although there were elements that pushed the envelope but the overall concept I liked. If someone put 50 Shades of Grey, Captive in the Dark, and Serial into a blender, something like this book would ooze out. Since I like two out of those three books very much, this should have been a slam dunk.
What stopped this from happening was the execution. The lack of editing. This book could have been much tighter; sometimes there were whole pages full of irrelevant, tedious details. Also a sad lack of commas. There were commas, but not enough of them. The tension? Where was the tension? There were some intense things going on in this book, but there was no build up of tension even during the single most important event at the end. I had to go back and read it a second time because I felt like I had whiplash. What just happened?? That "what the fuck?" moment that almost every review references? A real thing.
The scene before the end? Not written very clearly or vividly. I had to go back and reread segments of that one too, because I thought was the one lying on the ground.
The heroine was also too stupid to live. Her reactions were just completely unbelievable right from the beginning. I mean, when you find out your grandmother just died, why would your first reaction be to call a complete stranger who acquired your number through very stalkery means? For that matter, he wasn't very slick. I've read some human trafficking books and watched some programs about it, and I really have a hard time believing someone would approach someone the way he did. It would set off red flags in the mind of any normal woman.
Anyway...I think this could have been a really great story if it had a good editor who could have helped tighten it up and enhance things, but unfortunately this one was disappointing for me.

*I can't believe that just happened. This book didn’t end in the way I thought it was going to. I was sure I knew how the book was going to end but man did I get a huge surprise. I loved the fact I was wrong about the ending and a lot of other things. All of my questions were answered by the end of the story. I can’t wait to see what Yolanda has planned for her fans next. I read this book in one sitting. It was that. I was that engrossed in the story I couldn't put it down. Jaxton seemed to be one way in the beginning but you watch how he changes toward the end. Riley didn't change as much but she changed a little. I really enjoyed this story. It was completely different than anything I have read in a long time. I can't wait to find out what Yolanda releases next. I highly recommend this book.

And poor Riley is his latest conquest. Sweet, innocent Riley.... She had no idea what she was getting into when she agreed to allow Jax to help her get to her grandmother's funeral.
After the long flight to New Orleans, Riley loses recollection of what happens. She later discovers that Jax drugged her in order to take her to his home. But where is his home? Unable to escape and scared to death, Riley learns that Jax plans to keep her all to himself without ever letting her leave. He's kind of like the sexy male version of the Overly Attached Girlfriend. But, regardless of how badly he wants to keep Riley and keep her safe, his dark side takes over from time to time.
You can't help but have a love/hate thing for Jax. He is so caring and concerned for Riley's wellbeing but, at the same time, he is a very twisted man with a need to inflict pain. As time passes, Riley starts to realize that she (in a way) loves Jax because he makes her feel wanted. Who would have guessed that a monster could be so attractive????

Could you recognize a monster if he walked up to you on the street? What if he was like any other customer at a book store where you worked? Could you see the evil in his eyes? Could you tell that he's beyond sick, twisted, and utterly broken? Or would you give him the benefit of the doubt, thinking that he's just a normal guy. What harm would come out of letting him help you?
In Riley's case, more harm than she ever thought possible.

But sometimes the devil hides in the most beautiful faces. I'm a massive fan of Yolanda's books. I love that she can change the genre she writes about from book to book and regardless of the genre she writes about, the stories are always amazing.
Saving Riley is another genre twists from Yolanda. This is a sick, twisted, dark, sad love story.
Riley is a daydreamer who works in a bookshop. Her life is lonely and she that's the way she loves it. She doesn't have much family around, except her grandma. She randomly meets a sexy foreigner, Jax, that makes her feel slightly uneasy, can't help but become interested in him. She can't work out why such a extremely hot guy would be interested in her. One night after needing his help after her grandma passes way, Jax "helps" her by drugging and kidnapping her. Jax takes her back to his native country. Once she's there, she becomes Jax sex slave.
Jax has the face of an angel but the mind of a devil. One minute he can be sweet and nice and caring fo Riley, but then the next minute he's locking her in a room making her watching people having slow sweet sex on a TV....it isn't until the hair of the persons moved that you see its herself having sex with Jax whilst she's passed out and drugged. He's taking her virginity at the same time, How sick of a person can you get???? I was completely shocked that anybody could do that. It was sick and my heart went out completely to Riley. I needed to just hug her and make everything better for her.
I had a love/hate relationship with Jax. At some points Jax was the devil times infinity, then other times her was sweet and caring and was actually saving Riley from her previous life.
Riley realises no body is missing her, so after months with Jax she wonders if staying with him and stop trying to escape is for the best, because at least he cares for her in his own way. What will she do when she finds she us attracted to Jax? Is it Stockholm syndrome?
Riley needs to divide if her feelings are for real or are they fake?
Jax will captor your heart, whether it's for a good reason or a bad reason. He does care for her well being but he's still sadistic and twisted man.
You will get completely sucked in to the book and won't be able to put it down. It's a real page turner, that you can't put down.
Another great book by Yolanda and a great dark read. I can't wait until Yolanda's next book to see what genre she's going to write about next and just to read another great book by a very talented author.

I have read a lot of twisted, dark "romance" novels and every once in a while I read one that makes me go Wha???? and OMG!!! and this one pretty much did all of that. It was DARK, really a study of an insane, mentally unstable man who had been victimized to the point of himself becoming the monster who once preyed on him as a young man.
I can't even begin to describe this one...let's just say it starts off innocently enough (young woman is stalked and flirted with by an admirer) and then what happens from that first drug induced night to the unbelievable ending will shock you and maybe even disgust you, but it was definitely original and had an ending I did not see coming.
If you like the perverse and strange and have a strong stomach for violence and abuse, you should be able to handle this one.
I can't say I "loved" it (what would that say about me?) but I will say it was powerful and kept me reading until the very end.

This was an...interesting story; it's certainly twisted and a bit of a psychological thriller. Jax is deeply disturbed and sets out to do the same to Riley.
There were a few points I became confused, so I went back to re-read a passage, or a page, but nope - still confused. I read a myriad of genres, so my understanding is vast, but this left me feeling like I was missing something...
Aside from these small hiccups, it was an entertaining read. The sex scenes had an evil tinge to them, which I absolutely loved, and found to be a turn on.
And the ending. Just...Wow. It was like a partial tragedy, where I think I may have preferred a full tragedy.

this is not a romance. Its a dark erotica psychological fiction.
The hero is crazy. He's not really a hero. The main male protoganist is the right description.
Again, this is a not a romance. Don't expect it. The ending is shocking. Not a romance. No redemption. Nothing good comes from this journey into a psychopatic serial killer mind.
It gets five stars because it is deeply compelling and very well told.

I just finished and I'm thinking, what the actual Fuck did I just read? I was not happy with the ending, but that's my opinion. I think the book needs some work. It's a good idea and all but sometimes I would get lost and certain things didn't make sense.

Mind blown
Yolanda Olson once again blew my mind. This is a very intense book. I love these characters. Riley gets kidnapped by a very sexy sadistic Jax. Highly recommended read to all who love dark themes.

Quién en su sano juicio confía en un desconocido que NO conoces (pero obvio caes por el encantador acento australiano y la apariencia de Adonis 🙄), sólo sabes su nombre (y supuestamente de dónde es); pero él ya consiguió tu apellido y número telefónico, te manda mensajes y además te pide una foto y TÚ se la mandas en vez de bloquearlo!! Por favor!!
Con todas esas pautas de demostración de potencial psycho, a la prota se le ocurre marcarle para desahogarse y decirle que su abuela ha muerto y encima le confiesa que no tenía dinero para ir y él de la nada le ofrece su ayuda, a cambio de ir con ella y pasar tiempo con él cuando volvieran del funeral (o sea, Alerta Roja tienes que desconfiar de su repentina bondad y más si viene con ciertas condiciones 😒), y bueno de camino al “funeral” él va sacando lo psycho que lleva adentro, y claro el tipo controla cada movimiento que hace para tenerla a su merced y cuando menos lo espera, él la droga, rapta y adiós funeral..
Riley despierta días después, en un lugar cerrado sin recuerdos de nada (incluido el supuesto trato que hizo con el tipo que la coaccionó a aceptar..) en un lugar con la ventanas completamente bloqueadas y con código, en cada habitación escondía algo según el "tipo" o momento del entrenamiento (a este punto me quedé con duda de qué eran las demás habitaciones: sólo menciona Alone Room y Last Day Room)..
Jaxton “Jax” es un enfermo obsesivo con Riley, y lo peor de todo es que la violó estando ella inconsistente y encima la obliga a ver tal violación (pff la prota se da cuenta que ya no es virgen, fatal, ah por cierto desarrolla cierto fetiche por las vírgenes..) como parte de su “entrenamiento” y lecciones (ah y la obliga a usar ajustadísimos corsets); ella “lucha” contra él pero eso sólo sirve para prenderlo y obsesionarse más con ella..
En algún momento (meses después del rapto), una pareja de novios va a la casa del loco a pedirle ayuda y resulta que él en su POV te cuenta sobre un tal Anberlin (al parecer una de sus anteriores sumisas/cautivas), y él al ver la similitud en la chica con ella se propone tenerla (ya tiene una esclava para entrenar y quiere otra 🙄), mata al novio y la encierra a ella en uno de los cuartos con nombre de torturas (Alone Room, creo).
Riley al ver esto intenta negociar con él para que la deje ir, pero él le propone que tenga relaciones sexuales con ella o que la mate (no inventes); Riley al no hacer ninguna de las dos cosas, la castiga (sexualmente hablando o la ata o ambas, creo, a este punto no recuerdo el dichoso castigo..), entonces ella le promete nunca intentar huir y quedarse para siempre con él por lo que le pide que deje que la chica (Perry) se vaya, él acepta, en ese momento la chica estaba inconsciente y él la toma en sus brazos y la tira por el balcón y encima al ver a la otra horrorizada por su acción la consuela diciéndole que es su culpa y que debió haber hecho lo que él le pidió. A partir de este momento la prota se desquició y prácticamente acepta la locura de él (Síndrome de Estocolmo) y se vuelve algo ninfomaníaca, y a Jax le fascina..
Lo curioso es que él creía que en Riley había encontrado a su amante (a su igual), pero como no debía desarrollar sentimientos por ella (porque eso iba en contra de lo que sus amos le enseñaron) la castigaba y él a sí mismo cortándose...
Después de un año confinada, ella acepta buscar otra cautiva para él, Riley sale a la caza y encuentra a Tempest, una chica de cabello púrpura que resulta ser lesbiana, con la que acuerda encontrase pero claro, Jax iría al encuentro..
Estuvo de WTF?! el hecho de que Riley mensajeara con Tempest mientras Jax estaba a momentos de llevarse a Tempest y que todavía le dijera que Riley le mandaba a decir: Hola jajaja, o sea, en qué momento de descuido de Jax no vió que ella tenía un celular.. y por ese error se pone frenético y después de llevar a la nueva “víctima” al cuarto de confinamiento, él brutaliza a Riley (sexualmente hablando, fue otro nivel por así decirlo) y luego la lleva con Tempest al mismo lugar como castigo..
Días después, revisa la cámara de la habitación, en un punto Riley le pregunta si está en pie la propuesta anterior (el mismo trato que le hizo con Perry) y él le dice que sí y ahora ella se convierte en el mismo monstruo que él al “matar” a Tempest, él va al cuarto y la encuentra en otro espacio sideral, entonces él le confiesa que él fue un cautivo como ella y que trató siempre de ganarse a sus amos pero ellos nunca lo “reconocieron” y entonces él empezó a maquinar y volverse más listo que ellos y los mató (desconozco si la casa en la que mantenía a Riley era la misma en la que lo tenían cautivo a él)..
Riley en algún momento siente deseos de tener relaciones sexuales con él (obvio, te dan ganas después de matar a alguien), van su habitación él se quiso poner más travieso de lo usual, ambos estaban en el balcón y obvio Riley cayó y murió.. si Jax lo jodió, perdió a su esclava favorita a su igual 🙄 (curiosamente Riley planeaba morir o algo así, al parecer recuperó algo de cordura en esos días de confinamiento..)
Y Tempest realmente no murió y fue testigo de cómo la locura de Jax lo trastorno al grado de tomarla a ella como remplazo de Riley y llamándola por ese nombre (esto sucede después de que ella le confesara lo que Riley le dijo mientras estaban en Alone Room), y él le dice porque obliga a Riley a
usar corsets tan apretados (con el fin de hacer que ella abortara sin que ella lo notara y así no engendrara a un monstruo como él, oh gracias por la conciencia humana 😒..), y claro a continuar con la rutina de cazar para conseguir otra cautiva para entrenar con sus “lecciones”.
A este punto, Tempest es consciente de todo ese caos y sabe que nadie la podrá ayudar y mucho menos escapar de Jax...

I was given the honor of getting to read this as she wrote, and boy what a ride!!! I think my jaw hit the floor at least 100 times and I must have swore out loud 1000 times!! This is a twisted erotic romance, so faint of heart...beware!!
Riley loved her job in a bookstore. She lived away from her family, but loved her freedom. One day at work, a man strikes up a conversation with her, little did she know her life was....
Jaxton, has been watching Riley. He will do anything to get close to her, so when he saw her sitting eating he took the chance to talk to her. But when he followed her back into work her boss notices him following her and helps get Riley away from him. But later in the evening, her cell rings, when she answers it's Jaxton..They talk for a bit when she finally asks how he got her number. He tells her you can find anything on the internet.
The next day when Riley gets to work, her boss pulls her into her office to tell her that her parents called, her grandmother died. Devastated, she goes outside. She has no way to get home. She doesn't know anyone. So she calls the one person who seemed like they might care, Jaxton! He comes to her as fast as he can, and tells her he will help her get to the funeral. But he has 2 conditions: 1. He is going with her, but will stay in the background. 2. After they get back she has to spend time with him. She quickly agrees, he has been nothing but nice and seems to want to get to know her better.
On the way there, flags should have been raised at how he would order her to do things, but she was just thankful that he was willing to help. At the hotel, Jaxton tells her to stay in the car while he checks them in, thinking nothing of it, Riley stays. After a while shes thinking its taking a while, but just then she is grabbed from behind and a needle is stuck into her neck.
When she wakes she is someplace unfamiliar. She doesn't know how she got there. She hears laughter downstairs so she follows the sound. She finds a man, sitting on the arm of a couch, eating cereal, watching TV. JAXTON. She doesn't remember him, but he tells her that is from the stuff in the needle. He also tells her there is no way out, every window, every door has a coded lock. He then tells her he is giving her so much free time before he starts training her. Riley freaks and tries to find a way out..there is none. The first, or should I say 2nd night, after she yells and breaks his rules, he ties her up, leaving her in a dark room. She ends up getting loose, but at the same time dislocated her shoulder.
Jaxton, wanting to train her, hates her trying to get away. He takes her to the "Alone Room", where he makes her watch a video, at first she doesnt know who he is making love to, yes he was very slow and sweet. Until the hair covering the girl's face reveals it is her, Riley. He took her virginity while she was passed out. He continues to "train" her, but forcing himself on her, making her walk around in a corset, anything to break her. In his mind, she is the one. The one that will be his equal. This is no way near your typical love story. This is a sick, twisted and sad love story of Riley and Jax. Riley is young and a lonely daydreamer, who works at a book store and lives a simple life. She doesn’t have much family around, except for her dear old grandma. One day she meets a seriously good looking and sexy foreigner, Riley couldn’t help but be interested. No matter how uneasy the guy made her feel, she kept talking to him. As a simple girl, she wondered what a gorgeous looking guy wants with her. So Riley became curious, which kept her interested on what the guy will do next.

Instead of Riley hating Jax for what he did and still doing, she could help but fall for him.
No matter sick and twisted Jax is, he couldn’t help but care and love Riley. No matter what kind of a bad guy Jax is, I couldn’t bring myself to hate him either. I was more feeling sorry for Jax for being so broken, hoping he would snap out of his twisted mind.
Will these two find the right path and fall in love?
Or will Jax twisted games finally break Riley to her death?

This story is so twisted, but I couldn’t help but get sucked in. This is not my typical read, but the story is so well written that I was intrigued and kept on reading.

I'm a massive fan of Yolanda's books. I love that she can change the genre she writes about from book to book and regardless of the genre she writes about, the stories are always amazing.
Saving Riley is another genre twists from Yolanda. This is a sick, twisted, dark, sad love story.
Riley is a daydreamer who works in a bookshop. Her life is lonely and she that's the way she loves it. She doesn't have much family around, except her grandma. She randomly meets a sexy foreigner, Jax, that makes her feel slightly uneasy, can't help but become interested in him. She can't work out why such a extremely hot guy would be interested in her. One night after needing his help after her grandma passes way, Jax "helps" her by drugging and kidnapping her. Jax takes her back to his native country. Once she's there, she becomes Jax sex slave.
Jax has the face of an angel but the mind of a devil. One minute he can be sweet and nice and caring fo Riley, but then the next minute he's locking her in a room making her watching people having slow sweet sex on a TV....it isn't until the hair of the persons moved that you see its herself having sex with Jax whilst she's passed out and drugged. He's taking her virginity at the same time, How sick of a person can you get???? I was completely shocked that anybody could do that. It was sick and my heart went out completely to Riley. I needed to just hug her and make everything better for her.
I had a love/hate relationship with Jax. At some points Jax was the devil times infinity, then other times her was sweet and caring and was actually saving Riley from her previous life.
Riley realises no body is missing her, so after months with Jax she wonders if staying with him and stop trying to escape is for the best, because at least he cares for her in his own way. What will she do when she finds she us attracted to Jax? Is it Stockholm syndrome?
Riley needs to divide if her feelings are for real or are they fake?
Jax will captor your heart, whether it's for a good reason or a bad reason. He does care for her well being but he's still sadistic and twisted man.
You will get completely sucked in to the book and won't be able to put it down. It's a real page turner, that you can't put down.
Another great book by Yolanda and a great dark read. I can't wait until Yolanda's next book to see what genre she's going to write about next and just to read another great book by a very talented author.

I gotta admit something - I don't usually read thrillers. There's only one exception there and it's called "an erotica thriller". That's exactly what "Save Riley" is. Yolanda Olson knew what she wanted to give her readers in this story. The idea was good. The story itself - even better. Why?
Riley is a young girl working in a bookstore. One day she meets her Prince Charming - Jaxton Whitlock. He's always there for her, even when a member of her family dies and she needs a transport. They make a deal - he'll give her a ride to her hometown and then she'll give him some of her time so they could het to know each other. When they arrive, his part of the deal is done. Now it's time for her... And he knows only one way of spending time together. Riley gets drugged and kidnapped, but she doesn't give up. Will she succeed in a fight for her life?
Honestly, I didn't expect of this story to be so heartbreaking (at times). It gave me so many feels! It was scary & thrilling, I often had chills all over my body. At the same time it was mysterious, sometimes even slightly romantic.

Riley is a well-built character. She's strong and has a great amount of determination inside her. She can hide her fears somewhere deep just to stand face to face with the worst nightmare - Jaxton. He, on the other hand, is a human monster. Terryfing at once and - suddenly - overly loving. He's full of surprises - both: to Riley and the reader. I didn't fully understand his actions but he surely knew how to make me feel thrilled.
The cover is mysterious and introduces us to the dark world of Jaxton. "The first time is always the sweetest". Surely it was for Riley...
I want you, Guys, to give "Save Riley" a try. It's full of dark emotions and lots of stuff that literally destroys the reader. It did destroy me for a day or two. I was simply shocked. So if you feel that you are strong enough to read it, go on! I did and I'm glad about it.
