I enjoyed but didn't love books #1 and #2, however having read and thoroughly enjoyed this one. So much so that I'm sure if I read the first two again my ratings for those would now change!

It was quite a long time ago that I read the first book, and whilst there is nothing wrong with either the storyline or the writing, I just struggled with it. That was definitely a personal thing, a frustration with what I "needed" to happen in the book not tying in with what did occur. I can't blame the author for that one, lol.

I used the KU programme to read book #2, well skim read it as there was just a bit too much rinse and repeat of the being forced to be a little girl and sent crazy by orgasms theme for me. I loved the ending but was very worried about this just being a further cycle of book #1 and #2, which to my mind could have been condensed into 1 book.

Wanting to be able to read the follow up short story in the latest Dirty Daddies anthology I decided I needed to complete the series. Fully expecting to end up skim reading it, in a similar manner to book 2, I was very pleasantly surprised to find myself quickly caught up in the story and loving every second of it. Knowing what I do now, I think my frustrations at the first two books would be greatly reduced. I finally got that inner strength from Sophie, that determination to do anything it took to get back to her children.

The ending was 5 stars all the way. The restaurant scene was perfect, Absolutely everything I wanted and perfect for where Sophie was in her life at that moment. It was so good that I will now re-read the entire series.

And the swirling mind-blowing erotic madness that is Jared & Sophie's story continues in this 3rd book of Ms. Brandon's 'Dark Daddy Romance' series.
And madness it is indeed.
But whose?
Jared with his completely obsessive need to 'keep & own' Sophie?
Or Sophie with her constant battle between responsibility, duty & the rampant lust Jared drags & forces from her body; lust that her mind cannot decide whether it is desired or not.
And that is what this book is: a beautifully done balancing act of physical hedonism vs the self-restraint & control needed in order to accept & handle the responsibilities, duties & realities of life.
And Jared keeps Sophie on a razor blade edge of lust, madness & confusion, deliberately preventing her from thinking rationally. Always nudging, pushing, shoving her mind off balance. Always right THERE, surrounding her mind & body with HIM, so that HE is the only thing in her mind.
Or, is he?
In my opinion, Ms Brandon has written a wonderful story that makes the reader agitated for, worried for, despairing for, the heroine. She's physically so much smaller & weaker than her captor. He keeps her physically controlled, bound & restrained; he is intelligent, resourceful, experienced, relentless & RUTHLESS.
And poor captive tormented tortured beleaguered Sophie. What strength does she have? What weapon(s) does she have in order to even attempt to fight back?
And that, is the overall premise of this book.
Once again Ms Brandon is able to smoothly pull me into a reality of her making, of hating an anti-H but making him fascinating to read about. HOPING that somewhere, somehow there will be a gleam of humanity in him.
Of rooting for a captured but brave & DETERMINED heroine who wavers but never folds, of wanting her to be happy, to be strong & resourceful any way she is able to be.
I found the writing to be superbly smooth although the story itself is shocking & darkly intense, compelling me to continue turning to the next page, & the next & the next until I reached 'The End'. And I found myself releasing the breath I'd been unconsciously holding until I did.
Truly Ms. Brandon knows how to wield words like a weapon, skewering her helplessly enthralled readers without remorse, using wicked imagery & delicious depravity as well as stellar characterizations to subtly encompass those readers & not release them until the final word.
And sometimes not even then.
For her words, images & characters have a disconcerting yet wonderful way of sticking with your mind, long after the story is ended.
Ah, Ms. Brandon, what a wonderfully wicked web you weave.

This entire Daddy series by Felicity Brandon has been one wild ride. I loved every page, and this third installment is equally as good as the other two. This could be seen as the trilogy’s conclusion but I’m hoping for more.

Sophie and Jared, two star-crossed lovers honestly meant to be together but not according to the status quo of their established relationship. And that’s the conundrum. Jared is unrelenting in his control and Sophie needs choice. The battle becomes ongoing, despite their attraction to each other.

This is dark romance at its finest. I personally would not want a Jared in my life but Felicity somehow makes him attractive and maybe even forgivable with time. This is what this author is so good at. Pulling my emotions to the surface, making me vacillate between an extreme of angst to a feeling of sympathy. I really wanted to hate Jared but couldn’t when all was said and done. That’s why I hope that eventually this story continues. I think there’s more to tell.

As usual Ms. Brandon delivers an engaging, suspenseful and well-written story. The plot is tight and flows well from beginning to end. The world building is distinct and alluring. When reading, I’m in the midst of it. Her characters are so real; I believe they can exist and respond and react in the way that they do. This is just plain good story telling. If you like dark romance, then this author should be a staple in your library. Highly recommended.

This is the last of Sophie and Jared's book. I love the way that Felicity Brandon ended the series, because I think that it was totally perfect.

I really like Sophie. I had some issues with her in the first book, but as she's gone through her journey, I really like how she's grown. And here's the thing, the books basically span over 3 or so days, so there's a lot of growth in there. I think that the strength, courage, and stubbornness that she shows really does her well here. I think that even the little bit of time that she spent with Jared really honed her and a part of her personality in a way that wouldn't've happened otherwise.

Jared is, quite simply, delusional. I mean he says he's doing all this for Sophie and he loves her. He doesn't even understand love. And I'm pretty sure what he feels is obsession, which any good Lifetime movie will teach you isn't love.

First, let me advise potential readers that this is the third in a series; it is impossible to enjoy it fully without reading Daddy's Little Captive (A Dark Daddy Romance) Book One and Mastered By Daddy: A Dark Daddy Romance.

Even though I'm not a fan of the impossibly vague, incredibly euphemistic, way to trendy "dark," I sort of liked the first volume's underlying theme -- which is pretty much that our lives of quiet desperation are alleviated only by our fantasies. In addition, it was more consensual than many of this author's books. I hated the second, however, since there was nothing redeeming about Jared; Sophie had little backbone; and I found it cruel rather than erotic. Both entries also end in cliffhangers, which bothers some readers. But, I was invested enough -- not in the characters, but in the plot -- to see how Ms. Brandon would work out a seemingly impossible impasse: how could Sophie be with her children and Jared? How would that even work?

Warning: It's difficult to talk about this book without spoilers; though I've tried my best, if you're sensitive to that, you may not want to read further.

This story, however, I liked, though mainly because of the plot trajectory and ending. Now, the ending will not please most some readers since I gather that most . Since I do not and given my feminist sensibilities, I was quite happy with it. (I know, I know, "feminist" is such a dirty word: I mean we wouldn't have the vote or equal pay for equal work without them, but what do those pesky little things matter?) The only aspect I didn't get was why she felt so ?

I will say that I, personally, don't understand the appeal of Jared. He doesn't come across as an alpha or a dominant or even "hot," rather, I find him childish, whiny, and pathetic. While I know that this appeals to some women, for me, he's the "darker," more malignant version of this, https://www.huffpost.com/entry/the-pe.... (Note that men who have "Peter Pan Syndrome" often have female followings.) To the author's credit, she does want to depict Sophie's growth and Jared's lack of, but, still, he left me cold.

So, YMMV. The bottom line is that Ms. Brandon has written an ending that will not appeal to many; however, she also limited her options when she gave Sophie .

3 stars. It's difficult for me to recommend this entire trilogy since it did nothing for me erotically or emotionally (I read it more for the plot machinations) and it was very repetitious (really, it didn't need three volumes). If you think this might appeal to you, I suggest you read the synopses and other reviews.

OMG!!!! Could this story be any more raw, dark and chilling?? You will be on edge emotionally as you witness the aftermath of Sophie's capture. The rules, punishments and power play between Jared and Sophie is intense, suspenseful and at times you will find yourself yelling at the book and wanting to be able to slap the s**t out of Jared. Will Sophie be able to fool Jared to let his guard down in order for her to be free to insure her safety? The scenario that takes place in this story will blow you away leading up to an abrupt ending. Will Sophie give everything up again to be with Jared and how will he handle Sophie knowing that she has found the strength to resist him even if she is torn by what Jared has brought out in her? Sophie knows that without consent she will never succumb to his rules. Can she be in an age play relationship? And what about the life she has built for herself along with her children? It seems we will have to wait for the next book to see what is going to happen next. Felicity Brandon has once again given her readers another dark, chilling romance story. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Sophie ran! My heart is beating! Will she be able to escape?

What will happen if Jared captures her? Will he understand her need to return to her children? Will he punish her? If so, how badly will he make her suffer? And, in what way will his devious mind find to make her remember to never run again? OH, MY GOSH, you will need to read for yourself to adequately comprehend his frame of mind!!! How will Sophie respond? How long can Sophie submit to Jared’s insidious games? Is there anything she can do to help him decrease his stern control?

Sophie is a woman with sexual needs and desires. She is also an intelligent, strong, and caring woman. What Jared does to Sophie is exciting, frightening and totally consuming. There is a part of her that would like to give in and let him rule her life. But there is another part of her that resents the total power he exerts over her every move. Felicity Brandon is such an excellent writer: she has become an obsession for me. Read her books and see for yourself.

First, no one has pulled me into the dark romance books like Felicity Brandon. She has this ability to make me cringe while reading but it's something I can't put down because I NEED to know what happens. In this 3rd book, Jared is still controlling Sophie. I honestly have mixed feelings about both characters. One minute I can't stand either on them but then I find myself loving them. I do have to say that I like Sophie a lot more than I do Jared. Sophie has a heart, compassion, and love but Jared just seems selfish the majority of the time. He wants what he wants and nothing is going to stop him from getting it. Does Sophie have the guts to walk away? And will Jared let her walk away? Oh the strength this woman has!!! Even though Jared didn't do it for me, the writing for this story was awesome!!!! Couldn't put it down and if I'm honest, while the ending was just what it needed to be for both characters, it has left me wondering if more of Jared and Sophie are coming later on. Read it and see what you think!!

This is the conclusion of the Daddy Series and it is fantastic! Sophie has failed in her escape and Jared is brutal in his punishment. He thinks he may have broken his little girl’s spirit but has he? I found myself cringing and cheering and cheering some more while reading it. You’re definitely going to want to read this one.

Hmm ok I'm not so sure about that ending. Is it really over? is the games of Daddy Jared come to an end? or is there more to come? I hope there is because that ending it didn't work for me. But I can assure you that I have a rollercoaster ride with Jared and Sophie. It was intense, dark read but I'm really hoping that there is still more to come.

I so wasn't expecting that!! There were parts in the story that made me go OMG! I love it. The unexpected, the suspense, the utter awe of the twists and turns in this book. Sophie's fear for her kids, the desire to get back to real life were so deep that I felt myself urging her to take chances and felt her fear for her. I hope there is more to this story because it can't end now. Please.....

Finally she took hold of her own life. She tried and almost succeeded, but then it worked a second time.
It was as Dark as earlier, but had a bit more ’human’ approach from Jared, this time.

Oh My! How to describe this twisted tale. It starts out like the modern day version of the Victorian age play. Jared is one strict and devious Daddy. And Sophie hates it and loves it and is determined to get away. This book twisted up my insides. Ms. Brandon has this way of taking these books that appear to be fantasy, and then BAM, she pulls us out of fantasy with talk of thing like children and responsibility. It’s almost like her books’ message is- be careful what you wish for! It was really uncomfortable to read almost. I actually really liked Jared and wanted to forget Sophie’s kids -lol. Im not so sure how I feel about the ending.... But I’m not telling you what happened. However, I definitely recommend this well written book- discomfort or not 😊!

When Daddy caught Sophie she knew she would pay for her misdeeds and she would have to earn Daddy's trust back. This was going to be the only way she could truly get back to her children.Jared is going to make his little girl pay for her escape and he is going to enjoy it immensely.
Sophie was becoming more compliant and Jared wasn't sure if she truly meant it or if she was trying to lull him into a sense of security, one where she was giving into his wicked ways.
Watching the dynamic between the two keeps you turning the pages, leaving you to wonder if Sophie will give up and stay for ever or if Jared misjudged a mothers love.

OMG! This has been a wild ride. It's been crazy intense, unbelievably emotional, I finally feel like I can take a deep breath. I hate spoilers but I have to say that this ending was brilliant. Pure genius! I can't imagine it ending any other way. It makes me love Sophie all the more. This one had all the heat and darkness of the other books, and I was totally captivated from beginning to end. This is my favorite book of the series, which is saying something because the whole series is fabulous, and my connection to Sophie was deeper in this one. I love that the characters stayed true to who they were. I love that I got to finish the series disliking Jared as much as I did from the very beginning. I like that I have a sense of peace after all the trauma. I like the smile and warmth in my heart from that ending. The fact that the ending wasn't the typical romantic ending and I still found it fabulous is a true testament to Ms. Brandon's skills as an author. She makes me love the characters that I hate. That sounds strange for me to say, but I think it's the deep hate that I feel for them that makes me love them. They are true evil in a very psycho way that makes it hard to not be captivated by them. This is something very few authors are able to capture and one of the reasons Ms. Brandon is one of my One-click authors.

All grown up

Jared and Sophie have more than one punishment and confrontation in this book. Jared is still as dark and twisted as before but Sophie is changing. The call of her old life and her children won't let her rest.
There will be violence, danger, opportunity, new beginnings and endings.......
Intense, dark, deparved, complex and compelling. Well written with characters that that stir your emotions, good, bad or ugly. It will leave you with a healthy respect of becareful what you wish for.

This latest book by Felicity Brandon has left me with the biggest book hangover. Her conclusion to her Dark Daddy trilogy Daddy’s Game left me with bittersweet memories. It was as dark and passionate as the first two books in the series but it left me a little unsatisfied at the ending. It feels like Jared needs to go back and get his baby girl Sophie. I hope Felicity makes another book so I can have my happy ever after, I think Jared and Sophie deserve one. They were wonderful characters to read about and the storyline just oozed deep dark desires.

OMG!! What a powerful ride this story was it's intense, hot and steamy to the very last page and so dangerous I devored it.
The power play is phenominal Jared does not give one single inch and is determined to make Sophie his forever and she's becoming stronger in her thoughts everyday I really liked both characters, and the mind games of it all was so thrilling with the twists and turns that I did not see coming and that ending just wow I'm blown away. Pure perfection.

OMG this book is insane! I’m so glad I decided to read it. I was hesitant because I loved how the last one in the series ended with Sophie running away and I knew that she would be recaptured in this one since without her there’s no story and I really wanted her to escape. BUT this is written so well the tension between Sophie and Jared is off the charts and I do not regret my decision to read this book at all! And with out any spoilers, the ending is so amazing and even though it’s a fiction book the ending was relevant to today’s culture, beautifully written and it gave me all the feels. You need to read this book!

Captor & Captive

A suspenseful, dark romantic read and if you really like this very dark genre, this is one of the very best by this superb author Felicity Brandon. I have read many of this authors books which always drag me along in all her gripping reads. Is this the end of this amazing series.
How cruel can Jared be, how many games can he make up to punish Sophie? Will Sophie ever surrender and submit to his cruel rules and punishment or will she ever escape for her beautiful children and her deep love for them? Could Sophie live as a captive without the children?
A highly recommended read

Daddy’s Game is the third book so you need to read the other two to appreciate the story. Sophie on one hand wants to get away from Jared and back to her children but on the other she loves the lovemaking. That is until Jared took her back after her escape and used ginger root and a ball gag on her. Sophie is determined that she is not staying to be Daddy’s little girl any longer. I’m not going to spoil this but Felicity has pulled a great finish so you must read.

The Conclusion

I’m glad for the end of this book. I’m glad that it ended the way I knew it had to. Jared and Sophie just couldn’t do it. They could not be together with all he put the woman through. Great story and I loved reading it this weekend. She crashed that trophy over his head and I had hoped she killed him. No woman wants to be bound and gagged all day, forced to call her captor daddy, and parade around naked. In a way Jared was insane. He could not have rationally thought she liked that at all.
In this book I got more of Jared’s background so I could understand the character and his rationale with how he treats Sophie. Yes the two shared an erotic connection. If she hadn’t escaped she would have mentally been broken with no notion of returning to her kids. Sophie’s marriage was going to end, and there was no other way she could be happy. Jason spent most of his time working, and out with other people. He ignored her most of the time. Her experience with Jared gave her insight to her passion but she wanted love and acceptance for her man. It would have taken a long time for Jared to love anyone. Great series again. Definitely worth the read and the money. I will definitely recommend her to other readers seeking a thrilling dark romance story.

Do read in order.

“She knew she’d inspired it. … had been the architect of her doom. - …. Instigated the relationship…. Left a trail of breadcrumbs for him to follow….. trail that led him directly to her front door”

Continuous reiterating about how Sophie got herself into this conundrum. There are highs and lows within the read. If not for the repetitiveness at times, would have held a 5 star review.

Is it over? What went over in 3 books, actually, actually was within a week of debasement for Sophie. No spoiling, but circumstances changed near end of read. Where to from here????
A storyline full of breadcrumbs to follow, and follow you do.
There appears to be a book 4. What does this bring forth - only way to find out is by continuing.

Whenever I pick up a Brandon book, I know I should be ready to settle in for the long haul; because, it'll be very difficult to leave the story, anywhere! Such is the case with Daddy's Game.

Will Sophie see her children again? Can she get into the right frame of mind to plan an escape? Can she be successful?

There are not too many things I can say, as I don't want to divulge anything. However, what I can say is, Ms. Brandon has once again written an intense Next in this Daddy series. This reader hopes there'll be a next...

I received an advanced reader copy, and this is my honest and voluntary review.
