Jingle all the way to Silver Bells, Wyoming, where love is a treat!

Clumsy, earnest baker Sylvie West has worked at the Christmas Café in Silver Bells, Wyoming, ever since her boozy eggnog fruitcake won the town’s annual holiday bake-off. Her forever happy place, the café complements her sweet, well-ordered life with her recently widowed Gramps and her yappy chihuahua-pug, Crumpet.

So, when Sylvie learns the café might be sold, she’s determined to save it the only way she by getting the Holiday Channel crew to set a scene at the café. She’s even met the film’s charming lead actor, Royce, thanks to Crumpet’s meddling. Between an unexpected acting gig, a booth at the Christmas festival, an appearance at the Christmas parade, and a budding romance with Royce, Sylvie has a lot on her plate. Good thing her old friend, gruff yet reliable Abe, has just come home to manage his parents’ goat farm—until she catches herself feeling a little too merry and bright in his presence. With some help from family, friends, Crumpet, and the goat farmer down the way, Sylvie’s plate might just be full of the sweetest treats she’s ever had . . .

Christmas in July 🌲

Sylvie from Silver Bells (I can't make this shit up) is the clumsiest, most awkward baker in the world. She has a very badly trained dog named Crumpet that eats things that dogs shouldn't. This plays out like all of the cheesy scenes in a Hallmark movie, because, lo and behold, they are filming a Christmas movie in the area. And the star of the movie is seemingly into Sylvie. But so is her childhood friend. I wonder which one she will choose.

Loved the Christmas 🎄 feels of this one this Christmas story warms the cockles of your heart it was entertaining made me want all the delicious food mentioned in this book.
The Christmas 🎅 Cafe written by Eliza Evan’s narrated by Eileen Steven’s.

Silvia runs the local Cafe ☕️ in the small town of Silver Bells it’s her happy place where she can bake to her heart is content, her dog 🐶 a pug ❌ chihuahua who eats everything in site was so cute, but when she hears her beloved cafe is going to close she is devastated to say the least.

Her gramps who I loved helps her keep the cafe open her best friend Abe comes to her rescue he helps get the cafe ready for Christmas.

I am not going any further let’s just say a romance between two characters blossom 🌸.

I just loved every minute of this one it kept me engaged from beginning to end highly recommended this is my first book by Ms Evan’s but won’t be my last.

4 solid stars for this rather syrupy-sweet & very Hallmark-esque and clean holiday rom-com set in the fictional little town of Silver Bells. I liked the love triangle, but one of them was a 🍆. Also liked the failing title cafe, but the very best parts were the 🐶, 🐐 and FMC's quirky family. Great holiday feels! 🎄🎅🏼🎄🤶🏼

I didn’t expect much from this holiday book, set in Silver Bells, Wyoming…just something to listen to while working through some things. But I found myself pleasantly surprised by this sweet town and characters.

Sylvia is the baker at the Christmas Cafe, a place with years of memories with her Gram working there. Gram died a couple years ago, and they all miss her; especially Gramps. Gramps now lives in Sylvia’s cozy home, along with her rambunctious dog Crumpet. She is devastated when she discovers the owner of the cafe is considering selling.

But the Holiday Channel is in town filming a movie, and Sylvia wonders if she can capitalize on it and draw more crowds to the cafe. She has a meet-cute with the handsome lead actor Royce, and he starts spending time with her. But things aren’t quite what they seem with him… and she starts wondering about another man that she’s been friends with for years.

Is it predictable? Yes. But it’s just a feel-good story with Christmas, family, yummy desserts, a misbehaved dog, and a baby goat. What’s not to like?

This was cute. Better than I thought it was going to be. G rated romance. A bit of a love triangle. There was never any hope for our movie star love interest, but he sure was getting in the way of the loveable goat farmer.
Just when it seemed like Miss Christmas (Sylvie) was going to save the Cafe with the help of the movie star she was dating, Royce the story takes an unexpected turn.

WOW. If you are looking for a Hallmark Christmas movie in a book - here it is. This was adorable. Set in a small town in Wyoming, all about one woman's quest to save the cafe that means so much to her. Family, friends, cute animals, romance, Christmas cheer, and cute recipes, make for a perfect Christmas book. I just loved how easy this was to read, and just how much of an escape this was. Highly recommend you check this one out once it releases.
Thank you to the publisher for the ARC of this book!

The Christmas Café
By Eliza Evans

Jingle all the way to Silver Bells, Wyoming, where love is a treat!

✨ My thoughts;
This is the only book I read for Christmas in July this year and it was super cute! Thank you so much to my friend Mary for gifting this to me as a birthday gift 🎁. The Christmas Café is a literal Hallmark movie that should only be read with hot cocoa in hand! From the town name, to the romance, you get all the warm and cozy feelings you want from a holiday read. This book is full of lovable characters and you’re sure to binge this one without even realizing it. You won’t get unexpected twists but it’s happy, sweet, and comfy… and that’s exactly how I like my holiday books!

Happy reading 📖 🎁🎄

First off, I want to thank my bestie Cara for buddy reading this book with me!! I loved our discussion of this book, I especially enjoyed our talks about Abe. We need our own Abes. 😉💕

One of my favorite parts of this book was the relationship between Abe and Sylvia.🥹 They were such a lovable and relatable couple, and I found myself rooting for them from the very beginning. Abe was the perfect gentleman and reminded me of Luke Danes from Gilmore Girls. He was always there to support and help Sylvia, just like Luke was always there for Lorelai.

The author did a fantastic job of describing the food in the book. Every time Sylvie mentioned a dish that she made, I wanted to try it myself! It definitely made me feel hungry.

One of the most heartwarming characters in the book was Sylvia's grandpa. He was so sweet and caring. I loved that he was always encouraging Sylvia.

I found myself laughing at the humorous moments and crying during the more emotional scenes. It truly captures the essence of the holiday season. I highly recommend this book. This is probably my new favorite Christmas book. 🎄💕

The Christmas Cafe is a perfect holiday read. Is cozy romance a thing? Hallmark holiday romance in a book? YES PLEASE! I can visualize this being a hallmark movie and everyone that knows me knows how much I love Christmas and Hallmark holiday movies.
It has it all- Small town romance, childhood brooding friend, potential celebrity love interest, dogs, goats, baked goods, klutzy main character - all wrapped up with holiday cheer. Thank you to Eliza Evans, Penguin Group Putnam, and NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I had no idea that The Christmas Café was Eliza Evans debut novel, and now that I'm done, I have to hand it to her for writing a super cute and lighthearted holiday read. It did give me debut vibes at times, but this was a solid 4 ⭐ read for me, and if you like romcoms and Hallmark Christmas movies, you should definitely read it. I loved Sylvie's dog Crumpet and wanted him for myself, and her Gramps just made me feel 🥺 all the time. There was a little bit of a love triangle for half a second, but I was always rooting for Abe, and I really wish we could have gotten more development of their relationship than just the very end. This is very typical for a Hallmark movie as well though, which is why I think people who love them (like me), will also love this story.

And speaking of adorable, the audiobook narrator Eileen Stevens really made this book for me, and every single time she narrated one of Crumpet's yips it made me giggle. She was perfect as Sylvie and since the entire book is narrated from her viewpoint, it totally worked having only one narrator for the audio. Especially someone as good as Stevens was for her... role? Whatever you want to call it she was perfect. 🤣 The overall feel of The Christmas Café is pretty light although there are still plenty of parts, mostly with Gramps, which provide heartfelt moments and depth. There is absolutely zero steam in the book, but there are plenty of LOL moments, so for me, it evened itself out. 🤪 I would 100% take a sequel of this book if that matters, but I think Evans is an author to watch, and I can't wait to read whatever she writes next!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I have no regrets reading this one. It was a cute, lighthearted story with a focus on staying true to yourself. But it definitely follows a typical Hallmark-esque storyline and conflict. If you’re looking for that, great!

A movie is set to film in the charming town of Silver Bells, Wyoming, giving baker extraordinaire Sylvie West the idea to save her beloved café with the influx of publicity.

I will say, I’ve read a handful of Christmas romances already this year, and this has been by far the most festive! And the food—oh my gosh! This book will have you craving scones.

There is a bit of a love triangle (the charismatic actor vs the gruff goat farmer), but even the synopsis doesn’t hide who Sylvie will end up with. A lot of time was spent with the wrong man, though, leaving very little left to build the connection I wanted with the true love interest.

Best Christmas book I've read this year 🤍🤍🤍

Thank you G.P. Putnam's Sons & Penguin Random House for this complimentary copy of "The Christmas Café." It's out now! Hop on your reindeer + grab your copy today!

Team Abe > Team Royce (*insert raspberry noise here*) Am I right!?!

Now that that's settled...this holiday story is more than a romance & it's the reason why this is my favorite holiday read.

I loved that we got to explore Sylvia's grandmothers legacy + story through her. Grandma & grandpa were the best part of this story. They were side characters & they were what made the whole thing so shiny & special. The way that Sylvia worked so hard to continue to bake & follow her gran's path just melted my heart. I loved that she wore her grandmother's dress to the Christmas ball. Stories about families go so hard & this one is just pure bliss.

Now don't get it twisted the romance was *chefs kiss* We get whimsical holiday dates like sleigh rides & classic Christmas movies. We get two HAWT & SWOON-WORTHY men. Everyone seems to find love & happiness by the end aka THE MOST HAPPIEST ENDINGS FOR ALL... AND Dani gets to enjoy the bell peppered spice closed door charm.

Are we surprised that I adored a book with a baby goat and dog? Nope... B U T hear me when I say this story is WORTH IT.

It's got all the tidings of the most fantastic & cozy holiday read.

Ya'll know...I always have something to say about the audiobook but I was very pleased with Eileen Stevens performance. I found that her pacing was a bit slow for me at 1.25 speed but don't let that stop you because her voice is GREAT! I thought she sounded different from all the other romance narrators & I mean that in the most positive way because I couldn't stop listening!

A Hallmark movie in book form! And I mean that in the best way possible. I don’t usually read Christmas books early, but since I had the ARC I decided to make an exception. I LOVED all the Christmas feels of this book, from sleigh rides to twinkling lights and decorations. I also really loved all the Christmassy confections that Sylvie came up with. (I was so glad the book included some recipes in the back!) Everything she made sounded yummy and I would love to eat at the Christmas Cafe! I also really enjoyed the characters, especially Gramps, who is mourning the death of his wife (Sylvie’s grandmother) and the dog Crumpet (such a cute name!). Oh my gosh, and the goats!!! They were so cute!

The romance was a bit lackluster, but it was still cute and gave me major Hallmark vibes. (I totally pictured Abe to look like Tyler Hynes!)

Overall this was an excellent debut, filled with Christmas magic, and guaranteed to make you hungry for an eggnog scone!

My final Christmas read of the season is also the cheesiest and most sentimental. It is literally a Hallmark Christmas movie in book form, because it is literally about a Christmas movie being filmed in a small town.

Welcome to Silver Bells, Wyoming, home of the Christmas Café. Our heroine, the klutzy Sylvie West, has worked at the café for years as its head baker, crafting scrumptious desserts using butter from her childhood friend Abe's goat farm. But now, the café is in danger of being sold to a chain restaurant franchise. Sylvie desperately hopes she can leverage the Holiday Channel movie that's filming in Silver Bells to get the Christmas Café some much-needed publicity. With the help of the film's handsome star, Royce, her chihuahua-pug mix Crumpet, her recently-widowed Gramps, and Abe the lovable goat farmer, Sylvie sets out to save the café -- a journey that takes her way out of her comfort zone and just may put her directly on a path to finding love.

The Christmas Café is beyond cliché, but it's charming and filled with delicious dessert descriptions and lots of lighthearted, feel-good holiday moments. There's very little tension and no real conflict, because there's never any doubt who Sylvie is going to choose. It's the book equivalent of one of Sylvie's gingerbread scones: classic, simple, and warm all the way down. Thank you to G.P. Putnam's Sons and NetGalley for the complimentary reading opportunity.

Thank you NetGalley for letting me read this arc. This is the perfect Hallmark Christmas story wrapped into a book. You have Silverbells a cute Christmas town. Slyvie is trying to find a solution to keep their Christmas cafe open and takes a chance using a movie star who's filming in the area to help. There's also a rugged goat farmer! Would recommend.

A heartwarming small town story. Sylvia needs solutions fast! I loved her grandfather and Abe the best.
Royce was a user but finally acts, right when Sylvia calls him out.
I love that Abe has harbored feelings for Sylvia for so long and was willing to wait since she is really slow on the uptake.
With a mischievous dog and bouncing goats, this story hops right along with the holiday spirit.

This was probably the Christmas book I was most excited to read this year.

And boy did it flop for me.

I am a huge fan of hallmark Christmas movies, so I am the first to jump into a book described as such.

There were a bunch of little things that rubbed me the wrong way and were constantly pulling me out of the story right at the beginning and I don’t think it ever recovered for me.

This book was 80% dialogue and 20% an annoying dog and 0% setting or descriptions of any kind.

I’m bummed.

Sylvie West, works at the Christmas Café in Silver Bells, Wyoming, a place that holds special memories for her. When she discovers that the café might be sold, Sylvie is determined to save it by taking advantage of a movie that that is being filmed in the town for the holiday channel. A chance encounter with the charming lead actor, Royce, sets off a series of events that include Sylvie landing an acting gig, participating in the Christmas Festival and Parade, and navigating a budding romance. With the support of her, Gramps and her spirited dog Crumpet, as well as the unexpected return of her friend Abe, Sylvie embarks on a heartwarming journey to make this Christmas the most special one yet.

If you like the Hallmark holiday movies this is for you. It literally is about a holiday movie and a small town girl getting swept off her feet. I loved that Sylvie was unapologetically herself and didn't care what other people thought of her. I do wish we would have gotten more development between Sylvie and Abe. We need a sequel! Is it a cliche book? Absolutely! Did I pretty much know exactly what was going to happen? Yes! But I still enjoyed every second reading it and all the holiday feel good cheer it gave me.

I love a good holiday/Christmas novel with the usual holiday tropes and predictability, but this one was annoying, like a meh hallmark movie. More young adult than an adult fiction. There were so many cliches I was getting more annoyed with Sylvie, the main character, with all her encounters.

Sylvie is immature. Immature in love and life. She wants to save the cafe but has no clue, and that ‘safe the cafe’ is not really formulated well. Royce, the bad guy, and actor, helps her but her immaturity and inability to communicate prevent her from any actual action. Giving the dress back to Royce was totally okay, but keeping the shoes made Sylvie look immature again. How she stormed out of the Christmas Ball was another immature move.

Her self-doubt about being adopted became annoying instead of endearing.

And the author's words when referencing the parents made me believe there was not a great relationship. Really, what was the point of the parents, they could have died and the grandparents raised them—more believable plot.

And her little dog Crumpet, another cliche, a not trained yappy little dog, that Sylvie brings to a commercial kitchen. WTF! She also feeds it eggs with salt and pepper, which is horrible for dogs. Something easy for the author to Google, take out the salt/pepper and feed it eggs. Also, the meet/cute at the beginning with the Crumpet, the dog, was hard to want to keep reading for me.

Another cliche is the overbearing older sister and an unsettled, immature younger brother, who, by the end, grow to be friendly people because of Sylvie, just too much.

I felt like the author was trying to do too much about adoption, cancer, parents in Florida, self-doubt, your perfect being you. But she slams women for taking care of themselves. When she wrote, “She spent all of two minutes looking in the mirror each day. She had more important things to do with her time.” what an infuriating line and exasperating character Sylvia was.

Thank @NetGalley and @putnam for my eARC.

I am an ENORMOUS fan of Hallmark movies, especially the Christmas movies. They are formulaic but always satisfying and entertaining. When I read the description of this book, I jumped at the chance to read and review it. I was only a few paragraphs in when I knew that I would not be getting the same happy and feel good feelings from this book.

I just did not enjoy the characters, the plot, the name of the town and the dog. It all irritated me. The main character, Slyvie, was just so immature and annoying. Her dog, Crumpet (seriously silly name that I got seriously sick of reading), was the typical out of control tiny dog that is supposed to supply an adorable comic relief but instead just grated on my nerves.

I cannot tell if the author is British and trying to write for an American audience, but no American refers to a mother as “mummy” or even knows what a crumpet is. With all the plot holes, poor plot pacing, odd vernacular, and just an incredibly boring plot, I feel like this book really needs heavy editing before being published. The cover is ADORABLE. The rest of the book is cringey.

Thanks NetGalley and Penguin Group publishing for this advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

The Christmas Cafe is about as saccharine as it gets -- in a good way, if that's what you like. This isn't literary fiction, it's a short, cute, and sweet holiday romance novel.

In the small town of Silver Bells, Wyoming, baker Sylvie works at the Christmas Cafe, where it's festive all year long.

When she learns the Cafe that's meant so much to her throughout her life may be sold, she gets the Holiday Channel to film a scene there. The lead actor, Royce, takes an interest in her, which makes her practically melt, yet she also finds herself interested in the wellbeing of her old local friend, Abe, who's back in town to manage his parents' goat farm.

Mixed into this light love triangle with a celebrity romance trope are a mischievous dog named Crumpet, a sweet family with loving memories, and even a Christmas festival and parade.

It's a guilty pleasure as sweet as Sylvie's treats for those looking for a really quick and light small-town escape or a closed-door romance. Think: Gilmore Girls meets Wyoming.

This wants to be a Hallmark Christmas story, including filming a holiday movie during the book. Sylvie West works as a baker at the Christmas Cafe in Silver Bells, WY. She has a meet cute with hot actor Royce who is in town to make a movie for the Holiday Channel. When Sylvie learns that the owner plans to sell the Cafe she hopes to get diner in the film in hopes of saving it. Her old friend Abe has returned home to manage the family goat farm and she ends up spending time with him too.

Love triangles are tricky to write because inevitably you’re spending time on a person who isn’t going to get the girl. This book is sweet but maybe trying to be a little too cutesy. But if you want to suspend practicalities, this is a sweet, kissing only, low angst holiday romance. And Gramps and her siblings add to the story.

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Group Putnum for the ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.

This book gave me Hallmark movie Christmas vibes right from the beginning! The story is based in a small town in Wyoming called Silver Bells. It follows the town's baker Sylvie who works at the town’s cafe which is called none other than The Christmas Cafe. This book makes you want to visit this cozy town during the holiday season.

Sylvie gets word that The Christmas Cafe may be getting sold. She goes into planning mode trying to figure out what she could do to save it. That's when she realizes The Holiday channel is in town filming the latest Christmas movie. She does everything she can to get the movie to film at the cafe.

Abe is the local goat farmer who will do anything for Sylvie. He doesn’t say much but you learn he has always had feelings for Sylvie.

I loved the journey of Sylvie breaking out of her shell and doing everything she can to save the cafe along with some romance along the way.

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Group Putnam Books for an eARC in exchange for my honest review.
