Please note that this book is not standalone, and Book 1 must be listened to first.
My thoughts: Welcome to my Dark Mafia Era; the tension, drama and thrill were palpitating. Each book was filled with a dark story line, sexual content and violence.
Each book is a short novella that ends in a cliffhanger - save book three for its tantalising ending.
The stories follow the FMC Amber who is currently the girlfriend of Argon, a disgusting misogynist who uses Amber as his mere possession and trophy prize. When Amber finds herself in the arms of Lorenzo, there is an intense and deep connection between the pair; both sexual and emotional.
Amber wishes to flee from Argon and start a new life free of the depravity that she currently finds herself chained to - but Argon is not the type of man who will just let her go easily - and as we begin to discover more about Argon and Lorenzo’s characters; not only does this become a fight for the girl but a deep-rooted war between dark and dangerous men.
I read this whole series in the space of a night; encapsulated by the dark and steamy romance as well as the brutal violence that ensued.
I highly recommend this series and I will be sure to read more of A Hayats work
