Nick Stephenson was born and raised in Cambridgeshire, England and will now refer to himself in the first person. My approach to writing is to hit hard, hit fast, and leave as few spelling errors as possible. I write thrillers, suspense novels, and the occasional witty postcard, all of which are designed to get your pulse pounding. Don’t let my headshot fool you – I’m actually full colour, on most days.

My books are a mixture of mystery, action, and humour. If you’re looking for a good place to start, take a look at my Leopold Blake series of thrillers, available now at www.noorosha.com/books and out soon on Amazon, Sony, Barnes & Noble, and the iTunes store.

I decided not to buy this book. It looked like information I was already familiar with, and even more than the money, I don’t have the time to waste. But then I realized I had *already* bought it and it was sitting on my Kindle waiting for me. Thank you, serendipity! This book was *absolutely* worth the time. It offers some of the best, most pointed and practical advice I’ve ever seen on Kindle keyword strategies. Honestly, I feel like Stephenson has done an incredibly selfless thing is sharing this with the rest of us.

A truly valuable perspective on how to use the amazon system. I have already tried some of the techniques regarding keywords and if my books bounce to the best-seller list, I'll be sure to let you know. Still more to read.

As self-published author with five books already under my belt, I know how difficult the whole process is – especially discoverability. There is no “silver bullet” for success, only a lot of hard work; though the trick is to work smarter and not harder. ‘How to’ books like “Supercharge Your Kindle Sales” are useful as a way of assessing your actives against others experiences and provide an opportunity to find new / better ways of doing things; hence working smarter.

Packed with information, hints, tips and real life examples there is plenty to dwell on and take in. Time is tight for all of us. Nick hasn’t padded out this book just to make you feel you’re getting value for money – never mind the quality, feel the width syndrome, but he gets over the nub of each topic with links for further reading where necessary.
This is a great resource, written in a very open and honest manner – qualities much to be admired. He has, I think, discovered the secret of expanding available time, (which he doesn’t share) either that or he hardly ever sleeps! The upshot is we, his readers, have benefited hugely from his efforts. Although assessing and reworking my own approach to marketing my books on Amazon will take some time/effort as a result, at least I know I’m not wasting my energy, money and resources.

Thanks Nick for putting pen to paper or fingers to keyboard: an invaluable addition to my collection of self-help books.

When I read Supercharge Your Kindle Sales, I was disappointed by how sparse it was. I expected a much more robust treatment of how the Amazon system works, akin to Let's Get Visible. Author Nick Stephenson primarily focuses on just two marketing tactics: improving mailing list sign ups and improving keywords. I am giving this book four stars, because I implemented his mailing list suggestions using MailChimp and have been impressed with the results. I am not so impressed with the key word section. There has always been a lot of debate surrounding the usefulness of keywords. Personally, I believe that non fiction can benefit from key words a lot more than fiction. In this section Stephenson advocates for a few different programs that assist with keyword research (for which he has an affiliate relationships). I purchased one program, Kindle Samurai and have had mixed results. Several writers I know swear by this book. I think the advice given is useful, but there just isn't much of it. Stephenson doesn't even touch categories, covers, or other areas that can have a big impact on Amazon sales. Overall, I think this book is worth the price for authors who have published several books and are looking to get to the next level. This is especially true if you haven't given a lot of time and focus to your mailing list and keywords.

This was actually a nice surprise. I've read a lot of books with similar content that don't provide any valuable information. But this one wasn't the case. I recommend it to anyone wanting to start publishing books on Amazon.

A really good book, full of valuable tips. I'm upgrading it to a five-star review. What I particularly like is that the author has experimented and reported back on various promotional techniques. He's fast becoming a real expert. I won't divulge his real name, but I'm now a subscriber to some of his other things and have bought one or two of his products.

This is an excellent reference book for understanding the popularity lists versus the bestseller lists on Amazon and so much more. There are some great ideas in terms of working with key words that I am getting ready to implement. I've re-read this book and it has become a great reference for re-engineering my platform from the website to the email list to how to market books.

Brilliant twist on how to market a book

So many people say that the only way to market fiction is to write more fiction. This book proves that wrong. People who want fiction still have to browse/search for something... And this book shows you how to get in front of them. Kudos and well done, thank you for sharing. So many people would have kept this information to themselves.

Insightful.

This book is great if you use Mailchimp. If you don't (like me), you can still benefit from this book by the freebies he gives, as well as the wealth of information that Nick shares. I will implement these strategies to see how they work.

One thing I wish the author would have mentioned is if book awards on the book cover help a book climb the Amazon ratings. I also noticed that Nick misspelled "enrollment" more than once in this book. Those were the only two typos that I noticed in this book.

I like that the author encourages readers to implement the strategies that are given in this book. After looking him up, I could see that the author practices what he preaches, which is a good sign.

The new information that's in this book is useful but much of it is the same as in his "Reader Magnets" book and the screenshots used as illustrations are so faint and small that they are useless. He says if that's a problem, you should download a PDF but I don't think I should have to do that. I got the impression that most of the goal of the book is to get the reader to buy software through his affiliate links.

A little short, but some solid advice

I would've scored it higher had it been longer and more up to date. Still, not too shabby. Nick's heart's clearly in the right place.

Nick Stephenson is one of those writers that gets raved about. I'll be honest, while his book had some great techniques which I'll willingly try, I was kind of shocked and disappointed at the quality of his book. I bought a paperback. The paperback was formatted for eBook only which meant words were spaced oddly some sentences had one word on the left hand side and another on the right with nothing in between. The quality of photos in the book was variable too, I struggled to read some of the images. There was also a really obvious spelling mistake. The last thing that really annoyed me, was that he embedded links into his book - without providing the hyperlink so that paperback readers (WHO PAY MORE for the book) then can't copy/type up the link to go through to the pages and templates he offers.

Whilst the overall paperback quality was very disappointing, the techniques do seem sound, and I will try them.

AWESOME advice, paired with some amazing actionable steps. And the greatest part? The book is short, sweet, and low on "fluff", which helps us to get to the meat of the material and apply the advice ASAP.

Nick Stephenson knows his stuff, and he provides some wonderful insight into the issues of keywords, categories, lead magnets, and other book selling hacks that can really raise an author's sales and profile on Amazon. Highly, HIGHLY recommended. Plus the book is totally FREE!

Also, check out Nick Stephenson's amazing "Your First 10,000 Readers" course. There is a free mini course for you to try before you can then upgrade to the major course. I've taken both, and I can't recommend Nick's courses highly enough. I feel so confident about my author career for this coming 2016, and I have Nick to thank for it!

If you're trying to decipher keywords on Amazon, this is the best book I've read on the subject. On the other hand, I'd already done a lot of research on the subject elsewhere, so there wasn't much new to me (thus the four-star rating).

The second half of the book is about email lists. And while I'm sure the author's tactics work for him, they feel a bit too intrusive for me. Granted, all of the other email-list-management suggestions I've seen geared toward authors are very similar, so I guess I'll need to hunt down my own middle ground.

Back to the plus side, the book can be borrowed for free with Kindle Unlimited. Well worth the approximately 50 cents I probably spend per book there, given my voracious reading habits.

The keywords tips where what I wanted to read the book for. I attempted to change keywords several months ago on my non fictions books and saw an increase in sales immediately. But now I know how to fine tune those keywords even more and I'm excited to see what will happen. Also planning to try these tips for my fictions books coming out this Spring. The info on building my mailing list was extra icing on the cake. I liked the simple to the point format of the book. It had just enough to get the point across and not too much to overwhelm you. Highly recommend!

Simple, free, and actionable advice for indies

The headline to my review says it all. I cannot comment on the effectiveness of these strategies for my own career just yet, as my first novel is just now available for pre-order and I do not have all the tools necessary to put these strategies into place. However, I will definitely be adjusting my keywords, tweaking my email newsletter process, and filling in my back catalog as I go along in my author journey.
