Joshua McManus is back at what he does best, writing his own particular brand of children's poems that will delight and disgust in equal measure. The poetry, aimed at children, but also pandering to adults, takes a look at the more vulgar side of life.
"Hot Dog" takes us on the journey of one of our favorite snacks as it travels from mouth to stomach, while the hilarious "Blue Bottle Fly" is an exercise in how to gross out an audience, while keeping them listening until the final line.
These 20 brilliantly apt and perceptive poems are certain to have your child (and you) rocking with laughter and looking for more of the same.

This was a bit of a flop for both myself and the children. There are one or two shorter and relatively funny poems but overall not great, unfortunately.
At first I had thought these poems were perfect for KS1. They are memorable, humorous and easy to learn off by heart. Then I continued reading and decided that actually children in KS2 would love these poems as well.
This author has not disappointed me before and this book certainly did not. This book holds in a assortments of poems for young kids and each has a different variety to it.The poems are both funny and silly and can be used for adults and children to bond over this silly one. The funny poems make it very easy to remember for what they will read next and easy to recognize when they see a similar style of books. This author included playful language for them to enjoy and to understand.Parents who read this book can have a chance to be silly with their child with this one and it can help bond. The assorted poems is a creative way to bring together similar books that can be compared and enjoyed together. The illustrations bring you in with its creative way of expressing the story. I did notice that it is a little short and a little confusing. The vocabulary was easy for the readers to follow along.
