Well, compared to the last volume it was a bit slower paced this time. It's building up the excitement for the following volume as barely anything happened. The next special exam got announced, which is great as I hoped for one that is more interactive this time around, but it won't be held till the summer break, which led this volume to be more of a preparation of the special exam than anything else. There were a lot of scenes where the characters just had a meeting, a negotiation or anything similar but not really something particularly thrilling happening. I wouldn't say this volume was bad, but since it's just a buildup for the following volume I can't say it's as good as the previous one I read which evoked more feelings in me. The white room student's soliloquy confirmed for me who of the two characters I suspected of being the white room student send out to make Ayanokouji get expelled from the school was, but I still liked the whole mystery around it, especially as it took me two whole books to find out.

I do appreciate how Ayanokouji's life also changed now that he is in the second school year and that it isn't as easy as previously for him to stay in the background. Otherwise I think I would have thought his character to lack some development, which would have been a disappointment as I really enjoy the light novel. In general, so many characters developed in some way throughout the whole story and I really want to see more of it.

I want to talk about the ending of the last volume since I'm reviewing the next one now so it wouldn't be a spoiler. Sudou thinks 'cause of Ayanokouji self-harming himself that he is somehow a great fighter, which makes no sense to me. I mean, yes he reacted faster than Housen, but that's it. He never punched anyone or the like, he even hurt himself in the end so how is Sudou so sure that he is so good in fighting just 'cause of his fast reactions? One can have a fast reaction and still be awful in pushing someone effectively and strongly. It just makes no sense to me.

I have this weird feeling like the information that Ayanokouji's dominant hand is the right one and the white room student's one is left is somehow important for the next volume or in general for the special exam. It gives me murder mystery vibes, like someone got murdered but the murder can only be left-handed or something.

Lastly, I want to mention that despite the ending being the only powerful part for me, the other one's were important as well, it's like you can't just skip this volume or ignore the informations given here as they will still play an important role for the plot later on. I just think the ending is the most powerful one as it confirmed something for me and it also made me looking forward to the next volume. My only concern is since this volume felt a bit like info-dumping that I might get overwhelmed with it later on.

Usually I give this series 5 stars cause that's what it deserves this series is a amazing and never not entertaining. And this has nothing to do with the writer and everything to do with who translated it but it was BAD. It's like half way through the book they got sloppy and just didn't care anymore? Spelling errors and sentence errors half the time I had to read the sentence multiple times to try and figure out what it was supposed to say. Never have I seen the translation this bad for this series so why now??? I wanted to give less stars cause that's just how bad it was, but I can't fault the writer for the bad translation. But they seriously need to look into who's responsible cause they are making this amazing series hard to read.

Basicamente uma preparação para os volumes seguintes. Faltou uma trama própria ou algum conflito mais imediato, e por já ter lido o volume seguinte, percebo melhor agora que esse é um déficit bastante presente em Light Novels. Infelizmente é bastante comum dos autores usarem um volume inteiro para construir uma trama dos volumes seguintes e com isso, acaba sacrificando um volume para poupar os outros de todo build up necessário. Tudo bem ser mais lento e construir aos poucos, mas quando você consegue resumir todos os acontecimentos de 300 páginas em 2 linhas, alguma coisa deu errado.

Liked the starting of this volume much better than the previous volume. Things started exactly where it had ended in the last volume. Well, things are changing for Ayanokoji. And honestly It's so fun to read.

Seeing all the different reactions from his classmates. The denial, the anger, the envy, and what not. It all made starting so much fun. The reaction of the Ayanokoji group was also interesting to read. I do wonder what Haruka was doing.

So another volume is another special test. This time, another Inhabitant Island test. With significant chances compared to the previous one. This one is much more complex than the previous one. The whole volume was basically the build-up to it. And honestly, it was good. It wasn't over the top, but the underlying schemes made the volume more than intriguing. Sakayanagi and Ryueen both have unexpected and interesting schemes brewing up.

The mugging scenario was hilarious. It was short, but the joke was quite good. What followed next was also funny. This part was full of comedic reliefs. However, a question remains, "How much Japanese did Albert actually understand and speak?". And oh boy, the character of Ishizaki is so chaotic and comedic. His character barely had much development up until now, but boy, it's so good now.

The development of Ayanokoji and Kei's relation is going quite well. Well, better than what I thought it would. And, boy o boy Ichika is something else. Her character is just amazing. Kiryuuin, aka the female kouenji from third year, is fascinating too.

I'm excited to read what happens in the special test. There's so much doing on, and I wanna know all about those things. GO KOUENJI!!!!

Feels like a set up volume by the end because it's basically just laying the groundwork for the big island battle royale coming up between grades, but it also has me very excited to see how it all plays out and if any significant characters get expelled by the end.

That said, this volume is plastered with errors, from spelling to grammar to sentences which don't always make sense. My copy of volume 6 had some similar issues too, but this was just annoying. Hopefully future volumes are proofread a bit better before release.

Really an amazing story. Ayanokauji's ability is revealing now. Ayanokauji and kei's chemistry is getting better and better.
Biggest part is scheme between Katsuragi and RYUUEN. and Ichinose and Sakyanagi is joining the bettle together. And biggest shock is revelation of white room kid besides Ayanokauji. Waiting for next volume.

I hate to say it, but this was my least favorite volume (so far.) That includes the entirety of Year 1 btw.

I was hoping the epilogue chapter would make up for it, but I couldn't help but feel disappointed. Nanase, really? I suspected her from the beginning. If anything, I was suspicious of Yagami (still am).

Honestly, my favorite parts of this volume were centered around the love triangle between Shinohara, Ike and Komiya. I'm seriously rooting for Ike and Shinohara. Other than that, I liked the part where Ayanokouji and Kei almost kissed. I'm hoping their relationship will continue to grow. Ichika interrupted them and ruined their moment, but I actually like Ichika's straightforwardness and her "dirty mind", oddly enough.

I thoroughly enjoyed Sakayanagi's newfound alliance with Ichinose. Those two are both characters I love, and Ichinose can be pretty smart and cunning when she wants to be. I wouldn't say they're on equal footing, but Ichinose isn't an idiot.

Kanzaki has always been a character I've kept my eye on. He's still fairly interesting, and finally Ayanokouji acknowledges that about him.

After all the explanations of this new island exam, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed that Ayanokouji didn't reveal who he decided to group up with. I suspect he went with Ryuuen...but I can't say that with 100% certainty.

Un nuevo examen especial en una Isla deshabitada, pero esta vez a una escala totalmente diferente a la que se dio en el primer año, donde hay una competición entre todos los grados, además de que Koenji participara en serio en este examen.

Senti mucha injusticia cuando Keisei y los demas alumnos increparon a Ayanokouji por la nota perfecta que obtubo en matematicas, como preferian creer que hizo trampa ha aceptar lo inteligente que es; Horikita hizo una buena red de camuflaje sobre la nota perfecta de Ayanokouji, y aunque me disgusto que no se rebelara su genialidad, fue bueno que dejaran la posibilidad abierta a que Ayanokouji demuestre sus habilidades en las demás materias más adelante.

Horikita perdio la apuesta, ahora forma parte del Consejo Estudiantil.

Me sorprendio que Ryuuen comprara el pase de Katsuragi a la Clase de Ryuuen, es un gran refuerzo.

Este volumen giro entorno a los preparativos de el examen especial de la Isla deshabitada, por lo que se viene un arco muy interesante.

While reading Classroom of the Elite 2nd year volume 2 I felt excited. Our main character Ayanokoji is finally showing off his powers and we get to see the effects of what he did during his bet with Horikita. Many characters were left shocked by Ayanokoji's perfect math score on the test because the questions would be impossible to solve for high school students and Ayanokoji never seemed to be showing his true abilities before this. We also got to see Ayanokoji and Karuizawa getting closer and as their relationship gets closer and closer. Overall, I enjoyed this volume and it had me very excited for the next volume where we be able to see the deserted island exam.

Not much has happened in this volume and no special exams happened. New special exam was announced and we saw lot of interactions and cooperations between classes and years. Anyway i still quite enjoyed this volume. I thought it was interesting how the classes and year discussed and asked each other for cooperation and more holes were filled in the story. And towards the end we saw Tsubasa-san and tsukishiro. It looks a bit like she is the whiteroom student but rather Tsubasa-san is one of his pawns. And tsukishiro might not stick around for too long so he will go all out. Ayanokoji has to be careful. Everyone will go after him.

this book felt like the setup to the next few, so in that sense not as much action as the first, but getting to see more of the machinations of the other classes, and seeing ayanoukoji becoming more comfortable being more in the spotlight was fun. ayo and karuizawa's relationship developments are really adorable, and i fucking love the bonkers trio of ishizaki, albert, and hoshiumi kidnapping ayanoukoji in the most polite way possible

gonna pick up the next one right away, can't handle the suspense!!

Mm this is the first time I feel a bit disappointed by Classroom of the Elite. This volume is nothing but aftermath of the first special exam and a set-up to the next one. Still smart and entertaining but the set-up was dragged way too long, I fear. And after all that stuff, the White Room agent was revealed just like that from Tsukishiro's point of view? Ayanokouji doesn't even know? Oh come on, the enjoyment of Classroom of the Elite comes from figuring out things from Ayanokouji's POV and appreciating his genius.

This one was interesting primarily for the ongoing reveals to other peeps about our MC's talents, their surprise, and preps for the new special exam.

But nothing much HAPPENED in this novel except the setup for more, later. And now I have to wait.. unless I switch over to the anime or something, lol. Oh, well.

Year 2 the island exam, ALL THE YEARS INVOLVED THIS TIME. I don't know about Kinegasa here, this was a MASSIVE story and needed breaking up into 3 volumes to get the full scope and apparently even then there's stories left on the floor of things that happened on the island that couldn't be fit into the story.

And 90% of it is all Ayanokoji on his own - well he has a tag along with him in an adorable little Kouhai who is totally not dangerous at all guys.

A nearly 500 page book that goes -- nowhere. And yet somehow still is interesting and keeps you reading. That being said, I am looking forward to volume 3 a lot more when the actual exam takes place. Yes, you read that right, do not expect the special exam to be in this book -- it isn't.

It's more of the first half of a story -- and for LN I get it, but still gets a star taken off cause of it.

Volume interlocutorio carino ma abbastanza lento fino a alle ultime 80 pagine. Da lì l’introduzione di un personaggio da il via a vari colpi di scena tra cui la rivelazione dello studente mandato dalla White Room e un inaspettato, ma sensato e geniale cambio di classe. Inoltre Koenji sembrerebbe finalmente obbligato a impegnarsi. Volume che serve a mettere hype per il prossimo test in cui si prospetta la resa finale dei conti fra il direttore e il protagonista.

I can tell the next novel is going to be so good!

But this one was just a set up for that, which is a bit of a let down considering the drama and action packed ending of the first one.

We have some partnerships and groundwork laid out, that will set up for an interesting special exam with all classes.

And also the reveal at the end? Idk kind of saw it, little boring depending how they pull this off.

This was basically a prelude (idk if that's the right word) for the special exam in the next volume. I didn't necessarily dislike that though. I really like the dynamics that are going on between the different leaders, there's more "politics" going on. Also, I'm confused. Is Nanase...? And is Ayanokoji really gonna solo the exam? I don't know, but I guess I'll have to read the next volume very soon.

This one takes place before the special exam, so it more like the preparation for the exam. And because of that, the pace felt really slow ‘cause nothing really happened.

Tbh, I more excited about the short story than the actual main plot in this one.

And also, do they planning on making all the girls fall for our main character or what?

تطور الشخصيات من حول أيانوكوجي يتضح أكثر؛ حيث يتحول الجميع إلى نسخة أهدأ وأكثر قدرة على رؤية الصورة الكاملة من حولهم.
ومع ذلك هناك سؤال؛ إلى أين تتجه الرواية؟ هل كل ما سنراه هو نجاح أيانوكوجي الساحق في سحب الخيوط وتغيير الأشخاص من حوله حتى التخرج؟
أتمنى رؤية شخصية أيانوكوجي تظهر تطورًا أيضًا.

Very much a book to set things up for the future.
Not a bad thing, I am definetly looking forward to picking up the next book, but as I'm rating this specific book I feel 2 stats is the right amount as not a lot of development or plot momentum really happened here. It really was just a big set up.
