Flight to Barbados. Check. Sleep with the boss' son. Er...also check.
When Claire was sent to Barbados for work, she intended to have a bit of fun in the sun while she was there. It was there she met a cute guy named Ary who seemed just as interested in having fun as she did. A wild night of passionate sex followed.
However, when Claire woke up the next morning, things got a little bit awkward. She realized Ary was her boss' son, and it was clear he wanted more than just one night with her.
Would her boss be happy if this secret got out? And was Ary more than just one-night stand material?

DNF. This book was a contradictory hot mess. What I expected was a light hearted romance. What I got was a heroine that wasn’t likable and actions that didn’t add up. I couldn’t get past the first chapter....where Claire has unprotected sex with a guy she met moments before in a club because “she knew she had nothing to worry about with him .” I was treated to odd descriptions like describing a kiss as “normal physically just four lips twisted into each other”. If you’re wondering wth, you are not alone. There’s also a ridiculous line about them both having green eyes and because of that it causes a physical connection pulling them closer. (Rolls eyes) Yeah okay. We are told countless times how sassy Claire is. How much attitude she has. But she keeps it in check because her job pays so well. Then why does she live in a tiny cramped apartment with a view of the dumpsters? Claire isn’t even remotely likable. She’s a sassy black girl trope. Light skinned with long straight hair and green eyes. Sassy but supposedly with a heart of gold. Instead she comes across as rude, insipid and overdramatic. She literally realizes she slept with the boss’s son and her legs nearly give out and her blood runs cold. (Rolls eyes so far back I just saw my brain) Being nervous? Shocked? Absolutely. Practically fainting? It was not that serious girlfriend. I made it one chapter before I stopped reading. I couldn’t bring myself to care about any of these characters. Or the weird descriptions. Or the countless times I was beat over the head about their “emerald eyes.” Ok we get it she’s biracial and he’s hot geez! ( my eyes are now facing the back of my head at this point)
You know what was awkward? This book. Just don’t.

I liked the book, things did get awkward. The storyline was interesting with the bosses son being the fun night and she didn't know who he was. I enjoyed reading about how things would go from there, interesting.
