The Rules of the Bachelor Pact – Never stay the night...

Parker

All I ever wanted was to be part of a family. But that’s what I have found in The Bachelor Pact.

That's why I’ve moved into the Heritage Hill Inn in Cedar Falls. To help with the renovations and plan my next move.

I wasn’t looking to meet anyone, but sometimes people are meant to show up in your life I guess. Delaney is everything I didn’t know I was looking for. But I made a promise to the guys…Never stay the night.

Delaney

I should know better than to fall for the dirty-talking confirmed bachelor Parker.

But no one said anything about getting stuck in a cozy, snowbound log cabin together and indulging in a scorching, no-strings fling!

Parker Scott may have a reputation as “the nice guy,” but he’s also a ruggedly sexy commitment-phobe who does more than just sweet-talking! So despite the sizzling chemistry crackling between us, I don’t take his flirty innuendos too seriously. And that suits me fine, I’ve sworn off relationships for good.

But everything changed that weekend. Now I’m hopelessly addicted to Parker’s unique mix of tenderness and sin. Was this eternal bachelor perhaps not so sworn to the pact after all?

One Liner: Feels too rushed

Cedar Falls

Parker moved into the Heritage Hill Inn in Cedar Falls to plan his next move while renovating the place. He joined the Bachelor Pact and found a family with his friends. He didn’t want to meet anyone, but life had other plans!

Delaney doesn’t want relationships either, so she is fine flirting with Parker. If being stuck in a cabin leads to a fling, why not? But as they get closer, they have to decide what they want.

The story comes in Parker and Delaney’s first-person POVs.

My Thoughts:

See, romance is one of my favorite and go-to genres. I love small-town romance for the cozy vibes and sweet characters.

In theory, this book has everything to be a 4-star read. The characters are easy to like, and the friends are good. The setting is beautiful. The overarching plot is fun. There is spice. There are lovey-dovey scenes. There is a life lesson about taking risks and doing what you love (career-wise). A perfect list of ingredients.

I enjoyed the descriptions of the place, the log cabin, the snow, etc.

The side characters were interesting indeed. Beck, despite his OTTness, shows good promise.

The discussions around career risks and decisions were my favorite part of the book. Those were well done and realistic.

But…

The romance was so rushed!

Since it was a small book, the plot moved too quickly, even for insta-love. There wasn’t enough foundation for the characters to make such drastic changes to their decisions about relationships so soon after meeting each other.

Don’t get me wrong. I like low-stakes romance more than angsty romance. The latter feels too dramatic and gives me stress. However, there should be something for me to hold on to in the plot.

The spice was neither here nor there. I’ve read some really hot spice in books as well as sweet and wholesome romances by the same publisher. This one doesn’t seem to fit anywhere. The dirty talk was boring, maybe coz it felt so odd and unnatural (on that note, VH Nicolson writes it well). I might have liked this more if it had been closed-door.

There was a HEA and all, which was good and in line with the genre. If the relationship progressed a bit slowly, it would have been a 3-star at least.

To summarize, Desired Hearts is a short book with nice characters and quick romance. If you want something to keep you occupied for a couple of hours, you can try this out.

Thank you, NetGalley and Boldwood Books, for the eARC. This review is voluntary and contains my honest opinion about the book.

Just finished reading a book called, Desired Hearts. This is about Parker, who is living in Cedar Falls helping one of his best friends, Mason, work on renovating the inn. Parker had his own reasons for agreeing to their group's Bachelor Pact back when they were in college, he doesn't want to one day end up like his parents' failed marriage. But then Parker meets Delaney. She's the perfect girl for Parker, and just like Parker, she's not looking for love. Delaney just had her heart broken, so the last thing she wants is another relationship, but that doesn't mean she's against some good company and a little fun. When the group ends up in a cozy cabin together, the snow and cold weather does little to stop the heat and attraction between Parker and Delaney. They decide to just keep things casual between them, but they both are secretly falling for each other.
This story was fantastic! I flew through it in a matter of a few hours, I couldn't put it down! I love the small town vibes, and the winter setting for this book was just perfect! I loved getting Parker's story, after getting to know him some in the first book I was excited for his story. And I loved getting more of the lives of the other characters throughout this story! The chemistry between Parker and Delaney was off the charts! I loved this story so much! I can't wait to start book 3 next! 🩵📚

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 rated up
🌶️.75 just the right amount

Oh this is a sweet one!
Delaney, not long being heart broken by her on and off ex, decides there’s no more looking back, no more men, and plenty of time with friends.
What didn’t expect was to meet Parker, a local who’s renovating their mutual friends Inn.
Parker has a pact with his friend, staying single is their mission in life after witnessing too much heartbreak.
But Parker breaks a rule and finds himself falling for Delaney.

This was sweet, a little emotional, laugh out loud funny moments and just the right amount of spice to keep you warmed up on a cold winter night!
Do I recommend it? Absolutely!
Do I want to read more by the author? YES!
Thank you so much to the author and team for allowing me to read this beautiful romance 🫶🏻

This is a story about Delaney and Parker. Both with past issues that make them reluctant to fall in love or start a new relationship. This story is cute, and happy, with no major drama. Both Delaney and Parker respect each other and work through their differences and issues together as a team. They have great chemistry. The story of the boys bachelor pact is good (4 friends, sworn to be bachelor's forever!), and I wonder who will cave next. This is a good, quick read, if you're looking for something with little drama and good, kind characters!

I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to the author, the publisher and Netgalley for allowing me the privilege of being able to read this book!

I was so ready to fall back in love with the world of the Bachelor Pact boys and I wasn't disappointed! This series you could say are technically interconnected stand alones and Cissy Mecca does a fantastic job of catching you up throughout the book where needed if you haven't read the first book 'Fallen Hearts'. However I'm really glad to have been able to read the first book and this second book genuinely feels like coming home. If you've already read the first book, the second could slightly come across a little disjointed or distracting because of the catch ups but for me I just reminded myself that well this was apart of the series it was also all its own book and it might lead someone to pick up and read 'Fallen Hearts' as well.

Well Delaney and Parker are no Pia and Mason. Their story is still amazing! It's honestly refreshing now a days to have characters who actually feel human and real and boy do they. They have actual real jobs, regular hangouts with friends and those who feel like family, real issues to contend with, and true dreams and aspirations. Those of which I was stupidly giddy when they came about. As many of the characters note in the story yes Parker and Delaney are opposites for a lot of their likes, but it's the things they love that they share the most, that makes them work.

When you read their story it's almost like you're one of the gang and you're along for the ride in setting up your two best friends, because you just know despite their likes they're perfect for each other because of who they are. They totally are, they bring out the best in each other and its everything! I also genuinely love how they try and work everything out like real adults and don't get me started on Delaney's affirmations they are perfect and really resonated with me and worked so well here along with the rereference to momento mori. This is more than a love story, this is about following your heart, living in the moment, finding and following your dreams, and that you never have to truly do it all alone. A lot of personal moments in this book are going to stay with me. I loved coming back to this world, with two characters who's stories I knew would come together eventually and I'm so glad they did! I loved this book! That epilogue totally got me and I can't wait for future books!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart again I truly appreciate it!

I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher, via NetGalley. This in no way impacted on my view.

Newly out of an on-again, off-again relationship, Delaney is ready to spend time focusing on herself and her friendships. She doesn't need nor want a man, so why is she finding herself drawn to Parker. Parker is in town to help his friends Mason and Pia renovate their inn, and set himself up to run his own construction company, rather than working for someone else. He made a pact with his friends years ago to always remain a bachelor, because he's seen how parent's romances affected the whole family. However, meeting the beautiful pharmacist and artists, Delaney, he starts to forget his pledge, and being trapped in a cozy log cabin blurs the lines even further.

I immediately dove into Desired Hearts as soon as I finished Fallen Hearts because I was hooked by Cissy's writing. We met both Delaney and Parker in the previous book, friends of protagonists, and it was nice seeing their own story. Delaney became a pharmacist to please her family, but her passion has always been in art, and she would love to own her own studio and teach. Parker is in construction, but working for someone else is becoming more and more of a drag. Helping with the renovation on the inn is just what he needs, and spending time with his friends at the remote log cabin has given him a drive to start out on his own. I really liked how he and Delaney became friends, before they gave into their attraction. They're complete opposites, but somehow it just works. Another one bites the dust when it comes to the pact, and I can't wait to see the others fall.

I was so happy to be an ARC reader for this book. Thank you to NetGalley and, of course, Cissy Mecca!

Desired Hearts takes place in the small town of Cedar Falls in the Finger Lakes region of New York, and I love small-town romances, so I was excited to read this.

The main male character, Parker Scott (32), is considered the “nice one” among his group of friends. He doesn’t do hookups, but he’s not really into relationships either, mostly due to his parents' marriage having problems; he has a complicated relationship with his father, which leads to trust issues explored throughout the book. Parker wants to start his own construction company, and he and his friends have a “bachelor pact,” meaning they’ve sworn off dating anyone.

The main female character, Delaney Thorton, is a pharmacist in her late 20s. She’s a glass-half-full kind of person, but feels stuck in her life. She went into the medical field following her mother’s path, but would have much rather been an artist. She was recently out of an on-and-off relationship, and she’s determined never to date again. However, fate brings her and Parker together, first at the pharmacy where she works, then through their friends, since her friend Pia is married to one of Parker’s friends, Mason (From book 1 of the Bachelor Pact: Fallen Hearts).

Delaney and Parker share some really cute and fun flirting moments. I enjoyed how their emotional struggles felt genuine, especially Delaney’s hesitation to start her own art business and quit working at the pharmacy, and Parker’s trust issues in relationships. That said, their transition from “no dating” to a physical relationship felt a bit sudden for me, giving off an insta-love vibe, which isn’t my favorite. Also, the pet name “Cupcake” felt a little out of place for my taste.

Around the middle of the book, I found myself wishing there had been more buildup to their feelings and relationship. I think the insta-love aspect was a bit of a challenge for me, but the writing style was lovely, and the small-town settings always add charm. If you enjoy quick, sweet romances with a touch of insta-love, this might be a good fit!

I also really loved Parker and his friend group; they always had such funny banter. I’d like to see what’s next for the rest of Parker’s friends (especially Cole) and the Bachelor Pact Series.

I received this as a ARC in exchange for a honest review.

This was my first book by this author and it didn’t disappoint! I love discovering new authors. Desired Hearts is the second book in the series but I don’t think it matters. I didn’t feel like I’d missed anything. This book focuses on Parker and Delaney’s story. This felt like a fairly straightforward love story, with a bit of spice.

Delaney has sworn off men after getting out of a bad relationship where her ex really made her doubt herself in every way. She’s working in the local pharmacy as the lead pharmacist in the small town she moved to as a teenager, dreaming of another job. She’s just trying to get over her ex and to start living again.

Parker made a pact with 3 of his friends - Mason, Cole and Beck, that he met in college. It’s a bachelor pact, to stay single. They each made it for valid reasons after witnessing the unhealthy relationships of their parents (although in Mason’s case it was watching his heartbroken dad after his mother passed away). Parker has moved to the same small town and is working in construction dreaming of owning his company. Mason has already reneged on the pact and then Parker meets Delaney. Whilst they have friends in common, they’ve never officially met. The first meeting is funny. They’re ’set up’ on a coffee date in order to get to know each other which ends up clearing the air, but they also come to enjoy each other’s company. They both realise they have a natural chemistry, which makes it very easy for them to communicate. Although Delaney is adamant that it’s not a date and Parker, whilst respecting her decision really wants to get to know her better. And makes it known.

Throughout the book, I love the relationship between the ‘boys’, how they tease each other like brothers would. I love how supportive the girls are of each other and how they integrate seamlessly with the boys.

Parker as a character is lovely, I love how he teaches Delaney that are still genuine nice guys out there, and they just can’t stay away from each other. There are no real bumps in the road that stop this couple from being together and it's not long before their romance is all systems go and then the spice starts.

This is a fun, straightforward romance that’s a perfect summer read with HEA.

Cissy Mecca is taking us back to the cozy charm of Cedar Falls, and every time she does, I never want to leave! Desired Hearts is the second story in the Bachelor Pact series, and this time we get to fall head over heels watching Parker and Delaney stumble their way into something neither of them was looking for—but definitely needed.

Parker Scott is the nice guy of his Bachelor Pact crew. The dependable one. The guy who’ll always do the right thing, help a friend, and treat people well. Just don’t ask him to commit—he’s convinced long-term relationships are a trap, thanks to the messy examples he grew up with.

Delaney Thornton is new to Cedar Falls, keeping to herself despite her bestie Pia being engaged to Parker’s best friend, Mason. She’s perfectly happy minding her business and dodging attachments—until a hilariously awkward pharmacy pickup throws her directly in Parker’s path. Sparks fly, banter crackles, and suddenly those walls they’ve both built aren’t looking so sturdy anymore.

Their chemistry? Effortless and electric. Their banter? Flirty and fun. And let me just say, discovering that the “nice guy” likes to talk dirty? Absolutely delightful. Parker and Delaney’s commitment hang-ups felt refreshingly real, and watching them navigate their fears while falling for each other had me grinning the whole time.

The Bachelor Pact series is the perfect blend of spicy small-town romance and found family feels. Cissy Mecca has a knack for making you feel like part of the friend group, cheering for every happily ever after. While this is the second book, you can totally jump in without feeling lost—just be prepared to add the rest to your TBR immediately. I can’t wait to see which bachelor bites the dust next!

Desired Hearts by Cissy Mecca, book two in The Bachelor Pact series, is the emotional, heartwarming, Parker and Delaney’s friends to lovers, small town romance set in Cedar Falls. Parker Scott is the nice guy, the dependable one of his Bachelor Pact crew; the one who always does the right thing, helps a friend, and treats people well. After witnessing too much heartbreak between his mother and father, he swore off relationships. Parker moved to Cedar Falls where he works construction, dreaming of owning his company, and currently working on renovating his friend’s Inn

Delaney Thornton returned to Cedar Falls to shortly after being hurt and heartbroken by an ex who made her doubt herself in every way. She’s working in the local pharmacy as the lead pharmacist in the small town she moved to as a teenager, dreaming of another job. She’s just trying to get over her ex and to start living again. A hilariously awkward pharmacy pickup puts her directly in Parker’s path.

Both have decided they did not want a relationship, but with off the charts chemistry that sizzled and sparked, not wanting to be apart, sharing friends who they spent time together, all worked to tear down the walls they both built, breaking their resolve to stay single. Once again the pact is broken, fine paid as Parker broke the rules by falling for Delaney. I loved the relationship between the boys, how they tease each other like brothers would and how supportive the girls are of each other; seamlessly blending in with the boys. This was an enjoyable and entertaining read that touched my heart.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

4 stars.

I liked the first book of the series and I liked this (the second part) too. The small town of Cedar Falls is a nice background, and I love the four friends. They made a pact to stay bachelors - in my opinion that seemed a bit unrealistic. This book tells the story of Parker, the nice guy, and Delaney, who needs a break from dating as her ex was an ass. But sometimes one founds The One even though they don't even search for it!

This is a great series and I can't wait to read the next part!

WHAT I LIKED:The small town of Cedar Falls is a nice background. I loved the guys and their friendship. The tension was good. I also liked how the main characters took important steps in their work life and started to go towards their dreams!

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE: Delaney kept mentioning her ex which was a bit annoying. And I think sometimes they could've communicated better.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Pov: dual, 1st person
Heat: open doors
Pacing: instalove / instalust
Communication: some miscommunication, but also healthy communication
Third act:
Ending:

Main characters:
* He's starting his own construction business, she's a pharmacist
* Cinnamon roll hero
* Friends to lovers

What?
* Dirty talk
* Forced proximity
* Found family
* One night stand turned more

Where?
* Cedar Falls
* Small town

Drama?
* Difficult past
* Family drama

I enjoyed Fallen Hearts, so I was delighted when I had the opportunity to read an ARC of Desired Hearts, the next in the series. I wanted to like this, but sadly, I was a bit disappointed with this one.

Parker (MMC) has always lived in the small town of Cedar Falls in upstate New York, & is another member of the Batchelor Pact, having sworn to remain single after his cheating father left his mother heartbroken. Delaney (FMC) has been left heartbroken after her ex broke up with her - twice. She came to live & work in Cedar Falls after accepting a job as the local pharmacist. She’s made some new friends & is enjoying her life there. Although they have some friends in common it’s a while before they actually meet. There is a spark between them when they meet, but they enjoy getting to know each as friends, initially their common experience of heartbreak holds each of them back. It’s only when their little group of friends go away for a weekend skiing together that they see the possibility of change in their relationship.

I liked Parker & Delaney, & I liked that they each had a dream of how their life could be, the jobs they would love to be doing. However, I didn’t find the main characters believable, the change of pace in their relationship was sudden & for some reason I wasn’t convinced. It’s a sweet, slightly steamy, small town romance. If that’s the sort of romance trope you enjoy then I can recommend Desired Hearts. Unfortunately it’s not for me.

My sincere thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read Desired Hearts by Cissy Mecca. I give my unbiased opinion of this book in the following review.

Parker doesn't trust love ever since his father cheated on his mother. Delaney is getting over a bad relationship with I guy who not only broke up with her once, but twice. Parker and his college friends made a pact never to get married and if they do, they have to put money in a pot which will go to the last man standing. Mason was the first to fall and he and his fiancé Pia thing Parker would hit it off with Pia's friend Delaney - of course no pressure. Well, they do hit it off and it doesn't take long for them to get physical when left alone at a mountain cabin. They both are firm about it not being a relationship as neither of the wants to get serious. We know where that's headed, right?

This was a cute, low stress contemporary romance. The relationship progressed a little fast for my taste, but they did talk and get to know each other. They shared their pasts, their future goals, and spent time with their good friends. As with the first book Fallen Hearts, I really loved the guy friend group. They drop everything to be there for one another. Many times in romance books, the female friend group is the focus. I like that this series is the opposite. I recommend this book if you want a straightforward fun romance without a lot of angst. I'm curious enough about the last two in the bachelor pact that I plan to pick up those when they come out.

Even though this was the second book in a series and I hadn't read the first one, it didn't stop me enjoying the book. I loved everything about this cute and easy to follow read. Desired Hearts was another great read from Cissy Mecca. I enjoyed Parker and Delaney’s story; it was very different from Pia and Mason’s. There wasn’t as much angst as in the previous book; this love story felt more straightforward than the last, with some added spice as well. Delaney and Parker have yet to encounter each other, despite knowing some of the same people; however, an awkward encounter occurs between the two at the pharmacy. Their introduction itself wasn’t awkward, but the reason he was there was. Set up on a “coffee date” by their friend in order to get to know each other ends up clearing the air, but they also come to enjoy each other’s company. They have a natural chemistry with each other, which makes it very easy for them to communicate. Delaney is coming off a bad breakup and doesn’t want to pursue anyone, and Parker respects her decision. It’s her decision whether she wants something to happen or not. I love how Parker is very respectful about the situation, but still makes it known that he enjoys her company very much. Commitment is a huge issue for both of them, but Parker and Delaney seem to have a very strong connection that is hard to ignore. They end up gravitating towards each other as if they had known each other forever. I enjoyed reading about Parker and Delaney’s love story!!! I loved how natural and easy it was between them. Can’t wait to see whose story is next — Beck or Cole?

Delaney juró no volver a enamorarse.

Desired Hearts tells the story of Delaney and Parker. Parker has made a pact with his friends that they will stay bachelors. After witnessing the pain of his parents disasterous marriage, he doesn't want to go down that route himself. Delaney has recently been hurt badly by her exboyfriend and the last thing she wants is another relationship. Once they meet, everything changes, when they can't seem to stay away from one another.
This is a fun, straightforward romance. There are no real bumps in the road that stop this couple from being together and it's not long before their romance is all systems go. I liked them as a couple, although they perhaps lacked a bit of depth compared to other romances I've read and enjoyed.
It did amuse me that both hero and heroine had surnames as their first names. I don't know if that was intentional or not.
This is the second book in this series. I don't think it maters that I hadn't read book one first as it works fine as a standalone.
I enjoyed this light romance and would read others in the series.

Thank you so much to Net Galley and Boldwood Books for the ARC! I received this copy in exchange for my honest review and as always I’m so appreciative of the opportunity.

The things that I really enjoyed about this small town romance was not to be cliche but the small town setting, the group of friends, and the kind MMC. The things that didn’t really work for me was the “insta love” aspect even though the I understand having to quickly build up due to the book length. I also totally get the having to give the backstory for the FMCs emotionally abusive/love bombing ex but I felt like it was overkill with the amount of times it was mentioned. Overall I just wanted more development between the characters. But it was very cute and I enjoyed the relatable characters with real lives.

This is book 2 in a series that I'm going to guess will contain 4 books in total. I hadn't read book one, but they appear to be a series of interconnected standalones, each focusing on a different person from a four way friendship group so you dont need to have read the first to know what's going on.
The tale flicks back and forth from Parker to Delaney's viewpoints in different chapters. I really like this format in a romance.
Speaking of romance, this has many, many spicy scenes and they are H.O.T! Parker has got a dirty mouth on his sweet face.
I really loved the friendships in the book, between the four boys, the girls, and the entire group. You can feel the love they have for each other oozing off the pages.
There's lots of humour and warmth, but there's also plenty of depth. The characters have all obviously had tough dealings with matters of the heart, personally and witnessed in families, and its important to see their journey through that.
This is a super quick read that fans of small town romances will love!

This book is an absolutely delightful read that hooked me from beginning to end. Desired Hearts by Cissy Mecca is the second installment in the Bachelor Pact Series, set in the charming fictional town of Cedar Falls.

The story follows Parker Scott, who has always lived by the rules of the Bachelor Pact—but fate has other plans when he crosses paths with Delaney. A snowbound weekend together changes everything, leaving them both questioning whether the pact that once kept Parker safe is worth more than the unexpected connection they’ve found.

The characters are beautifully developed, with their backgrounds and personal struggles woven seamlessly into the narrative, alongside the warmth and charm of small-town life. The swoony, slow-blooming romance between Parker and Delaney makes the story a joy to read, and what I loved most was how realistic and heartfelt it felt.

Highly recommended for fans of small-town romances, steamy chemistry, and heartfelt stories with community vibes.

During their college days 4 close friends decided to form a Bachelor Pact, all due to their experiences of their parents’ marriages. The final line of the pact – never say ‘I do’!

Mason was the first one to fail the pact (#1 Fallen Hearts, the story of Mason and Pia) and now it seems like another one is heading that way. Parker has just met a close friend of Pia, Delaney, and they’re both immediately attracted to each other. The problem? Parker is broken by his father’s many infidelities and its effect on his mother and he’s terrified he’ll be the same. Delaney has been dumped, again, by her long-term boyfriend and can’t get over him, despite knowing he was no good for her and worries that she won’t be able to trust a man again.

It's an easy read and the characters are engaging but I found it less enjoyable than the first book, which to me had a more interesting story line.

The Bachelor Pact is in full effect until...it isn't? Four college friends all have great reasons for putting the bachelor pact into effect, but they have already lost Mason to his soul mate. Parker, Beck and Cole won't fall like Mason did, will they?

Well, not all at once, anyway. Parker and Delaney are instantly attracted to each other, but neither want a relationship. Delaney has just come out of the worst relationship ever and Parker did agree to the Pact with his buddies. But, what is the harm in having some fun, right?

As they talk and spend more time together, both realize that it's just easy and they want to be around each other all the time. But what about Delaney's pesky ex? And can Parker get over the fact that he could end up just like his dad and hurt anyone he gets into a relationship with?

Cissy Mecca brings us another steamy, feel good love story in Desired Hearts. I loved this one, and can't wait to see how hard and fast both Beck and Cole fall!!

Entertaining Bachelor Pact Romance #2!!

There are rules: Never stay the night. Never date the neighbor. Never fall in love. Never say “I Do”. Four best of friends who either witnessed caustic marriages, or a man who lost his one love and never recovered. Best not to marry at all.

In book #1 Mason & Pia break all the rules. Now pharmacist Delaney is reconsidering her life's choices after a bad breakup and not enjoying her job. She is also an artist, in painting, jewelry-making and pottery. A cute meet with Parker Scott turns into time in a hot tub at a ski cabin.

Love the town, the found families, the relationships, the non-romance / romance, relatable characters, and how we are all the result of our past experiences. Family, friends, careers and so much more. Pure entertainment which I thoroughly enjoyed.

This is a heart-melting, snow-dusted romance that’s equal parts heat and heart. A small-town, slow-burn delight!

Parker, the charmingly reluctant bachelor with a heart of gold, never planned on breaking The Bachelor Pact—especially not for anyone like Delaney, a tough-but-vulnerable heroine who’s sworn off love for good. But fate (and one very cozy snowstorm) has other ideas. Their chemistry is off the charts, the banter is flirty and fun, and the emotional pull is undeniable.

Set against the charming backdrop of Cedar Falls and the quirky Heritage Hill Inn, this book is more than just a steamy escape—it’s a story about breaking down walls, found family, and trusting love again.

If you like, fierce heroines, and the cozy chaos of a close-knit town, you're sure to enjoy this one. A perfect winter weekend binge.

Desired Hearts by Cissy Mecca is a compelling and emotionally rich romance that kept me engaged from start to finish. Mecca’s writing is heartfelt and evocative, bringing to life complex characters who are both flawed and relatable. The chemistry between the leads is intense and believable, with a nice balance of passion, vulnerability, and emotional growth.

I appreciated how the story delves into themes of trust, healing, and second chances, adding depth beyond the romance. The pacing was steady, allowing the relationship to develop naturally while maintaining tension and intrigue. While some plot elements felt familiar, Mecca’s strong character development and emotional honesty made the story stand out.

Overall, I’m giving Desired Hearts four stars. It’s a touching and well-written romance that I’d recommend to fans of emotionally driven, character-focused love stories.

Desired Hearts is Parker and Delaney’s friends to lovers, small town romance set in Cedar Falls. It’s book two in The Bachelor Pact and it’s a well written, entertaining and engaging read.
Parker has lived in Cedar Falls all his life and he swore he would never get married after his father cheated and left his mother. Being part of the bachelor pact was aways the plan until a new woman arrives in town.
Delaney needs a fresh start so she takes a job as the local pharmacist in Cedar Falls. She has made friends and it looks like her life is turning around. From the moment she meets Parker a connection is formed but will either of them take a chance and risk their hearts.
I was captivated from the first chapter to the last line, I loved the characters and the camaraderie the residents of this small town share.
An enjoyable and entertaining read that touched my heart.

A sweet, entertaining, and enjoyable read about two people who, for one reason or another, do not typically engage in relationships but have an attraction they cannot ignore. Ms. Mecca has given us a storyline that is easy to read, well-written, and characters who grow personally at the turn of every page.
Delaney feels that relationships are not in her future because of her ex and their past. Parker never wants to be in a relationship because of his father and his cheating past. They have a cute meet but it is awkward. Enjoying one another's company, they decide to be friends; however, we all know how that goes; friends to lovers is a great trope. Add in that Parker has a dirty mouth that melts the panties off Delaney.
Desired Hearts is book two of The Bachelor Pact and is a wonderful addition. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

3.5⭐️ 2🌶️ This is book 2 in The Bachelor Pact series and I enjoyed this well paced story. I felt it had the right combination of humor and emotions to keep the story cozy and sweet. Though I do feel the 3rd act was anticlimactic.

Delaney is still suffering from the aftermath of her break up and it really has an impact on her relationship with men and trusting herself to make sound decisions. Parker made a Bachelor Pact with his buddies, but isn’t necessarily married to the idea and is willing to give it up for the right girl.

The Cedar Falls universe knew what it was doing when they snowed these two in for a delicious weekend of breaking down walls, building trust, and coming together In every sense of the word.

Thank you to boldwood books and NetGalley for this arc!

Parker is a bachelor determined to stay single. When he meets the small town pharmacist Delaney, he’s smitten. Delaney wants to work on her art, but she feels pressured to use her pharmacy degree. She just got dumped (again) by her ex and she’s not ready to date.

The two have attraction and on a ski slope vacation, they begin hooking up. When they go back home, they have to decide if this is a fling or more. Parker was definitely the first to fall and wanted to be better than his father. Delaney’s terrible ex tries to run back, but she’s not interested.

There is a sort of 3rd act break up that I found unnecessary, but overall a good addition to the series🫶🏻
