Tracked, fourth in the Mindspeak series, can be listened to as a stand-alone novel.
A year-old murder in the rainforest of Costa Rica haunts Raven MacMillan. Details of the tragedy she witnessed remain suppressed deep inside her subconscious. When circumstances force her to return to the scene of the crime, someone makes it abundantly Raven isn't welcome.
Finally healing from his girlfriend's murder, human clone Kyle Jones is on a find the stolen trackers scientists are using to control the actions of innocent children. When he meets Raven, he uses his supernatural gift to explore her repressed memories and discovers the missing trackers have everything to do with who is now watching Raven. And who killed his first love.
As past and present collide, Raven struggles to face her demons, but remembering the truth of that fateful night could prove fatal. And Kyle will do anything to ensure the past isn't repeated.
Heather Sunseri was raised on a tiny farm in the smallest of towns in thoroughbred horse country near Lexington, Kentucky. After high school, she attended Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, and later graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in accounting. Always torn between a passion for fantasy and a mind for the rational, it only made sense to combine her career in accounting with a novel-writing dream.
Heather now lives in a different small town on the other side of Lexington with her two children, and her husband, Mike, the biggest Oregon Duck fan in the universe. When she’s not writing or working as a CPA, she spends her time tormenting her daughter’s cat, Olivia, and loving on her son’s Golden Retriever, Jenny. MINDSPEAK is her first published novel.
Was hesitant to read this book beacuse its a spinoff from the mindspeak series. I wasnt sure kyle was a strong enough character to carry the book but I was so wrong!!! Couldnt stop reading. Kyle and the new characters were amazing! I loved how original characters were included too!
Started off slow, only reason I gave 4 stars. It picked up and went in directions I would have never thought of, so it was really good. I'm glad this is not the end of Raven and Kyle's adventures. Looking forward to reading more about the other clones as well.
AMAZING Tracked took a whole new spin on the series. I loved how we were shifted from Jack and Lexi's POV's and got into the mind of a character who was going through so much of his own pain. His emotions rang through just as much as Raven's confusion and frustration was present. Though there were several plot bombs that I had to work through myself (Brianna not being there, Addison still mission, what is happening on Palmyra). However, the story continues to twist my mind and question the motives of characters. I love the turns that they all take and the build up of their personalities blend so well together. I am hoping that here are many more stories to come for this gang. Their fate is hanging on the edge of sanity in my brain! I must know what Sandra's doings have caused!
Having read and enjoyed the first three books in the series a few years ago, I thought I would revisit the story of a group of cloned teenagers with mind powers.
This was a continuation of that world with one of the same characters, but mostly separate and only somewhat related. It took forever to get to the meat of the story. Although our heroine Raven was an interesting character, it was nearly to the end of the book where any relevance between her and Kyle (one of the original clones in Costa Rica for the summer with Raven).
I may venture to the fifth book in the series, but won't be rushing.
This book is now officially my favorite in the Mindspeak Series. I love the setting in the Rain Forest of Costa Rica which made me feel like I got a little glimpse of what my daughter will experience on her Service Trip to Ecuador next week.
I love the new character, Raven. The book grabs your attention right in the beginning with a mysterious phone call eluding to tragic events that Raven can't bring herself to remember. Little does she know those events will bring series alum, Kyle, into her life and set up a summer of mystery and suspense leading to a life-changing revelation. You will not be able to put this one down!
Although this book is #4 in the Mindspeak series, it can easily stand alone---but will really make you want to go back to books 1, 2, & 3!
I really enjoy the interactions between the original seven characters. I am amazed at how the author continually plots and reveals new directions they grow into. The complexity of the author's first main storylines continues in each book, revealing more of the meaning behind those plot twists and switchbacks, almost like a holographic multi dimensionality. Can't wait for the next book.
I was so sad to see the story line of the first three books in this series wasn’t gonna continue but was not AT ALL disappointed in the new character we started following. Just enough suspense to keep you reading!
The book I read was called tracked. The setting of this book took place in Costa Rica. The story of this is book is about a girl named Raven and how she witnessed a murder a year ago in Costa Rica. She has returned to face her demons and find answers. At the same time a boy named Kyle has come to Costa Rica to find a doctor named Dr.Portman. Kyle is a clone along with some others who have inherited supernatural abilities. He enters into Ravens life and tries to help her with problems. They soon find out that there lives are connects with this doctor. Raven is soon attacked and injected with something and they find out its a tracker. Soon Kyle's friends come down to put a stop to the doctor and help get rid of the trackers. Raven finds out about Kyle and the others and soon realizes that she also has supernatural abilities due to the tracker. A man named Felipe and dr.Portman come after Raven and the others. They all soon go into hiding, then Raven goes to the spot of the murder to see if there were any connections to now. The doctor and Felipe hold her hostage and make her remember to help her see how it all fits to together. After she knows the truth dr.Portman stabs her in the chest to get the tracker out of her, as she is dying Kyle and the rest help save her and put the doctor in jail. In the end Raven has to decide whether to keep her abilities, she soon decide to keep them and plains to head with Kyle to help her control her abilities. In the book I saw many cultural differences with the Costa Rican people than people in the US. The people down there live a very different life. They play music in the streets and have dancing to give a warm vibrant feeling. The foods they have are different, they eat certain foods that aren't that common for the American people. The style of there is clothes Is different as well is there way of life. They people in Costa Rica certain there lives around religion. They make everything they do off religion to help them and others in life. The authors purpose for writing this text was to how the worst things can happen to people but they always can over conquer the problems. The evidence I have to support this is that the whole book is about this. Raven witnesses a terrible event which lead to the death of a friend and her in pain and misery. Her decided to return to Costa Rica to help bring closure to her friends and herself show how this awful event had control of her life but now she wants to be in control and conquer the pain. She is finding clues and asking many questions when she returns, she has dreams to see if anything new happens. She even goes through a trance to get the memories back to feel closure and help get the murderer who ruined her life and many others around. The theme of this book can many like the theme of control over one another or how much you try to hide something it always resurfaces in your life. Evidence to prove these themes is the event that happened that Raven. This murder had total control over her and what her life should be. It made her more scared to do anything, she felt like doing anything would result in a murder again. The murder kept around her 24/7 in her thoughts and dreams. With the other theme it is shown in Costa Rica. She came to help her parents but soon people start asking her questions about the event even though she didn't want to talk about it. Even though she didn't want anything to do with the event it came back to her life in a major way. She kept it hidden as long as she could until it was necessary for her to find out and resurface back into her life. I would definitely recommend this book. This book has so many good things about it. It has mystery, adventure, action, betrayal and love. A lot happens in this book and the way the author ties everything together is so good. She does it like a perfect bow on a present. The connection between the characters is amazing and fascinating. The author knows how to connect to the audience to make them feel wanted and she makes the story make you sit on the edge of your seat most of the time, she makes you want to read more with great cliffhangers, so in my full opinion I would stronger recommend reading this book.

Like the first Mindspeak book, Tracked starts out a little slow, but once it really gets going, it doesn’t slow down again. It was left completely open for additional books (and I do hope the author writes more!), but the story can end here. It occurs in the same “world” as the first three Mindspeak books, not long after the end of the third one, with some of the same characters, but in a totally different setting. It is more or less able to be a standalone book (it is surely better having read Mindspeak, Mindsiege, and Mindsurge first, however). I definitely recommend this book for Mindspeak fans and anyone who enjoys young adult books.
I enjoyed this book, which is essentially the story about how Raven and Kyle meet. I found myself rooting for them to get together, despite the odds! It takes place in the new setting of Costa Rica. As always, plenty of suspense as we try to unravel the mystery behind Raven's missing memories, and how they tie into the series.
This book was great!!! It wasn't only an amazing continuation of the Mindspeak series, but also a great standalone book of you don't want to read the rest of the series. Totally recommend it for anyone who likes a little suspense with some sifi and a bit of a romance story.
I have to say that I was very curious to see how Heather would plot a spin-off book to the Mindspeak series and if it would be as good as the original series. Curiosity satisfied! It was excellent. This book was just as captivating as the Mindspeak series. Amazing job!
Kyle and a new character, Raven, carry this book with old friends showing up here and there. A nice continuation of the story in a new direction. I am excited more for the next book because I can see the direction that it's heading and I enjoy Raven.
OMG this was AMAZING, I didn't know what to expect since at the start it was from someone new and their POV, but then seen that Kyle had the male lead instead of Jack. I must say I like the spin off and where it can lead, my mind has several possibilities running through it
Have read the three previous books in this series . Couldn't put them down! Edge of your seat excitement. Looking forward to book 5. Such easy read that I will complete all the books within less than a week.
I have completely fell in love with the mindspeak series. I love watching the characters develop and I'm excited to hopefully see more books added soon.
I can't seem to put these books down once I start them. They are interesting and heartwarming at times. I've just purchased the next book and can't wait to start it
