Clara Lawrence never thought one simple word could define the rest of her life. She has a decision to make. But the constant lingering thought that she's held for the last six months has made it difficult. The past never seems to go away. Nolan Parker finds himself with everything he could ever dream of, except one thing, the love of his life. Clara Lawrence broke his heart and now he's slowly living a life after her. But when he sees her in his lobby months later, will they reconcile or will they pick up where they last left off, breaking each other's hearts all over again?
Avid English Breakfast tea sipper and romance author, Len Webster spends most of her days writing, saying good morning to her dogs with kisses or trying to explain how the internet renamed her to Leonard Webster.
The cities of the world might have inspired her, but her entire being is content and at home in a gorgeous, small pinned dot on the map of Melbourne, Australia where every beat, crack, and scar of her heart has influenced the way she tells her stories.
Away from the tea leaves and written words, Len can be found immersed in the food and culture of brand new cities on #TheLenFoodTour or forgetting that her framed Bachelor of Business and Commerce from Monash University still awaits its place on the hook on her wall—sorry, Mum!
Before you continue: If you've not yet read Thirty-Eight Days please do so before reading Thirty-Eight Reasons. Thirty-Eight Reasons is NOT a standalone. It is the second book in the Thirty-Eight Series and is the conclusion to Noel and Clara's story.
5 Beautiful Stars!! ☆☆☆☆☆
"Just give me today's sunrise, please." -Noel
Having read Thirty-Eight Reasons prior to its publication I can't tell you how ecstatic I was to finally read it after it was finally published! It felt like finally getting closure and healing. Noel and Clara have been through a lot and if you've read Thirty-Eight Days as well as Thirty-Eight Reasons you'll know that it wasn't an easy journey for them. Thirty-Eight Reasons picks up a few months after Clara and Noel break up because of thinking Alex, her brother, wouldn't approve and Clara believing lies about Noel and his ex, Valerie. At this point you'd think it can't get any worse..but it can and it does. Now Clara is engaged to and planning a wedding with Liam and Noel is living with his girlfriend Andrea. They're headed in different directions yet can't seem to let each other go or forget about the love they shared. It isn't until Clara decides to go see Noel in Boston on her way to visit Alex in hopes of salvaging what they once had and learning if it's worth it to choose Noel and not marry Liam when he's the safer choice. But one word from Noel and Clara is heartbroken and determined to let Noel go and live her life with Liam.
"She would make herself worthy of Liam. As long as he wanted to be with her then she would stay." ~Clara
One of the things I love most about Thirty-Eight Reasons is that there is struggling. It's real and it gets worse before it gets better. Both Noel and Clara are challenged in many ways and brought to the place of truly looking at their hearts and finding what's right for them. When it came to Clara and Liam I couldn't dislike him. He's completely sweet and loves Clara so I'd be crazy not to like him, buuut...he's not Noel. You can tell throughout the book that both Noel and Clara may love the people they're with but are only trying to mask the pain of not being together. Which only made me root for them more and had my love for them grow.
"I could only imagine what it would be like to have her as my wife. It was my biggest dream." -Noel
Circumstances and unexposed truth keep them apart but Noel, having always loved Clara, decides to fight to win her back. This is when I have my 'heck yes!' moment because it was about dang time. But with Clara believing that she's lost Noel forever she's set on Liam. With convincing from Noel, while watching sunrises together, Clara realizes she has a choice to make and she has to make it soon. Even at the risk of losing those she desperately cares about.
"She loved me first. I have to believe she loves me more." -Noel "Remember me. Remember us. Remember how perfect we are together." -Noel
The unfolding of Noel and Clara's story, their falling away and coming together, is one of the most beautiful love stories I have ever read. This series was made memorable for me because of the way it was written. I was able to feel the words. And feeling them never felt so good. I ached while they were hurting and bawled like a baby. I felt their love and anger...their happiness and sadness. To feel a connection and fall in love with each character despite their many flaws is what makes me truly love a story. Although I was sad to see Noel and Clara go I can have peace in knowing that they will always be there waiting for me to re-read their story whenever I want.
The second book is somehow worse than the first one.
There was so much unnecessary drama and back and forth, I almost got whiplash.
I hate it when in a romance the heroine and hero are with other people. I hate it even more when the reason they are separated in the first place is beyond stupid.
After a while I just couldn’t take it anymore and I skipped to the end (wasn‘t even halfway through).
Where do all these 4 and 5 stars reviews come from? Did we read the same book? Life is short and I was just too pissed with the characters to finish it all the way.
This book left me speechless, in tears, and wanting to find my one true love. I've always been a hopeless romantic and have been criticized for it but this book made me realize that true love/soul mate/lifelong partner is out there for me/everyone. Len is an awesome writer and she tell of love the way it happens in everyday life. It's worth all five stars and deserves to be a number one seller. give it a read, i guarantee yo will fall head over heels with it and with finding or cherishing your one true love.
I started this book in hope it would be better than the first one, but no. The story could have been resolved in the first 20% of the book, but for some inexplicable reasons, the two made decisions that didn't make sense at all. Sorry I had to give up
Already after reading Thirty-Eight Days I knew that the sequel would be just as great as the first book. With Thirty-Eight Reasons the story of Clara and Noel continues and gets you hooked from the start.
For me Thirty-Eight Reasons is by far the best book I’ve ever read!! It is so emotional and has such a unique and heartbreaking story, I just couldn’t put the book down until it was finished! A love so pure and honest as Clara and Noel's is so seldom that you have to hold on to it.
The whole book is so emotional and it is its own story which makes it special. The love of Clara and Noel is so unique and their path is so heartbreakingly sad that I couldn’t prevent to cry while reading. With all its own drama the book makes you believe in love again. In every chapter Len Webster succeeds to get you stuck for another one, and another one, until the whole book is finished. I’ve already read the series about 6 times and Len always manages to get me under her spell each time again.
No words can do this book justice.
For me there is no greater love story than this. Their love is so unconditional and real, it is something that you only dream of.
The book series is definitely one of the best love stories I’ve ever read and for every hopelessly romantic person it is the perfect book to read. I can’t wait for the next book by Len Webster.
I’m going to keep this relatively short because there is so much in this book that you really just have to experience it yourself. You must have read Thirty-Eight Days prior to this though.
This book frustrated me in the best possible way! I powered through it because I just needed to know what was going to happen. Despite being written in third person, you feel every emotion between Noel and Clara and the toing and froing is maddening to a degree but you understand it all.
The elusive Julian, younger brother of Rob, makes a number of appearances and he’s like this little ray of cheeky sunshine. He’s equally like a younger brother to Noel and an older brother to Clara so he has touching moments with both of them. I loved seeing more of Max too, who I’d pegged as a bit of a favourite right from the prologue on Thirty-Eight Days when I think he only said one sentence. With the strong group of supporting characters, there is so much potential for where this series can lead.
You wont enjoy Thirty Eight Reasons if you haven't read Thirty Eight Days. There are so many things that you will realize once you finish reading Reasons. It reflects true story in all of us, you'll learn a lot on how u will deal with the problems on a relationship. Thumbs up Len Webster for doing a great job! You have this unique writing skills!=)
Just finished this book loved it I couldn't put it down love what was going between the characters n what brought them together ... Amazing book I would highly recommend this book.. I can't wait to find out what happens with Stevie n Julian. . . until the next book
Nothing short of being wonderful just as the last book. I loved this sequel as well. It was a roller coaster of emotions, but it is an amazing book and I would read it all over again.
4.5 Stars for Clara and Noel WARNING THIS IS THE SECOND BOOK! THIS REVIEW HAS SPOILERS FOR THE FIRST!
Clara and Noel have split up? Noel has a new girlfriend? Clara is engaged to Liam? This book literally killed me. In a good way. Two people who are used to running have to fight to get there happy ending. I really tried to hate Liam and Andrea but I really could not. They are nice and understanding and in the end accepting. Clara's and Noel's friends are all very supportive and I absolutely love the whole story (needed just one day to read it) There where moments where I wanted to throttle Clara. I really did but I love her too much and in the end I am very happy. A book completely to my liking.
Better than the first book but still a lot of absurdity to it all. Finally Clara and Noel had their happy ending but this story could have been so much better if it hadn't gone back and forth dragging this story out. I liked this better but at the same time didn't. I basically just read this book to have closure of the story.. did a lot of flipping through pages though.
God this book got me so frustrated! I can't even describe the number of times I swore at my computer because of these two people! It was a great love story that made me go through all kind of emotions and I am so happy I read it!
Keep on fighting for the one you love, be humble and tell them how you really feel. Don't try and hide your feelings and move on without giving each other another chance
This book, just as the first one in the series, was a roller coaster of emotions. Len's writing always makes me feel. It's strange how words can be so powerful.
I very much enjoyed this book, it was addicting, just like the last one. I felt a hunger for it, while I had to put it down to do “real life stuff”, and I had to know how it ended.
At one point, I thought I could not take it anymore. It was too painful, too awful. How the main characters, Clara and Noel, just couldn't open up to each other. They just couldn't get a break. But this is what made those wonderful and loving moments even greater. Those moments where looks said it all, and how they needed and wanted the other ones love. But they were both taken, and they did feel love for them, but it was not the same, not as true or great as the love for each other.
Noel had made a few mistakes, but the way he fought for Clara's love was painful but beautiful to read.
For a love that great, the pain and the hurting made it even greater. Without the bad, it does not feel as good.
What a journey. I loved the character development of the other people in this book, and was glad to know that I can read their story too. I am off to read Stevie and Julian's story.

#0.5 Forever Starts Today #1 Thirty-Eight Days #2 Thirty-Eight Reasons #3 What You Left Behind (#1 Left Behind)
These books are very long for romance! This one dragged a bit and I felt like a majority of it was just a serious case of same shit different day. But the ending was cute. 4.3 stars
