I really wanted to like this, but I can't buy into the premise. It just feels silly to me for some reason.

Also, I don't like the time jumps. They make the story feel super choppy, not to mention that Shay's healing and transformation after 10 years of abuse took place off page, in a short period of time, in "four months later" fashion.

I felt cheated.

I also didn't like how the H had NO interest in the h until her appareance did a 180 and then - bam - insta love done poorly.

While I was reading Beautiful Outlaw a friend sent me a link to a specific review (said review is not related to Beautiful Outlaw). I'd be lying if I said it didn't affect me. Just once I'll zip it and won't say what I didn't like about the book I'm supposed to review.

And to those who are spreading bullshit about me and call me a well-known GR bully:

Readers who squeal over every book and rate it every time with four or five gushing stars don't have a problem on GR. But readers like me who are not dishing out five-star ratings on a daily basis and state a candid, snarky and honest opinion are called bullies. Something is just wrong here and it pisses me off. Believe me, I’d love to gush more. Yet more often than not any kind of gushing is not warranted in my case because, let me be straightforward, this year I’ve been reading almost more bad books than great ones. Although I can’t be completely sure since I haven’t seen any statistics yet. Still, it’s really demoralizing because reading rubbish sucks donkey balls.

Do you honestly believe that everyone is going to be happily overwhelmed with emotion whenever they pick up a book? I don't belong to that category, that's for sure. I have my standards and when a book doesn't live up to my expectations I will say so without sugarcoating anything. Stating a negative opinion, even if said opinion is harsh and snarky, is my right and doesn't violate GRs ToS either. I don't need anyone's approval and I'm definitely not a bully. A bully intimidates a person, not a book and reading and reviewing is about books, not authors. You need to do a reality check.

4 Outlaws Stars

Forced to marry at a young age to save her mother, Laura has been pretending to be someone else for years. No literally, her husband forces her to become like his deceased wife, even going as far as to call her by her name. She undergoes multiple surgeries and is forced to dress and act a certain way, to keep her psychotic husband happy. One day he pushes her too far and she finally goes to her brother for help.

Jeremy calls in his best friend and military buddy, Bowie. Bowie is the VP of the Outlaws MC, but knows Jeremy from when they served in the military together. Jeremy sends Laura to live with Bowie and provides her with a new identity: Shay. Bowie is more than eager to help the beautiful blonde he spent months fantasizing about while overseas. For months he listed to Jeremy tell stories about his fun, caring, and loving sister and he all he could think about was how perfect she was.

Bowie is more than surprised when an Ice Princess steps off the bus to meet him, instead of the girl he thought he knew. She is nothing like the vivacious girl he heard about and seen pictures of, no this girl looks like she is barely living.

Bowie decides he doesn’t have time for the prude and leaves her with is adopted mother, Nina, and sister, Rachel. There Shay begins to have family and friends. I loved how Nina and Rachel took her in and gave her a home.

Overtime, with help from Nina and Rachel, Shay starts to get her life back and she begins to find herself. Once Bowie sees Shay is back and no longer the frigid girl he met a few months ago he is suddenly interested again.

This story has MC drama and regular drama, but doesn’t really have couple drama - I really liked that aspect. The story focuses on the MC and the drama from Shay’s past, not on their actual relationship. Yes, the couple has growing pains, but it is more abut surviving and overcoming her past. Throw in the drama surrounding the MC, it was the perfect balance.

It is no secret I love MC books and I love Emily Minton’s books, so when I saw the two together I knew I had to read this one. I am very impressed with this one and already attached to some of the guys. I can’t wait for more!

Well...can't say I really enjoyed this one, unfortunately :(

Laura has been married to a man she doesn't love for 10 years. She did this to save her family. To be honest, I found the reasoning a bit ridiculous. I think there would have been other options to solve the problem, but since she was only 18 I tried to overlook this stupid mistake. The man she married makes her change herself into the spitting image of his dead wife. If she doesn't comply, there will be consequences. When I say change, I don't just mean clothes...it even includes plastic surgury.

 photo tumblr_inline_np8m63VmSY1qdo426_500_zpsajeyjtt0.gif

His latest request goes a bit too far for Laura and she runs away seeking help from her brother. She has to explain what has been going on for the last 10 years, because her family doesn't have a clue. Her brother Lock offers to help her run away and fake her death. She will have to hide out though and he has the perfect place for her. His old army buddy and now MC vice precident Bowie, will look after her and keep her safe.

 photo images_zpschk8cyxa.jpg

Bowie has been curious about Laura ever since Lock showed him her picture, when they were stationed together. The Laura that shows up however, seems very different and he doesn't anything to do with her, so he dumps her at his mothers house. Nice going douchebag !! Ofcourse Laura is hurt by his actions, but she figures he doesn't owe her anything. Gradually Laura (now Shay) becomes herself again and the next time Bowie see her, he is very impressed and determined to make her his.

Laura doesn't want to be with another man that wants to controle her life. She has done that for 10 years and she is not about to do it again. But...Bowie is so hot and she feels a connection with him and when he touches her she loses all sence....So who cares that he treats her like shit, because he fucks her sooo good....{.insert eyerol here}....

Damn but Laura annoyed the shit out of me. She spend 10 years being some guy's bitch and eventhough she doesn't want to be controlled again, she let's Bowie get away with anything. In my opinion, she was a whiny, weak and annoying heroine.

 photo tumblr_o5b3slFaYE1tq4of6o1_500_zpsjpejdejw.gif

And let me tell you, Bowie was a major asshole. He talked down to her, told her what to do and to keep her mouth shut. He even told her brother that he had no say in his sisters life anymore, because Bowie was now in charge of making all decisions. What a fucking douchebag. There was noting alpha about him. He was just a mean controlfreak sho had no respect for her whatsoever.

 photo 52373340_zpskssepbac.jpg

I didn't like either MC, so I couldn't really enjoy the story either. I like my men to be redeemable assholes, but this guy was just ridiculous.

2,5 stars from me....

3.5 Mr. Bowie Stars

Within the first chapter I was hooked with Beautiful Outlaw.

Laura marries a man to save her family. She never realizes the man she married just wanted his dead wife back. Ten years later, Laura is molded into her husband’s dead wife and she can’t take it anymore. Laura asks her brother for help and he brings her to Bowie.

Bowie is VP of a MC.

And thus the story begins…

Laura is now Shay and she is very scared. Bowie comes to pick her up and he has this no-fuss attitude, he’s in a MC, so you know how he treats his women. Shay isn’t herself and tries very hard to find her old self ten years ago. Bowie doesn’t make this process easy.

If you are a fan of dominate heroes and damsels in distress, this is for you. I will have to say, I had a slight struggle with that. Usually I love my dominate alpha males and weak little Heroines, but at times it was a little hard to read.

When you read a MC book, you kind of have to put different rules out there. Killing is okay, treating the Heroine like crap is okay and being really mean is the standard, but for some reason Bowie kind of rubbed me the wrong way. I guess I needed a balance of good and bad and I found more bad than good.

He isn’t a complete jerk, there are just some parts I kind of took a moment and reread because I disagreed how he handled the situation. I also found it hard to like Shay as well. I just wanted her to be a little stronger. I didn’t understand how she even let a 16 year old kid boss her around. She went from a crazy controlling guy to another controlling guy.

Overall, I liked the writing style. I couldn’t stop reading it and I had to finish. I also liked that it wasn’t only about Shay and Bowie, there are some side storylines with the MC and other brothers. This created great character development and it has me wanting to read the next book.

If you love MC books, this will meet your fix.

Married to a man who has molded her to be like his dead wife, Laura has spent the last ten years as a shell of her old self. Knowing that if she doesn't get away, the last shred of who she is will disappear. Reaching out to her brother who she stopped talking to, she reveals the truth about what she did for family. Reacting swiftly, Laura finds herself with a new identity and under the protection of VP of the Outlaws Bowie. Bowie isn't sure about what had Laura running to him, but he plans to keep her by his side despite his club imploding and a betrayal he never saw coming.

Exceptional read. This is one you pick up and are invested into with each turn of the page. Anxious to read the next book in the series, fantastic read.

I was so excited to start a new MC series that has a possessive alpha and no cheating. Unfortunately I knew from the prologue that this might not be a good book for me. Laura/Shay's reason behind her loss of innocence and her terrible marriage was absolutely ridiculous. I was honestly annoyed from the beginning. Then we get to Bowie who was a total ass. I didn't like him at all, I hated the way he treated her and had her branded like an animal. I also didn't like they way he kept telling her to shut up. This book was almost a DNF several times but I did read to the end and was annoyed yet again that his sister was being made a fool from her man and he just stood by watching. Total nonsense from a man who was totally protective of his family in the beginning.

“Fuck, baby. Your pussy is amazing."

"Please," She begs, fighting against the grip I have on her and the slow pace I've set.

Giving into her desire, I fill her hot pussy to the root. Being inside her is like nothing I've ever felt before. It's like her pussy was made just for my cock. It's mine and no one, no-fuckin’ one will ever take it from me.

Pulling out to the very tip, I pause a moment before slamming back inside her. "You're mine, baby. This pussy is mine. Say it, Shay."

Her eyes are unfocused from the pleasure I am giving her, and her bottom lip is between her teeth. When she lifts her head , meeting my gaze, our eyes bore into each other. I work my hips harder, faster. "Tell me, baby. Tell me that you're mine."

Her head falls back, breaking our connection for a moment, but then her eyes are on mine again, the haze of lust still strong , but she is focused on me. "I'm yours, Bowie"

"Always," I demand, as I reach between our soaked bodies and use my thumb to strum her clit.

Her pussy clenches around me as she throws her head back on a shout she confirms my demand, "Always!"

I slam into her and groan out my release, marking her as my own. Mine, now and forever...

It just seemed like it had been a while since I shared a good juicy quote so, there you go =)

3.75+RATING-I've become a bit picky about my biker/MC reads. With so many books in this genre now to choose from, I really expect a lot from a book to earn higher than a 3-3.5 Rating from me. Authors like Madeline Sheehan, Susan Fanetti, or Lina Andersson have set the bar on what I expect from the biker books I pick up. Unfortunately, that means I set a lot of titles aside or just end up feeling a bit let down with what's out there.

I downloaded a few different samples over the week-end, all books featuring MC's, and Beautiful Outlaw is the one I went with. I liked the overall story line. I'm a sucker for a woman on the run so perhaps that was part of the appeal here. The writing was okay. Overall, it wasn't perfect but it was better than average. I didn't like the portrayal of Tag in the epilogue but I'm guessing there is a story down the road for him. I definitely plan to read the next book in the series which should be Tin Man's story, releasing early 2015.

I just finished Beautiful Outlaw and I just loved it! Im a biker girl all the way and the grittier the better. This didn't disappoint. Laura married a man to save her family. What she really didn't expect is the become someone else in the process. Marcus demands her to become Gwendolyn, his dead ex-wife. Marcus doesn't physically beat her but he does abuse her mentally which can be just as bad. But she endured to save her family. But after years of the mentally abuse, he finally gives her the ultimatium that she cannot handle anymore, she is done. She has to leave. She needs Jeremy (LOCK) her brothers help. He doesn't want anything to do with her but when she is finally able to be honest, he cant help but help his sister. He helps her fake her death and send her to the only guy that can help her....his Army buddy Bowie. He is VP of the Savage Outlaws. Bowie cannot deny his friends call so he does what he can to help. He brings her into his MC world but he doesn't expect to end up having feelings for her. She looks to him like a stuck up bitch, not the girl he remembers Jeremy talking about. But Laura is finally able to be who she was always meant to be...Shay... This is where Bowie cannot deny his feelings no more but will Marcus ever find out that Shay is alive? Will the MC club accept her with all the lies that comes their way? You will have to read and see...

I really enjoyed this story. I loved the plot, yes it is a biker book but it has the vulnerability aspect to it that had me hooked. Who doesn't love when the heroine is running from someone? It makes it an interesting storyline. It did have some predictability to it which I still enjoyed but there was also some moments where I was like "Oh Sh*T. I did loved the secondary characters. They had a lot of depth whether they were the good guys or the bad guys. They brought a lot to the table and I just cannot wait for more!

Bowie, Bowie, Bowie. He is such a damn hottie. I love biker boys. The harder they are, the harder they fall. He was no different. He was domineering and controlling yet soft when he needed to be. But what I loved most about him was loyalty to his brothers, family and then Shay. He did what he had to do to be able to keep his family safe. Shay is my girl. I felt bad for her. She really did try to save her family with what she had to do to. It was different then most stories that I have read but still heartbreaking in its own way. She really needed a type of man that would let her be her yet protect her when things got rough. I loved their chemistry. It was hot and it scorched the pages. Really made me envious!

Trust me, this was an awesome read and you will not want to put it down. I love Emily's style of writing. She puts me in the story while I read and I cant wait to see what she brings!

Great start to a new series. Shay is your sweet heroine who gives up her life for the protection of her family and marries a mad man to save her sick mother. After 10 years of hell, she finally asks her brother to help her escape. He sends her to his long time best friend and fellow soldier, Bowie who is now VP of the Savage Outlaws. Thus begins a love story that is one of the best I have read in the MC/biker genre in a long while. Bowie is surely one of the best heroes I have read about lately and Shay is a very likable character. In fact, I liked all of the characters in this book. Can't wait for Tin Man's story as well as Tag/Rachel's story. I highly recommend this book to those of you who like a well written biker?MC romance with a hot, alpha, loving hero and a strong heroine. No cheating and a HEA.

Wow. Such a great story. To me, this story felt so different then the same old nitty gritty sex filled Mc books I keep running across. I've been on an MC kick for two years straight, looking for a gem in these rough stories. Let me tell you- this one finally meets everything I was looking for.

There was:
Grit
Violence
Sexy times
Club business
Stupid club whore trying to cause problems
Issues with other clubs
A bad President
A rough hero who tried to be more of a good man for the heroine but still was rough, gruff, full of sex, but still a good brother and protector.
A heroine who learns to come into her own after her crazy previous life.
Unfortunately- not what I want to read about, so I skipped as much as I could- there was spousal rape in the prologue.
Club brothers that I would love to know more about.

Laura, aka: Shay, is in hiding from her seriously whacked out crazy husband. She takes years to do so, but she finally reaches out to her brother, Jeremy, for help.

Jeremy served in the military with Bowie- so he turns to him to be the help he needs for Shay.

Bowie has always had a thing for Shay, but he only knew her then as Laura and she was much younger. Jeremy used to talk about her on their deployments. He had grand dreams of hooking Shay to his star after he got out of the military, too bad she was already taken. Now he has a second chance to make her his. So, can he take this broken woman, who looks nothing like her old photos, and make her his old lady for once and all?

Bowie had a lot on his plate. The clubs president is making bad choices, placing him and the club in danger a lot with certain kinds of runs. He needs to take this guy out. He also has a club whore who claims to be his old lady, and now he has to hide and protect Shay. There's only so much one can handle. But handle it like a champ he does- eventually.

What I liked:
1. Story flow- quick & easy
2. I couldn't put this story down
3. A lot of the secondary characters
4. Tag
5. Some humor
6. This story read so different then the average biker book
7. So much going on but never once was it overwhelming- it just flowed really good together
8. The last few lines of the books literally gave me a chill up my whole body- what the hell!? Please hurry up with the next book for that moment!!!

This book left open story lines for: Rollo, Tag, Lock and Tin-Man. I seriously have to know more about the that surprise secret towards the end with Tin-Man.

4 "Promising Debut to Another MC Series" Stars.

I have to say I'm a total MC romance lover, but what really intrigued me about this read, was the unique set-up for this story. Namely, the heroine's flight from a controlling, psychotic first husband, who was attempting to turn her, one piece at a time, into the splitting image of his dead first wife. In particular, I wanted to see how Emily Minton would weave this auspicious start with the romance, as presumably, a woman fleeing a controlling ex would likely fight falling straight into a controlling, alpha MC biker's arms. Interestingly, Ms. Minton makes it all work, and also introduces us to some very interesting secondary characters along the way, who will no doubt form the basis of Savage Outlaw books to come. I, for one, hope we will get to hear Lock's and Tag's story soon!

Laura gave up everything, including her innocence, at the tender age of 18 for her family. When her father's boss threatened to fire him, and along with that loss terminate her parents' healthcare, Laura knew she had to cave in to his demands that she marry him if her mother was going to have any chance to fight her Chronic Kidney Disease. What she didn't understand was just to what extent Marcus, a man twenty-seven years older than Laura, expected her to go to to live up to his perfect wife demands.

After undergoing numerous surgeries to change her appearance to look more like his beloved "Gwendolyn", Marcus' first wife, Laura had had enough and knew she had to get away before he insisted on even more drastic measures for ensuring her transformation. So after years of isolation from her family at Marcus' demand, Laura finally reached out to her bother, Jeremy, with her sad story.

Jeremy "Lock", a police officer, entrusts Laura to the only man he would trust with his own life, Bowie. Bowie is now the VP of the Savage Outlaw MC. Although they work for different sides of the law now, Bowie and Jeremy became friends in the military where they depended on each other daily.

Bowie reluctantly takes Laura, but determines he is going to have nothing to do with the rich "ice" queen while she is in his care. So he sends her off to live with Nina, a woman who while she may not have birthed him, has been the only mother he has really ever known. Additionally, Laura is forced to assume a new alias, Shay, for her safety. It is at Nina's, that others, including Bowie's Savage Outlaw MC brothers, begin to take notice of Shay's special charm, as her purported icy facade (forced upon her by Marcus), slowly melts away as she acclimates to once again regaining control over her life.

Bowie had at one time filled his nights in the military with dreams of Laura. Although he initially thought that his dreams would never be met, once she starts warming up, he begins to see her again for who she really is. Soon his need to protect, and Shay's need to be cared for, ignite a passion between them. But can Bowie keep her safe from her psychotic ex-husband who has unimaginable resources and is clearly obsessed with his perfect "Gwendolyn" replica? As if that weren't bad enough, Bowie will also have to fend off danger from an unimaginable source in his own backyard and who has set his sights on punishing Bowie via Shay. Moreover, as Shay begins to learn what it means to be "claimed" by a MC biker, will she be willing to hand over control of her life once again to another man?

I found Beautiful Outlaw to be a truly enjoyable read. Both the "club business" and psycho ex-husband, suspense aspect of this read kept me engaged and eagerly reading to see how this story would end. Additionally, the passion/romance part of this novel was also generally well developed.

I can't wait for the next book in this series which will recount Tin Man's story!

I read the blurb for this book and just knew I had to read it but since I'd forgotten to make a note of the title or author it took me awhile to find it again.
At eighteen years of age Laura marries a man in his forties, a man who calls her Gwendolyn, the name of his first wife and over the next ten miserable years she's moulded into the woman he wants her to be, makeup, clothes, hair, brown contacts to cover her blue eyes and of course the six surgeries, she's little more than a life sized doll for him to play with and she can't take it anymore, she's suffered all this to protect her family but now she has to protect herself.
Her brother sends her to the only place he believes she will be safe, to his best friend Bowie, VP of the Savage Outlaws MC and so Laura, who was Gwendolyn now becomes Shay.
Like I said I loved the blurb but once I started reading it seemed a little silly if I'm being honest but I continued on and for the most part I enjoyed it.
I don't know if its because I read so many MC books but this seemed a bit predictable at times but I liked it enough that I'll be reading 'Heart of an Outlaw' next.
Like the reviews say the epilogues are fabulous and ensured that I do in fact continue on.

It was cute biker story, nothing too harsh as in other MC stories. It was enjoyable and quick read for me, but unfortunately sometimes it felt she just got trapped from one asshole to another one but in different way. I thought she is gonna toughen up bit more and not be sooooo agreeable to almost everything, well she thew some sass here and there but it just didn't feel right form me. The epilogue got me!!! honestly I'm looking forward to more books but I hope I'm gonna like them bit more....because some things were just expected...

Have loved this Author's previous books but really struggled with this...

Thought the characters were not that well developed and the story predictable, the usual MC stuff, hot badass biker, gorgeous, hot ( of course ) girl, crazy ex,bla, bla bla......

What saved it ( I think? ) was the Epilogue , I probably will read more in the series but only if I stumble across them

We're introduced to Laura, a tormented and frightened 28 year old young woman, who has been living a lie for that last ten years. Since the age of 18, Laura was manipulated into marrying a lunatic of a man to ensure the safety of her family. Now ten years later and Laura is nothing more that a walking ghost. The ghost of Gwendolyn. Her husband's first wife. Formerly a blond, blue eyed bombshell, filled with lively energy bursting through her veins, Laura is now a skeletal redhead. A photo shopped image of Gwendolyn perfection.

Living a lie for the last ten years has finally taken a toll on Laura. She gave up everything to protect her family. Not being able to see them for months at a time, losing her best friend and role model, her brother, Jeremy. Laura has decided to leave. But the only way she can leave her husband is in death.

Along with the help of Jeremy and his military buddy and VP of the Savage Outlaw MC, Alex Bailey, a.k.a Bowie, Laura escapes to safe house, miles away. Stepping off the Greyhound, Laura has been reborn as Shay Johnson.

Bowie is excited as hell to see the bombshell he dreamed of all those years in the military, but what steps off the bus is nothing more than an ice princess.

"She's just not my type."

Bowie's plan of keeping Shay with him, has taken a nose dive, when he came face to face with the ice princess. He changes plans and takes her to his Mama's house instead, hoping all he'll have to do is check in from time to time, all that soon changes after a couple of weeks away.

Returning after a long ride, Bowie is surprised when he realizes the ice princess has thawed and has returned to her long lost self. He's becomes especially jealous when his brother asks about his intentions for Laura and further goes on to torment him slowly with sexual innuendos about her.

"If I had a chance, I wouldn't just fuck her.
That is one woman I'd make love to all damn night." - Tin

"Stay the hell away from her, Tin. I mean it, this is one woman we won't be sharing."- Bowie

Walking into his Mama's kitchen was the shocking wake up call he needed. Right in front of his eyes.

His dream girl is back and he is more than interested in "helping" her now.

"I've decided to give this a go, you and me."- Bowie

And of course he just waltzes in and goes all caveman on her arse. You gotta love these biker men.

I enjoyed reading this first instalment in this new series by EM, my most disappointing factor with the story has to be the lack of sass by Laura/Shay. She got back to being the old her, yet, the attitude that I picked up on through Bowie's thoughts wasn't displayed at all. I hated that she was so subservient with Bowie. She really needed to grow some balls and be more outgoing. You're a biker's woman. Own that shit!!!

In the last graphic I posted her words like "I have been yours" really were far and few inbetween and so lacking in ummphh for the extra punch. Bowie also wasn't enough for me as a biker at all. More intensity was needed and drama. He seemed tooo soft and endearing. When I think biker books, I think chaos, havoc, unrelenting punishment, lust, sex, desire, loved. All fierce and ferocious, in a rugged package. These were the few aspects lacking for me.

This was the first book that I have read by Emily Minton and I can say for a fact that it will not be the last. Beautiful Outlaw is the first book in the Savage MC series and believe me people when I say it will take you on one hell of a ride. At times I was cursing out Bowie, mentally wanting to slap Shay, as well as slapping a couple other people upside the backs of their heads and mumble that they are idiots. The thing is though, I could not put this book down even when I wanted to do one of the things I just mentioned. Beautiful Outlaw is not a beautiful book about a biker finding his woman, nope. This is gritty at times, it will make you upset for Shay and her past, it will piss you off when Bowie is an asshole, and it will also make you want to read more about the men of Savage MC.
Bowie, my man, you are one sexy man. You are also a total asshat and an idiot that made me not want to like you at first, but then you weaseled your tattooed biker ass into my heart and I was routing for you ever since. Shay, sweetie, you went through hell and came out alive. It took you a while to find who you are but you did and now you have someone who will kill for you.
Like I said in the beginning of this review, this may have been my first book by Emily Minton but it sure won’t be my last. I really wish that the next book was ready to be released because I want more of these bad ass bikers that are a part of Savage MC. Fans of biker romance that are looking for a book that at times will make you want to punch a character one minute and then kiss them the next, this one is for you.

Such an awesome MC book!! The bikers were hot and the sex was hotter!! Bowie was a bad boy through and through but he was also thoughtful, loving, loyal, and tatted up!! Shay was a beautiful, independent, loving, caring, but she was still fearful & a little by broken on the inside. The chemistry between Bowie & Shay was undeniable. Bowie was always intrigued by Shay, but once he got to know her he fell head over heels for her. Shay was skeptical of her feelings towards Bowie, she didn't want a bossy & controlling biker, but that is who her heart chose. I loved the closeness of the family in this book. Everyone was there for each other in good and bad times. This book had everything in it, drama, angst, steaminess, humor, and love. I cannot wait for the second Savage Outlaws MC book!! Awesome job Emily Minton!!

I have been turned on to MC books! I was taken in by this story from the moment I started reading. My Kindle went with me everywhere; including into the kitchen while making dinner. I could not put it down!!! There were moments where my heart was racing and I couldn't read fast enough; I was anxious to find out what was going to happen next. Thank you Emily Minton, you have made me an MC reader! I just downloaded your other books. I can’t get enough.

Laura (Gwendolyn) had sacrificed her life to help her parents, specifically her ill mom. Until she reached the breaking point and she reaches out to her brother for help. Although they were once close, due to her situation (it was one messed up situation) the relationship with her brother was nonexistent. After she opens up and lets him in on the reality of her life, he does not hesitate to help her. He reaches out to his best friend Bowie, VP of Savage Outlaws MC.

She becomes Shay. The story takes us through her transition to become herself again. At first Bowie is distant, but soon discovers he wants her. I love how he decides to make Shay his woman and “f*ck the consequences”. He is commanding and takes what he wants. He has the most beautiful dirty mouth! But, he has a good heart and a soft spot when it comes to family and friends. There were moments of angst that had me biting my nails. The climax just about blew me off!

I don’t like to go into too many details or a full recount of the story. I want others to read it and enjoy it without any spoilers. I've revealed enough to let those that read this review know that it’s a f*ck*ng GOOD story. Read it and you will love it!

After reading the synopsis of this book I knew I wanted to read it immediately. I was drawn from the start. As I got further through the book I had a hard time with the flow of the story. It was kind of all over the place the first part of the book so I had a hard time connecting with the characters. However I kept reading because I was so intrigued how it all would end.

When Bowie comes in to the picture I must admit I didn’t quite get their attraction to one another at first. I felt Laura would’ve been more fearful of him and his controlling ways. I wanted to see more sass or see her put up a fight towards him. We do see that side of her as the story progresses but I would’ve loved to seen more. In the end I connected with them and was so glad they had their HEA.

I loved the ending!! It leaves you with what’s to come! If you are a biker fan like myself you will love this book! It was full of angst and has some very HOTT moments too. Just because there were some moments that had me thinking don’t let it turn you from this book. You will love the Savage Outlaws!

I'm a little torn on this one. On one hand, helloooo sexism and mysogistic asshole bikers. On the other hand, the plot was intriguing and intense.

When you pick up a romance novel featuring a motorcycle club, you know you're gonna have to forgive and look past a certain amount of Neanderthal behavior and degradation of women. That's just "how it is" or whatever. This book seemed to take it one step further than I'm used to. I mean, Bowie basically puts Shay on display like a prized cow, cupping and showing off her breasts to his biker bros. And there was a healthy amount of male-on-female violence (not that that bitch didn't deserved to be choked out, but whoa...).

So I enjoyed the story, but the feminist in me really isn't happy about it.

Major cliffhanger at the end - I desperately want to know what the fuck that was about at the very end of the bonus epilogue. Not sure I want to deal with this motorcycle gang again just to find out, though.

For a bunch of MC members, they sure talked a whole lot.
In a nutshell this is how everything went down:-
Hero talked on the phone, slammed phone, kissed the girl, whispered dirty things in her ears, talked about bad guy, rode on bikes, met bad guy, talked to bad guy, rode bikes, get lockdown, talked about lockdown, girl got kidnapped, talked about girl got kidnapped, tortured bad guy, bad guy fessed up, talked about who gets to kill bad guy, went to girl's holdup place, talked about who gets to kick in the door, saved the girl, talked about how he loved her after all. The End.

Seriously. That was all these badass criminal MC guys do, apparently. They. Talked. I was exasperate for them to just act. Go already. Shoot people, kick someone's butt or rev up your bikes, whatevva. Just stop the long discussions about every f-ing thing.

Plus, I was so bored with the predictability of the whole story line.

Rants over.

This one was interesting. I liked the story line - it was unique which is always refreshing. There were some things that bothered me - Bowie and Shay's relationship seemed very rushed. I didn't buy that he had a thing for her just because he listened to Locke's stories about her - and given her past, I would have thought there would have been a lot more push back from Shay when he "claimed" her. Then there were some very abrupt chapter endings. They would be in the middle of a situation and then "boom" end chapter and it's the next day (or week - or months later). It just hurt the flow.

However, I really enjoyed the characters. There was a whole host of great secondary characters I got very attached to - and with the epilogue there are a number of stories I'm itching to read. I'm looking forward to the next installment.

Loved loved loved this book! I had the privilege of proofreading this book and I found myself having to reread it because I got so wrapped up in the story that I forgot to look for anything.

Shay has gone through a lot and has overcome a lot as well. Bowie doesn't think he will ever have a woman on the back of his bike until he comes face to face with a face that he hasn't seen in a long time. Although there isn't a ton of sex in this book, it is not needed to complete the story! Love the plot and how it all comes together. Emily Minton has an amazing gift of writing and I loved all of her books but I do believe this one may be her best work yet!
Well done Emily! Can't wait for more of the Savage Outlaws!!
