This is my first book by this author but it probably won't be my last if he continues to write suspense like this one. I was hooked from the first page of the prologue and it continued even after all the pieces fit together. There are quite a few characters because of the plot but I was able to follow along easily. The story takes the reader from islands in the Dominican Republic to Florida to Utah.

After the intriguing prologue, the story starts with Greg and Marena Walker on vacation in the Dominican Republic which sounds relaxing, but soon turns into something resembling a nightmarish dream when they unexpectedly witness the murder of their guide during a drug deal. The phrase wrong place, wrong time is a fitting description and the perfect title for this book.

I liked the multiple points of view from the different characters, which enables the reader to piece things together while the characters are still somewhat in the dark. I didn't want to stop reading and read until my eyes could no longer stay open. This was a thrilling and suspenseful read, and I highly recommend it for anyone who likes clean suspense.

Wow! If you pick up this book, you’d better hang on tight. This book is a crazy ride of things that you’d never expect to go wrong. I loved the way it kept me turning pages long after I should have been done.

One of my favorite things about this one was the cast of characters. There are so many. They are diverse and unique and that made this book really interesting. I didn’t have a hard time keeping up on any of the stories, though. The author did a really good job keeping things where they went.

It’s a bit tricky to come up with who would be the main characters in this one. I think it’s Greg and Marena Walker along with Scott Vaughn. But there are so many different perspectives throughout the book. I liked the way the author uses so many different perspectives from characters in this one. It gives the reader a great picture of exactly what happened and when.

If you like suspenseful books, this one is for you! The plot will keep you turning pages wanting to know just what is coming next. It’s a thriller for sure!

A vacation to the Carribean sounds delightful. I loved the descriptions of the area. It all sounds wonderful unless you witness a transfer of illegal merchandise. From that moment the characters are swept up in an adventure and a fight for their lives.

Greg and Marina are wonderful characters. I loved the way they worked together and protected each other when put in life-threatening situations. The book also features others who, in some way, are a part of the international scheme.

This book is full of suspense. I was caught up in the story and cheering for the good guys to win.

From page one, readers will be drawn to this intense, speed-up-your-heart-rate novel. This story will have readers on the edge of their seats throughout the entire story. And it will definitely keep readers up past their bedtime (which may or may not be a good idea). This story is full speed ahead on the suspense and mystery level too. It also brings to light the horrific problem of drug trafficking and the effect it has on those that get stuck sucked in and within its grasp. This read is definitely not for the faint of heart. It’s a story that is intriguing and horrifying all at once. Readers will not be able to put this fast paced story down.

Wrong Place, Wrong Time started off slow for me at first but as the action and suspense started unfolding I was hooked as a reader. The story has several moments where characters were either in the wrong place at the wrong time or the right place at just the right time. It was an action packed and suspenseful read. The descriptions were well-written and I could easily visualize the scenes and characters. It's well worth a read.

I received a free copy, however my opinion is my own.

This was the first time reading a book by this author and I hope it won't be the last. Harrison is a wonderful writer using vivid descriptions that immerse you into the story from the first chapter. All of the characters are brought to life so brilliantly that this book runs like a movie in your head. You are never thrown out of this story because of the fantastic plot. Once you start reading you are going to want to keep on reading.

This novel is told from many different POV's but is easy to follow. The novel begins with Greg and Marena Walker on a vacation in the Dominican Republic. That's where the good times end for them after witnessing a murder. The action and suspense in this novel never stops. I wondered throughout the novel who were the good and the bad guys. There were many questions wandering through my mind as I tried to piece this together.

Honestly, this is one of the best books I've read so far in 2019. This is why this book receives a 5-Star rating from me. I want more from this author, especially in this genre. This book is my top pick for your Summer reading!

Wow, this book was hard to put down! There were some key players in this story like Greg & Marena Walker, Scott Vaughn, and Wayne Hovey; and then there were some smaller characters introduced throughout which made the story interesting trying to figure out who were the "good guys" and the "bad guys".

I liked the suspense and flow of the book...Great characters and clean fiction without bad language and graphic violence. Highly recommend reading this thrilling book of cat and mouse suspense!

As a side note, these kind of stories-fiction or not-are the reason I don't travel internationally! LOL I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

This is the first book that I have read by Harrison and I was impressed! This is an action/suspense novel on a whole new level. I was hooked from page one and completely embedded into this drug running/illegal transporting world. Trying to figure out the big picture and wondering how the Walkers would ever survive kept me page turning until the very end. Never before could I imagine being on a beach vacation and stumbling onto a murder and known drug runner! But Harrison easily transports the reader into crazy heart pounding situations that keep you on your toes the entire time! This is an action/suspense novel that you do not want to pass on, so I suggest grabbing a copy! You will not be disappointed! I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Wrong Place Wrong Time is the latest from E. James Harrison, and it is the first book of his that I’ve read. This book had a very great attention getter at the beginning, but then it slowed down in the pacing and it took me a while to read until the book got really intense near the middle of the book. But the short chapters in this book allowed me to continue to make progress during the slow parts.

In the end, I enjoyed the book for the suspense moments, but not for the romance. That is pretty much non existent in this book. But the characters were awesome. I especially loved Wiggy Wiggy.

I highly recommend this book to all suspense readers.

Great read that help interest and was a page turner to the end. The author created suspense by bringing one more piece or character into the plot to keep you on your toe and keep twisting the outcome to more possibilities.

This is truly gripping, a thriller that’s not to be missed. Greg and Marena Walker' are on a Caribbean vacation. The water is beautiful, as are the beaches. The setting is idyllic. Their holiday of dreams turns to one of nightmares in mere moments when they discover that they were in the wrong place at the wrong time when they witnessed a murder.

Scott Vaughn is a smuggler, a dangerous one. He has no scruples and will do away with anything that hampers his plans. In this instance those in his way happen to be the Walkers. Vaughn too is a wanted man though, and his capture further thickens the plot. There is so much more to this interstate game of chase than initially meets the eye. You’ll be turning pages late into the night. The novel starts well but slows a little in the early chapter before picking up pace in the middle of the book. It remains fast paced, on the edge of your seat exciting for the remainder of the novel.

chase cntinues from Florida to a small town in Idaho through a snow storm, You will be turning pages to find out what happens next.

An intriguing novel of suspense and adventure.
E. James Harrison has written a compelling suspense novel. The focus is on the horrible situation that Greg and Marena find themselves in rather than a romance which made the suspense the most compelling part of the story. The prologue pulled me into the story immediately and the book didn't let go anywhere along the way. It was interesting to see the different perspectives as the story went on, including the bad guys and their motivations and actions and how they collided with the 'good guys' including Greg and Marena who came to the Domincan Republic for vacation and ended up in the 'wrong place' at the 'wrong time' and ended up facing death. I especially enjoyed the details about Greg and Marena's vacation and snorkeling trip before things went wrong. An enjoyable mystery full of suspense and sympathetic as well as evil characters, Wrong Place Wrong Time is a great choice for those who enjoy a good suspense story without all the romance.

Wrong place, wrong time - wrong description. The book I downloaded via NetGalley as 'Wrong Place, Wrong Time' by E. James Harrison dealt with law enforcement, drug and other "stuff" dealers running from the Caribbean to mainland USA. An innocent couple on holiday, the Walkers, went snorkelling for a day, were marooned for a night thanks to an engine failure and hence got caught up in wrong-doings. They saw an exchange of a suitcase, their boatman was murdered and they ran for their lives. Reporting to the local police was a stereotypical mistake as one of them was on the take. The Walkers escaped back to the USA where Homeland Security gave them a grilling although finally let them go but then used them as bait to catch the bad guys. These comprised a group of Asians with a very nasty and efficient go-between, Vaughn, who essentially moved 'goods' around very efficiently, ruthlessly and for a lot of money but with no conscience and no concerns other than payment. Given that the law now had a very good description of him, thanks to the Walkers, much of the book deals with the chase across from Florida to Utah in his attempts to remove them. Being winter there is also a lot of snow and descriptions of driving in it which, to my mind, went over the top at times and repetitive descriptions of it did not add to the story. The chasing also got a little, almost, farcical at times with the law/the Walkers/Vaughan/the Asians just missing each other by minutes, always choosing the same slightly sleazy Motel as each other. Still, while it was not the murder of a local radio personality that I was expecting, it was a reasonably exciting read, a bit gory at times though. It brought out the naivety of some people, the ruthlessness of others (both sides of the law) and tenacity of yet others. People and places were well characterised. Thanks to NetGalley and Covenant Communications for an advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

"Wrong Place, Wrong Time" is an engaging book of action, mystery, justice, and small-towns in Idaho. It starts off by introducing several different characters through the first few chapters. At first, you don't see how they will all connect because they're such different situations. From a beach in the Dominican Republic to the swamps of Florida to snow-covered southern Idaho, this book covers it all. If you like danger, scuba diving, rooting for the underdog and suspense, then this book is for you.
Marena and Greg are on vacation in the Dominican Republic and enjoying every minute of it until they see something unbelievable. Once they report what they've seen to the police, they decide to go back home to southern Utah. Along the way, they are held up in Florida by U.S. Customs but are not told why they're being asked all these questions. Once they arrive back home, they decide to do one more check on their mountain cabin in a little town in southern Idaho. Once there they experience snow, fear, gunshots, and more.
This book is a delightful tale of good defeating evil. If you're looking for an escape from the real world or something to divert you, this is a great choice.

This book was awesome! Excellently written, except for a few typos and misspellings (but I will forgive those minor errors, because the story compelled me right past them); exceptionally researched; and masterfully crafted, this story grabbed me right from the very start, and would not let me go until the last surprising sentence! The only reason I stopped reading during the four days I took to read it, was because I needed to get sleep so that I could go to work--regrettably, I HAVE to go to work (I wish I could get paid to read)--and to watch a friend during her horse riding competition--I read when she wasn't riding. Seriously, I did not want to put this book down. If you love to drink in suspense thrillers that are void of profanity and graphic violence, WRONG PLACE WRONG TIME will fill your thirst. E. James Harrison is an excellent writer.

A thriller that takes us all over the globe while building several crime threads then weaving them all into the actions of one very determined smuggler. As the story builds background, more characters are added, bringing the story very close to imploding from over population. But E James Harrison pulls it all together in time to give us a surprising ending. It's definitely a unique story line written in a unique style that still brings us to the right place at the right time.

This book was good and suspenseful. The only thing I didn’t love was there were several times in the book the author would introduce new characters and their storylines. I was confused a few times until you realized how they fit in. But besides that, it kept me very entertained. Honestly, the guy who did the audio is amazing and totally made the book! His different voices and accents are top notch! I’d listen to anything he narrates.

I don't read a lot of just suspense novels. I read them as a romance, as a historical fiction, as...well, mostly anything other than just suspense, so this novel was a little new and different for me. As soon as I got into this novel I just kept thinking that I would watch this as a movie. It was that fast paced. I'm more used to a slightly slower pace and more character development. This seemed a little more like a movie where you have to cram everything into two hours so you don't have a lot development going on. We don't really get to know any of the characters. We don't get to know what makes them click, why they do what they do. We just get a surface this is what is happening now and hold on tight because it's going to change in two seconds. I would have liked to have seen more of why Vaughn did what he did. He didn't originally want to take the job in the first place, so why go to such lengths that he did? Just for the money? While sometimes that would be believable, this was set up so that doesn't feel right.

I was also taken aback by how many characters there were in this novel. I'm used to two main characters, some minor characters and the bad guys. This just had a whole bunch of people. Granted, they were all necessary to the plot, which made it more believable, but sometimes it was a little hard to follow.

It was definitely fast paced, and a really quick read. You do keep wondering what's going to happen next, and that is the point of a suspense novel, so the author ticked all the boxes there. There is no swearing, there is some violence. Mostly the violence is gun shots, but there is a scene with a pitch fork that is gory.

I finished this book in an afternoon and to be honest it wasn’t because it was so good I couldn’t put it down it was more like what else is going to go wrong in this book. The premise is a couple witnesses a murder in the Dominican Republic and just like the title
Wrong place, wrong time but the events after we’re just kind of ridiculous. I found the situations were really far fetched and honestly not necessary. I found the book dragged on with bumble after bumble. There was introduction and character development that wasn’t really necessary and held no relevance to the events of the book. There were a lot of characters in the book as well and I sometimes felt overwhelmed. It’s a quick read and I wouldn’t not recommend it, it just wasn’t as well written as I’d hoped.

I was intrigued by this book immediately and then shocked with the outcome of the first chapter. I don't want to give away what happened, but I will say that throughout the story we are introduced to quite a few characters that have passing involvement. Although that is probably common for a suspense novel, most of the books I read have more character development, so I missed making connections to the characters. Even with the lack of depth, I did enjoy the story and wanted to know what would become of the bad guy.

I was surprised that Greg and Marena were so gutsy with Scott after what they witnessed him doing. I expected more fear and subservience, but their actions made for an entertaining story.
