WWDE+235 - The time is coming for the Defense Force to leave Earth forever.
The effort to reconnect the world has been successful, and a new home for the Defense Force chosen. All that remains is to tackle the Madness.
Sarah Jennifer is still hurting from Ezekiel’s departure. Meanwhile, Ezekiel has his own losses to contend with. A chance encounter in the woods gives him the push he needs to make things right.
While the Madness continues to rage across the globe, the solution is at hand. Before Sarah Jennifer and Esme can heal the world, the Defense Force and their allies must divert an attack on New Romanov and contain the new threat that arises there as events in space begin to affect Earth.
New beginnings, and closing doors.
With her duty to Earth almost complete, Sarah Jennifer prepares to leave Arcadia in the hands of Ezekiel and Adrien. However, there’s an extra Were in her company, and she must make the decision as to his place in her life....
Can Sarah Jennifer move past the pain of loss and allow love into her heart?
But it is the perfect coming together of so many of the previous series. And as much as I'm looking forward two BA's next book, hate to realize this is a lead up to the ending of the Endgame series! Can't imagine a world without the anticipation of the next KGU book! Please don't make it so!
I couldn't put this down - well, I admit to stopping at one point, so that I could sob my heart out, at the death of a very well loved character but, apart from that, I just had to keep reading until the last word - and that included the author's notes, too!
I've been so fortunate to have read so many series, that are set within the Kurtherian Universe, and written by so many different authors, and have been amazed at the quality of the writing being offered to us readers - but this series has had something extra special to it, that I can't define in words, but which had me rooting for every single character, or hissing at them, if they didn't play nice, as if they were people I knew well in my real life - hence the crying when one of them died so tragically!
It's always such a pleasure to come across writing like this, as it really brings the whole story to life for me, and it's such an honour to be able to read these stories, as I am doing.
This was a great series to marry both the Age of Madness, to the beginnings of the Age of Magic, and it also answered so many questions that I'd asked myself, as I'd read previous series, so it was with a feeling of great satisfaction that I finished this wonderfully written last book of this series - along with a sadness that I HAD finished it, as this is the kind of writing that drew me into the Kurtherian Universe in the first place.
So it's thanks to Craig Martelle,, who first introduced me to this world within worlds, and Michael Anderle, of course, who started it all, from the very beginning!
But I must say a huge Thank You, to N. D. Roberts, too, for making me feel so deeply for the people she imagined, in order to inhabit Irth at this crucial time of change!
So, now that this series ends, my reading list is telling me that my next book to read, is book one of The Caitlin Chronicles: Dawn of Chaos!
As I came across Caitlin, in this last book of the Birth of Magic series, I'm very much looking forwards to the reading of her story, too!
Wow! I have not read a book this well done in quite awhile. N.D. Roberts is a force to be reckoned with! She’s done an amazing thing, she’s tied together all the threads leading up to the age of magic. She’s ended the age of Madness and given Irth the ability to thrive by letting humanity start over which was Bethany Anne’s gift before she left for the stars! There is a perfect mix of happiness and sadness within; life does end sometimes but it always begins anew. Sarah Jennifer has shed sweat, blood and tears to get the defense force and humanity to this point and now pass the torch to Ezekiel…I imagine we will be seeing wonderful things from Ms. Roberts in the future, this is a book you don’t wanna miss a total 5 gold stars so buy it now and disappear into the end of the age of madness and the beginning of the age of magic on Irth!!!
Loved this book,. I started my kurtherian experience all out of order with an ad on Facebook about magic being restricted...and went into it all from there , have always wanted a fill in for Ezekiel ever since starting. Now lal KU main books read, nomad, etc this was such a nice find,. Great storytelling as well.
I love the way these books bridge The Age of Madness to The Age of Magic. It filled in so much and at the same time you get to see characters from other books and find out how some of turned out the way they did. I hope Sarah Jennifer and her pack turn up again and I cannot wait to see where the Kurtherian world goes next.
Really great explanation of how magic started on earth and how Acadia started as well as a lot of back story to Ezekiel and others. There was so much back story it kinda took away from some of the good parts of the story. There was some conflicts like cannot fix vampires but fixed Mary in the pod doc, which I understood.
The premise here was that the programming language could be corrupted in the nano's. This probably could be done easily pre WWDE, but realistically there should not have been any one left with the knowledge or skills to implement the change. Plus those who had the skill were most likely gone.
I loved this book as well as the whole series! All the loose ends come together and tie Themselves into a neat package. Lots of plot twists, some happy some sad, all very well done. I would highly recommend this series to all. Enjoy!
What a way to bring it all together thanks Natalie and Michael this book has and does it all I can't believe we are coming to the end Love the books every single series
This was a bittersweet read! I wanted to find out how it ended, but I didn't want the story to end. Suffice to say, it's exciting, emotions and an excellent read.
I am going to miss SJ and the family, but with all things in life I will keep reading. Thank you all for your great stories. Now to all of you, I will see in your books . Thank You.
Wow, I am blown away by this story. It's all kinds of amazing & well done. I think the author poured her heart into it. The emotion was raw & beautiful too. I'll be reading this book again in the future.
This, the last story of the series, brings together many tracks from different ages. It makes sense of many questions about the madness and the birth of magic. A great read.
Just concluded book 3 of Magic. A lot of names got blended together, but you must go with the flow. A satisfying conclusion/progression of the storyline and I still have much to read.
I hate this is the last one in the series. Sarah Jennifer finally pushed past her past and found happiness. I sure there's more coming out of this series...I feel like there could've been more. I really enjoyed this series!
Words paint a thousand pictures! And boy, doesn’t Robert’s and Anderle’s words do just that. I can see in my mind all that is happening as it happens and relish the fantastic imagination of the authors. Another brilliant book in this series. Bring on the next!!
This was an incredible story with battles, surprises, love and loss. There are also a lot of surprises. As an introduction into this part of Kurtherian universe I cannot wait to see what comes next. Enjoy
This was an incredible finish to the series, though I was displeased that it felt like it ended too soon! I really hope we see more of a number of these characters in the future!
