The Unseen Fleets Come and Worlds Burn
The Unliving are implacable. Unreasonable. No one knows what they want, beyond souls, and bone for their war machines and ships. Now they've set their sights on the Inurans, and hey, I couldn't wish an army of necromancers on a better target.
There's just one problem.
I'm trapped on the Inuran Trade Moon, and the necromancers are attacking. Even if I can get the minister back to her ship we'll still need to find a way to fight their flagship. That's going to be tough to do without enough magic to power the Word of Xal.
If I pull it off I think I get a bonus though. Also, there's that living thing.

Ok, the facts I’m supposed to list in a bio. As of this writing I’m 38 years old and live just north of the Golden Gate Bridge in the beautiful town of Mill Valley. If you’re unsure how to find it just follow the smell of self-entitlement. Once you see the teens driving Teslas you’ll know you’re in the right place.
I live in a tiny studio that I can cross in (literally) five steps and don’t own an oven. But you know what? It’s worth it. I love developing iPhone apps and if you want to work in San Francisco you accept that rent for a tiny place costs more than most people’s mortgage.
If you and about 2 million other people start buying my books I promise to move out of Marin to a house in the redwoods up in Guerneville. No pressure. Wait that’s a lie. Pressure.

Captain Jerek of the freighter Remora, not the old beat up Remora but a new, pristine Remora
exchanged old for new by the terms of prophecy. With the old ship went Jerek's father, Dag, with the new came a pilot who turned out to be a guy by the name of Seket, a paladin of Inura. The new (old) Remora is equipped with a Spelldrive and spellcannon and, oh! so much more goodies! But wait! I get ahead of myself. If you read the first two books in the series, you already know this and don't need a refresher. If you haven't read the first two, then there be SPOILERS!!! ahead. I'm going to skip down a few lines to hide the SPOILERS!!! so you can go get the rest of this series and get caught up. You will meet Jerek, Biff, Rava, Kurz and Vee and a couple other main characters and fall in love with them and new friends they make, and new enemies trying to kill them, rob them, or capture them for nefarious purposes. You will just miss too much if you don't go back and read them first! So either page down to read the synopsis filled with SPOILERS!!! or go read the first two!

Jerek is Captain of the shiny new freighter Remora and Captain of the Word of Xal, one of the ancient Great Ships, built and designed by the Gods long before the DragonFlight. The Word of Xal was designed and built by Xal and Inura, and came with a Guardian named Kemet. The Guardian, while not actually running the massive ship, actually ran the massive ship. Jerek, with great misgivings, handed the Captaincy of the Word to his mother, Irala. Jerek's mother was consort?, lover?, girlfriend of Minister Ramachan. The Minister? She's a politician. Nuff said?
The Trade Moon arrives at the site of where the planet Kemet had been destroyed by the foul, evil bitch, Matron Jolene, head of the Inurans. Jerek and crew assault Jolene's ship, killing and capturing the crew and Jolene. Although Jolene actually got away, she was declared dead and her properties were distributed. Then the fun begins!
Terrific action, dynamic loveable characters, and an amazing storyline with all the twists and curls, rollercoaster highs and lows that you can expect, but seldom find, in fast-action sci-fi space operas all combine beautifully to create an outstanding read!

I fully admit that I enjoyed the original Magitech Chronicles books more than the Magitech Legacy titles so far. I'm just not as invested in Jerek and his crew as I was in the characters from the original series. That said, the one thing the author is consistently able to deliver on is surprises in terms of his worldbuilding, and this book is certainly no exception. The introduction of necrotech on top of the already existing magitech is an exciting and fresh development that spins the ongoing narrative off in so many new and interesting possible ways.
The action, as always, was exciting. The character development was solid, and the pacing was top-notch. I know some people prefer their sci-fi to be longer, sprawling books, but I really enjoy the fact that each addition to this series is shorter, more to the point, and quick reads. It makes it easy to stay invested in the story and get excited about the next installment down the line.
Overall, this was another solid entry into the Magitech universe, with lots of new details to round out the ongoing story that the author is unfolding.

Good, but
It's annoying that the vast majority of power players are female. The MC is surrounded by girls who are smarter, more athletic, more confident, more skilled at combat and shooting and practically everything.
Not a problem with more women than men in group, just that the men seems much weaker in almost every way and its this feminist kind of thinking that isn't really enjoyable to read.
It is refreshing though, that he writes many of the evil people as female, which most guys nowadays are afraid to do.
Not saying the author is feminist, because he doesn't strike me as such, just the need to conform to societal pressure, like most authors have been doing the last decade, which has made reading less and less enjoyable over the years.
Women have their own books. Boys and men don't need to be conditioned through fantasy novels to think they are weaker, we are already inundated with that everywhere else we turn. I read fantasy books to escape reality and current social programming. But its so hard to find books anymore that aren't feminist, even if unintentionally.

As always Chris never fails to deliver
Since I started reading and following the books of Chris. I have always liked the flow of his series and their connectivity. The only issue that I have is waiting for the next book within a eeries. They are great reads and his writings draw you into their world. Thanks Chris

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better...
Chris goes and adds a whole new necrotech to the mix and stirs the pot up all over again? Is Aran now a clone of Xal!?!? IDK!!! Is wonderboy going to surpass Voria and the rest of the new God’s Pantheon?!?! IDK!!!! Read this book. It’s got mechanical spider-legged necromancers broh!

Creepalicious!
Especially the ending parts, but another fantastic episode of god on god, on aracknadrake, on dragon...lots to follow, but it all fits seamlessly together. This storyline always keeps you engaged and always, always wanting more...It's sinister even....literary cocaine at its most addictive....

Full of excitement
Chris Fox writes as if his books are movies and by the gods(you get it?) he makes them just as exciting. I love this spin-off series, tie-ins and new challenges. Only problem is that I felt the book was to short....or maybe I read it too quickly!

A great sequel
Building on the prior epic volumes, this takes the story forward with twists and turns in the politics of gods and the nations in the galaxy.
My enjoyment was slightly marred by numerous typos that escaped proofing and editing :-(

9/10: Fantastic, left me wanting more.
E tu, cannon? That’s a quote from an ancient Terran emperor who got backstabbed by some guy named Brotus. They loved appending the word ‘bro’ to everything.

You know, after the second book. I was expecting nothing. Then we finally get Necromancers and Necrotech. I am back on board. Because I love Necromancers and Necrotech. Probably not really 4 stars, but I liked it. So I'm sticking with it.

Engrossing
