The middle of the night is the wrong time to be caught alone. But Sophia’s running from the only home she’s ever known. She's from a cult in the heart of Kansas. She’s looking for redemption and a brand new start. She wants to try all the things she never had. Including having her very first kiss and so much more. I’m the only person man enough to give it to her. Come hell or high water, I’ll claim Sophia no matter what it takes.
A fast-paced knight in shining armor short read featuring the MC road captain, a gritty past, and a romantic first time that leads to happily ever after.
”I found the love of my life by being home at the right time. If that’s not a miracle, I don’t know what is."
Kelsie Calloway is quickly becoming a favorite author for me. This book is sweet but it also deals with tough subjects- like cults.
I love the heroine Sophia! She's an innocent sweetheart who just wanted to escape her home. Rip is a big, burly biker who takes one look at her and falls in love. It's sweet and steamy, the perfect combination. Five stars.
safety: virgin heroine no OM/OW no cheating/sharing safe HEA ♡

Sophia had belonged to a cult her whole life until one day she was brave enough to escape which led her to Rip’s door one night early in the morning. Rip had taken her in for the one night but it turned into so much more. Since Sophia knew so little about the outside world Rip was with her every step of the way to teach her “everything” to know about life.
This was a quick, sweet read that I read in one sitting. I always look forward to this author’s work.
Rip is the fourth installment in the Black Devil’s MC series by Kelsie Calloway. This slow burn romance is part of an interconnected series but can be read as a standalone.
Sophia Nelson is a sweet, shy, and innocent 19-year-old girl. She has been raised in a cult called Church of Divine led by her controlling and abusive father, Brendan. She has suffered greatly at the hands of her parents and decides to plan her escape before she is married off to someone old enough to be her grandfather. She flees the compound with just a few belongings and heads out on foot. Rip Bollinger is a member of the Black Devil’s motorcycle club. He works as a bouncer at Overland Park bar and mostly keeps to himself. Late one night after work, he hears a knock on his door and finds Sophia on his doorstep. She is covered in dirt with cuts and scrapes. She oozes innocence and he feels compelled to help her.
Rip was sweet, slow, and gentle with Sophia. I loved that he was this bad boy biker that ended up being her knight in shining armor. He takes care of her and members of his motorcycle club pitch in to help. This was a slow burn romance but it was a short story that was fast paced. I really enjoyed the characters, plot, and the sweet romance. There is also some steam sprinkled in which is great.
Tropes: Motorcycle club romance, cult survivor, age gap, virgin heroine, sweet alpha male Heat: 2/5.
You never know what you will find when you open your door
Rip is the fourth book in The Black Devils MC series and is the story of Sophia Nelson and Rip Bollinger. She has been brought up in a cult/commune and is about to be married off to a much older man. But she is determined to be free and so she plans her escape. Late one night she runs away and ends up in a potentially bad situation. Her quick wits let her get away and she ends up on Rip's doorstep all bruised up. Rip takes one look at the beautiful, frightened and lost younger woman and he knows he has to help her, take care of her and make sure she is safe. He offers her his spare room and helps her establish a new life with the help of the other men and woman from the MC. It seems that Sophia has found a new family and Rip has found a woman who captures his heart.
I enjoyed the 50ish pages I read of this book, but it felt like it ended abruptly and skipped over the relationship development portion by telling us what happened instead of letting us experience it. We didn't really get the HEA. It just ended. I have read several books by Kelsie Calloway, and I will probably read more in the future. I enjoyed the bit of character development we did get. I think the storyline was just a bit too deep to do well in such a short read.
It felt like this was the first act. I can't believe that the strong woman that ran away and escaped an assault would not try to find a way to stop her abusive father. But even moreso, I can't wrap my head around an Alpha male, MC member in a club like the Black Devils would let someone like Brendan Nelson continue unchecked without any intervention.
Sophia Nelson is 20 years old. Her father, Brendan Nelson, is the leader of the Church of the Divine. It is basically a commune/cult in St. Marys. Brendan wants to marry Sophia off to one of his buddies who are in their 50s and 60s. That is the last straw for Sophia and she runs away.
Rip Bollinger is a member of the Black Devils MC. He was once left at the altar so is not big into relationships. He works as a bouncer. Luckily, he got sent home early one night.
Sophia shows up on Rip's doorstop at 2 am all scraped up and bloody. Rip cleans her up.
What happens now? Will Rip let Sophia stay with him? Will Sophia open up and tell Rip who she is running away from? Will Sophia's dad find her?.

Sophia is in a cult and is desperate to escape. However, she meets up with some bad men who offer her a ride. She bails from the car and ends up banging on Rip's door at 2am asking for help. She's hesitant to be in his house at first, frightened by his large stature, but soon realizes all he wants to do is protect and help her. When he reaches out to the rest of his MC they are quick to offer up any help they can. Eventually their living together and being comfort to one another lead to a romantic relationship. Rip is so sweet and caring with Sophia that it just warms my heart to think that men like him might really exist in the world.

This short and steamy romance was fantastic! I loved the characters, the story is unique and entertaining, and the book ends on a high note. Rip and Sophia couldn’t be more opposite but that’s what makes them so great together. Sophia has escaped her father’s cult as well as danger on her way to freedom. Luckily for her, she finds Rip. A steamy biker who wants to protect her and give her the experiences she’s never had before. Rip is amazing. He’s gentle when he knows she needs it, protective, and rough when she asks for it. Read their romance today. You will love their story!

Sophia is taken advantage of as she tries to escape from her "religious" upbringing, and knocks on Rip's door at an ungodly hour. It's a sweet story with just a bit of steam. While I really like the story and characters, the ending is a bit anti-climactic - it just ends, with no resolution to Sophia's past and family issues. I love her innocence, and how gentle and caring Rip is toward her. Also, the MC really steps up to make her feel like she's part of the family. This is the 4th book in this series, and this is Sophia and Rip’s journey. Sophia was brough up in a cult, and has plucked up the courage to escape, and after finding herself in a dangerous situation, she ends up on Rip’s doorstep. Rip is determined to keep Sophia safe and protected, with some help from his MC brothers. This is a fast paced, quick read, which is sweet, with romance, emotions, and love, which leads to a steamy [age turner. Sophia escapes her families compound that’s run by a cult leader. In this cult they marry the females off at 18 to older men.
Sophia doesn’t want this same fate, so she escapes and hitches a ride far away. During this ride the passenger tries to assault her, so she bails out the truck. Showing up with cuts and bruises on RIP’s door step, he can’t bare to see the injured woman.
You then see how Sophia blossoms away from the cult rules and how her relationship grows with RIP. Short, sweet, and cute.

To avoid an impending arranged marriage to a much older man, Sophia (h) flees the abusive cult she's been raised in. After a near assault, Sophia comes knocking for help from Rip (H), a road captain for the Black Devils MC. Rip takes her into his home and life, and with the help of his MC friends, he helps her build a new life. But Sophia wants more from Rip than just friendship and their relationship moves into the hot and steamy realm. Sweet heat MC romance!
Quick but sweet (and that sounds so weird for an MC book) read. It’s hard to review a short book without giving to much away. Sophia was raised in a cult. When she gets away, she shows up on Rip’s front step. He’s such a good guy and when it comes to Sophia, he takes his time with her. Like I said, a really sweet book
The author has given us a wonderful story that pulls us into the lives of Sophia and Rip and does not let go. The story keeps us turning the pages with fear, empowerment and love.

The story of Rip and Sophie was a good one. She escaped from a bad life situation and he is a sexy mc member. There was hot chemistry and instant love mixed into this story. It's a definite must read.
A sweet, charming and entertaining romance. Rip and Sophia are cute together. He’s kind, patient and loving towards a girl who hasn’t had that in her life. I adored this cute story.
The book was going along so well and then it ended. Not a cliffhanger. I think it's a HFN but no indication that some conflict is coming. I felt there might conflict because her father is looking for her. Meh
I have to admit that I read this book simply because my daughter's name is Kelsie. ha ha It was a decent, but very short, MC romance. It didn't bowl me over, and parts of it were pretty cheesy, but I finished it, so I'd give it 3 stars.
Rip and Sophia are a cute couple. I didn't love the whole cult escape premises, but it didn't dominate the story. It just explained her naivete. Overall, it's a nice short story. It could have definitely been a little longer, though.
Was a good read and there wasn’t anything I could pick out that I didn’t like about the book. I think because it’s out of the norm in terms of what I usually read or look for in a book I couldn’t quite get into it. Maybe in the future I’ll try and give it another shot
Sophia escapes from a difficult situation..a cult. She needs to get out and fast. RIP is not expecting Sophia to show up at his door and change his life. This is a quick paced story about trusting others and most importantly…trusting yourself.
A sweet, charming and entertaining romance. Rip and Sophia are cute together. He’s kind, patient and loving towards a girl who hasn’t had that in her life. I adored this cute story.
