Mia’s life has been forever altered, all because she bravely helped put key members of the Russian mob behind bars and they are determined to seek revenge. Now in the Witness Protection Program, she has been hidden away in a remote area in Wolfe Woods. Uneasy with the isolation and all that the wilderness has to offer, meeting her handsome neighbor, Dominic Wolfe is like a kick-start to her heart as the mutual attraction heats up. Little did she know Dominic has a well-kept secret, more astonishing and dangerous than her own. Dominic is an alpha werewolf, an enforcer, a deadly killing machine, he is the hand of justice in the wolf community.

Meeting Mia unleashed Dominic’s protective nature, but wolf law will not allow him to do any more than “own” this little human. How does he tell Mia what he is? This gutsy woman finds comfort and a renewed passion for life in the arms of this mysterious, yet powerful man, but danger is still lurking and biting at her heels. As strong as Dominic is, Mai fears for his life if he gets too close, should she tell him who she really is?

Obviously, it takes an accomplished author to almost melt one’s eReader in just a few well written pages. Eva Gordon is an accomplished and talented author and her latest novella, Alpha’s Pet, Hidden is chocked full of intrigue, secrets, sigh-worthy romance and spice. Ms. Gordon manages to tell a brilliant tale in a world of her own creation with characters that almost breathe, they are so full of personality. Are you looking for an adult, romantic paranormal read that will give you a good cardiac workout? I guarantee this is better than a good cup of coffee to wake you right up!

I am not always a fan of New Adult reads. The characters tend to be immature and annoy me. This story fits that category for me.

The writing is oddly stilted and feels awkward. It just did not flow in my opinion. Plenty of people loved this book, so maybe it just isn't my cup of tea.

The steam is really hawt and smexy. It happens super quick, more of a lust story than a lovefest.

The narrative is a mixed bag going between the two leads. Mia is kind of annoying with her lack of care for her situation. She also acts very much her youthful age. Dominic is very controlling and definitely wolfie. It just felt like a strange dynamic.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Meghan Kelly, who was wonderful and kept me listen long after I lost interest. She has a great energy in the read which keeps the story moving at a swift pace. I always enjoy her tone, it is happiness to my ears.

This is a serial, which also annoyed me. I prefer my story all in one shot. I am not really interested in reading the rest of the story. It was intriguing, but just not worth it for me in the long run.

Disclosure – I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts opinions and ratings are my own. I was under no obligation to post a review or give positive feedback.

*** I hope this review was useful to you and helped your decision to read or not read this book. I love reading and sharing my opinions with other readers. I listen at double speed; all my impressions of the narration are from that setting. Thanks for taking the time to read my review! What absolute drivel. It's ridiculous on so many levels. I don't know what ticks me off the most. The money or time I wasted on it, or that I actually read it. Though to be honest, halfway thru I started skimming the pages quickly just to end my misery.

Mia is in the witness protection programme having seen her father murdered. She is on the run from the Russian mob but this is her third ( yes third!) identiy as they keep catching up with her. Now she's living a quiet life in Wolf Woods with a slightly accentric neighbour who seems determined to matchmake but the object of those aspersions is Dominic Wolfe who turns out to be the most commanding male that Mia has ever laid eyes on!
Dominic is his Packs enforcer, yes that's right he is a Werewolf and considers himself to be Top Dog! From the moment he smells Mia's natural scent he is addicted and everything inside him wants to hold, taste and never let her go. Slight problem though as humans are not considered suitable as Werewolf Mates and even if they were Dominic is already promised to another. Dominic has a plan though, seduce Mia and keep her as his pet! Now what could possibly go wrong with that idea?
This is a very adult book and designed to entertain and titilate the reader . I think some readers might find the fulsome descriptions about " masculine arms " etc a little bit too full on and cheesy if honest but I cannot deny that it was original and entertaining . Dominic is not used to anyone saying no to him as he is an Alpha male and the author cleverly incorporates his role as Enforcer into the story. I'm not sure that I personally would like to be anyone's pet but can well see that as a dominant species the Weres would view humans as less than themselves.
Mia, Mia, Mia! What do you say about a heroine who constantly gives herself and her new identity away!? Twice now she has tripped herself up and yet here she is suspecting that Dominic is a hit man and she isn't running for cover! Ok I get that he can be very persuasive and Mia is merely letting her libido rule her head where he is concerned but at least she does show back bone and assert her independence at times . What's really funny is the mis directed communication between them with Mia suspecting all manner of things and although he plays along Dominic has an even bigger surprise in store for Mia.
I listened to this book on Audible which is a relatively new departure for me. I really enjoyed the narration and thought the female narrator did a very creditable job with the different voices. Mia was given a sweet tone whilst Dominic was a growly kind of male that seemed to really suit his role within his Pack. I will admit I have listened to some audio books with really slow narration that failed to capture my attention at times . I think the problem is that i personally read quite fast so it was a joy to discover this narrator . Audio books are ideal for those times when engaged in mundane tasks and Ms Gordon's story helped liven up many household chores. This is only the first in this series and I'm sure the next book will be equally entertaining. I'd recommend this to those like myself who enjoy paranormal romance
I as gifted a copy of this in exchange for an honest review

This is only book one of Mia and Dominic's story and it ends with a fairly satisfying happy for now ending. So even though it is not a standalone, I feel you could very easily read this book and then decide if this series is for you without making that full series commitment right from the word go. Overall, I enjoyed this interesting werewolf/human romance but freely admit that you had to take the good with the bad when reading it. I thought the storyline was engaging. It contains a blend of romance, danger, action, suspense, drama and humor. There are some parts that come across as a bit cheesy, while others offered an intriguing uniqueness to them. I liked Mia but did sometimes wonder where her head was at. I really felt that considering everything she might have asked a few more pertinent questions or had more doubts and fears about what lay ahead for them as a "couple" or at least specifically what she would have to prepare herself to deal with emotionally. However that is just my opinion and I do like to overanalyze things . Dominic for me was just OK. I enjoyed most of his alpha tendencies but there were a couple I found quite off putting. I'm not totally behind this whole "pet" scenario. As readers we get a few more details about what the rules are, how things must be and some of the (not so positive) possible outcomes of this arraignment (and that is why I wish Mia knew more about what she was getting herself into). I did like how protective he was of Mia and the caring and tenderness he showed her. As a couple they generated some very steamy heat. As far as the narration goes, I would rank it as fair. It was not that I thought the narrator did a terrible job because she didn't. Her voice was pleasant and easy to listen to. That being said, I think that a male narrator would have been a better choice, simply because so many of the characters were male and even though this narrator did her best, I found her portrayal of the main bad guy in this book to seem almost campy. It is hard to take the bad guy seriously if you want to laugh at him. Altogether, it was far from perfect but I did find it fun and entertaining and it left me wanting to explore what happens to this couple next (even if I fear that they have Huge issues and problems ahead).

Great Read

Alpha Wolf's Pet Hidden Book 1
By Eva Gordon
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This a good read and a book that changes pace and keeps you very interested. Ms. Gordon gives you a great experience. With a good experience of others in the paranormal of wolf law enforcement. Additionally it's storyline is very enjoyable and the places that were mentioned in the book was scenic. This is a quick read which I recommend for anybody who wants to read something a little different. This book provides an in depth look at the details of events that can't be explained as by the wolf law enforcement community it seem so realistic. The storyline is exotic, fascinating, unusual, well written, fast pace, storytelling and it's very hard to stop reading. It is one thing to read about regular wolf shifters, It is quite another to read a story of highly trained law enforcement that's wolves who deals with the really bad wolves. It seems there are some strange encounters with some creepy, some unsettling and some very bad and crazy shifters. If you like to read a book about the unusual, then this is one. I like to give teasers so you can read why I feel this way

This material is protected by copyright.
Dominic slammed against the cage and roared. Maccon lowered his gaze and backed away, his tail between his legs. “Turn human, now, or I’ll come in and make you my bitch!” Maccon changed into a man. No alpha werewolf would concede to being mounted by a superior male. His human form like his wolf was hulky and intimidating. Bigger than his father, Conall. He appeared in his early twenties, with a full head of long shoulder-length black hair. His demeanor oozed alpha confidence. No wonder his father had not given up on him. Maccon was third in line after his older brothers, Conan and Steele, to be the pack sovereign. Yet there was something menacing about Maccon. Dominic understood the basest of werewolves but the vibe he got from Maccon was pure malevolence. Maybe it was his eyes. One was blue and the other dark brown, almost black. He glared at Dominic. “Father says you will cure me.” “I understand your sorrow. My venom killed my older brother and half my pack. Dominic cocked his head. Odd. How could a wolf force a new human to bite her? Unless, he refused to obey their law to transform their pack from wolf to human form. “Naturally, she wanted to be human.” He snapped, “I do not. Humans are scum.” “Did you tell your father you wished to turn into a natural wolf?” Maccon shot him a sinister smile. “My preference is to remain a wolf but with a human mind.” Dominic focused on Maccon’s eyes, one blue, one dark, as if they were two split souls forced to unite. Why? Was he planning to start a new race of wolves? A usurper initiating war between man and werewolves? “You can stay in wolf form as long as you wish, but you, son of Conall, are a prince.

Maccon grabbed her in a headlock. “Come any closer and I’ll snap her neck.” A big silver wolf with shredded clothes and familiar feral eyes slowly stepped out of the forest. The new wolf was beautiful. It had thick silver fur with reddish blond hues. He gave her a quick glance. Dominic! Maccon snarled, “Shift now or I kill her.” The big silver wolf growled and stalked closer. “You have two seconds.” The wolf shook his fur and an instant later, there stood a naked Dominic. “Let her go.”
Maccon relaxed his choking grip, but not by much. He sniffed. “You found my pack.” “You think your father will forgive you for murdering them?” “My father is a bitch to pack rules.” Maccon snorted. “But not as soft on humans as you apparently are.” Mia was so confused, her head pounded. Why had Maccon killed his pack? Dominic shot her a heartfelt look of concern and pleaded, “I’ll get you a car, but as soon as I do, let her go.

I found Alpha Wolf's Pet Hidden to be a unusual compelling romance. I enjoyed it from beginning to end. I like utilizing the read and audio functionality. I love to listened while l read and let me tell you it's a great story. The story is paced and flows well. If you are in need of a fantastic paranormal shifter read and audio then listen and read this is one. Every book isn't for everyone so If this is not the kind of book or genre you like to read, skip this book. If you enjoy reading shifter romance with suspense and lots of action this is a great choice for your TBR list. Highly I recommend this book and the series.

If you believe in the world of paranormal romance, the possibilities are endless and fascinating!

Love this one. Second one I heard from the author. Hero is Dominic. Heroine is Mia . I first meet these 2 in her latest one . Mia and Domestic are so in love. Now I can see why.
Mia is running from a Russian Mob. She is a witness protection plan. Her agent sends to to the state of Washington; that is where is meets Domenic.
Dominic is the enforcers the wolves. Any Den has a problem they send the wolves for him to train . Dominic sees Mia and he needs to have her . But she needs to sign papers for Mia not to say anything and keep the secret of the wares .
The narrator is great it’s the first I heard from her and her voice is soothing.
Loved it

4.5 Stars!!

Mia a.k.a. Margaret Isabelle Abbott is in trouble a lot of trouble. She is in the witness protection program and has been for about a year now. Her father was killed her mother has been gone since she was a child and her grandmother is sick. She said goodbye to her old life and is now trying to stay alive. The mob that is after her already found her once hopefully not this time! She has been moved to a small cabin out in the woods it’s a nice cozy place and she immediately loves it! It’s a small town where they are hiding her now not like the big city she is used to. Her neighbors are Ellen Johnson who is her elderly neighbor and then there is Dominic Wolfe who is by the way is a billionaire and very very sexy too ;)

“Mia chuckled. Wolfe? Wolf Woods? Why do I feel I just moved into Little Red Riding Hood’s cottage?”

Dominic Wolfe (*sighs) yes he is the APLHA male! Sexy and dominating and funny too! He was visiting Ellen when he first saw Mia (scented her) and his inner wolf wanted her like he never wanted anyone else. Confused by the strength of his desire for this human he needs to learn more about her. Dominic is known as the enforcer among the packs.
Ellen tries to play match maker of course. But Mia isn’t looking for a relationship right now with everything that is going on in her life. But Ellen does make some great pies and jam! And she is a sweetheart.

Mia bumps into Dominic one day in town. She spills her hot coffee on him and when she looks up and sees it’s him, HOLY HELL HE IS HOT! And here is where I will stop and give you some snip it’s because I want you to read this book.

“Mia gloried at being in control of the dominating magnificent male. His erection was like a nuclear missile primed for jettison with a powerful explosion. She bent down and gently but his ass as she squeezed his supersized manatomy.” “He threw his head back. “F**k. Mia”.

I love this story! There are laugh out loud moments and some pretty steamy sexy scenes as well! I am looking forward to more from Eva Gordon. What will Dominic do? What will Mia do? She can’t tell him she is in hiding. Dominic knows Mia is lying about something will she tell him? Why is his desire so strong for her?

5 Stars!

I was given this book to read in turn for an honest review!!!

Mia is relocated to a cottage in Wolf Woods near Mt. Rainer far from everyone and everything she has ever loved and cared for. She had to join the witness protection program to protect herself after her testimony against Russian Mobsters. Life returning to normal as much as it can, she meets Dominic the handsome mysterious owner of the Wolfe Estate. Dominic is not only gorgeous but he is also very alpha male, controlling and domineering. The last thing Mia needs is to be involved with a very sexy control freak.

Dominic the Alpha Wolfe is the packs’ enforcer. His senses heighten when a young but very attractive woman moves into the little cottage close to his territory. He can’t explain it but he wants her, a human pet to meet his desires.

Soon as Dominic lays eyes on Mia he is determined to uncover her true identity whilst keeping his carefully hidden. Mia is unsure if she can trust Dominic, she suspects he wants a Dominant/submissive relationship but the howls and shrieks she hears coming from his estate haunt her. But this man brings out her hidden darker desires; however will hidden danger keep them apart?

Missing her real life Mia is feeling unsure of what her life now holds, she meets the sexy domineering Dominic who hires her to work for him. She can’t explain her feelings but she knows that there is more than just a working relationship between them, however she has a secret past and she is unsure of exactly who Dominic truly is.

I loved how domineering but very caring Dominic was, not only to Mia but his pack and neighbours. Mia considering her past was a strong character too and didn’t hide away from the fact that she wanted Dominic although unsure of who he truly was. Eva Gordon did not make it easy for you to know what was going to happen, the HOT scenes and the suspense had myself hooked to the book not wanting to put it down!

If you love a paranormal romance with suspense and some HOT sexual scenes then you will love this book. I can not wait to read the second book in the series.

Review for: Alpha Wolf’s Pet (book 1) novella
This story is a novella about 130 pages. The story has well developed characters have great depth. Eva Gordon does great with getting to the point and not dragging the story out or repeating. I am looking forward to reading more from Eva as she develops the series.
Overview: Mia is in the witness protection program. She has put the Russian mob behind bars, but his team is out to get her. She has been moved several times since they keep finding her. The government has moved her to a country cottage in Wolfe Woods at the base of MT. Rainier. There are very few people in the area and the town is 20 minutes away. Her closest neighbor is Ellen, a sweet old lady who lives off her land. She makes goods for everyone.
Dominic Wolfe is the alpha of his pack. He is known as the enforcer or the “Top Dog”. He retrains bad werewolf’s or puts them down if they don’t follow the rules. All was good with Dominic until he ran into the new neighbor Mia. She was beautiful and she called to his wolf. But he is not allowed to mate to a human. He is only allowed to take them as a pet. He is willing to do just about anything in order to have Mia. But when he finds out how much trouble she is in and about her real past, he decides that he must protect her at any cost. But will she be willing to sign the contract and be willing to be his pet?
Mia and Dominic have an explosive relationship. He helps her by giving love, family, and protection. Mia helps Dominic by finding his feelings and allowing him to show the real him when the laws tell him that he can’t show weakness. Both make each other better and create a balance. Can’t wait for the next book.

My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!!
***Received the ebook for an honest review

The cover is awesome and very intriguing for those of us who love weres :)

This is an adult book with some very steamy adult scenes and even a little bondage. It is about 130 pages.

Okay the book was a great read, but I’m reserving judgment on this pet thing. Right now I’m on the fence, and I have some secret wishes that I hope happen in the next book or at some point in the series because I’m assuming this is a series (not sure though), but we will see what actually happens :) I hope when the series continues that both Dominic and Mia are part of it :)

Mia has strength of character that I adore. I love strong women who stick to their morals and won’t let anyone corrupt those morals. Dominic what to say, he is Alpha male through and through. I really don’t want Mia to just be his pet, but this is just my feelings and opinion :)

The world Eva created is definitely a unique shifter world. This is the first book I’ve read by Eva, and I’m not sure why I haven’t read her before because I think I own a few of her books. I think it is just life getting in the way. I’m definitely going to read more of her work, and really hope this is a series because I need more :) Thank you for sharing your book with me Eva :)

Alpha Wolf's Pet, Hidden is Book 1 in the Alpha Wolf' Pet Series and can be listened to as a standalone. Mia is in the Witness Protection Program and has been relocated to a cottage in Wolf Woods, near Mt. Rainier. When she meets Dominic, the mysterious owner of Wolfe Estate, her life will never be the same.

I liked that AWP, Hidden was a very creative take on the usual werewolf/human paranormal romance. The pack culture was very interesting, although some of their practices were cruel. Their attitudes and condescension toward humans, regarding them as merely "pets", definitely showed that they believed that they were the superior race. Dominic was forced to reevaluate this long-held belief regarding "pets" when he realized his obsessive attraction to the brave Mia. Their story was well written, combining romance and suspense and was a satisfying listening experience. The narration of Meghan Kelly was well done and the pacing kept me engaged throughout. I enjoyed Alpha Wolf's Pet, Hidden and look forward to the rest of the series. I would recommend this.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This review is my honest opinion.

An interesting take on werewolves and romance.

Mia may be in the witness protection program but she is far from submissive in her need to know that her gram is safe. Because of that she has to be moved into a territory where she meets Dominic Wolfe (what an appropriate name :D ).

Here is were the story takes on a new life. Yes, he's dominate and the head of his pack and so much more. He takes a liking to Mia and all I can say is WOW, this story takes a 180 on all the other paranormal romance / werewolf books that I have read so far. At times I think Dominic is sexy and appealing at other times his reference to "pet" ruffles my feathers.

So we have a romance with a secondary story that keeps the suspense and action at front. With all that the author has provided I have to say that YES, I will be continuing on with the trilogy. I need to discover what the outcome of their relationship is along with the consequences of the action taking place. A little vague you say? Heck yeah! You have to read it to see where I'm going with this.

It was a really quick read. This was a unique twist on weres.

Dominic is everything that we expect in an Alpha. He is dominating, possessive, protective an extremely sexy.

Mia is in the witness protection program and is relocated to a cabin near Dominic's home. She is human and knows nothing of weres.

Their chemistry is intense and pretty much instant.

Both have secrets and there is danger all around.

There was some steam, danger, suspense and it was rolled nicely together for an exciting read.

It is a serial though so do yourself a favor and grab the next book, Kept, at the same time.

If you like werewolves, you'll want to read this one!

I received an ecopy in exchange for my honest opinion.

I am now a huge fan of Eva Gordon. I was first introduced with Eva's writing when I volunteered to listen to her newest series on audible, Team Grey Wolf Series. I started over wanting the background with Mia and Dominic so I picked up book 1. This is an exciting suspenseful story that kept me on my toes. I also had the narrative to read along with the story. The narrator was fantastic in bringing the characters more to life. The attraction that Mia and Dominic have is electrifying and down right explosive. Dominic has the complete Alpha protection for Mia and as she learns how much her life has changed not just due to her new life in hiding, but what Dominic has in store for her, keeps you engaged to the very end.

Good story

This is the first book I've read by Ms Gordon and really enjoyed it. A very strong male and female with a good story line. She's hiding from the Russian mob and he is a werewolf enforcer trying keep his secret safe. Now he has to keep her safe from the mob and the other werewolves. Looking forward to the next installment.

A compelling listen. I don't normally like steamy, but in this case, it is necessary to the plot. Meghan Kelly doesn't always get the voices right with some of the wolves sounding too girlish, but all in all, five stars.

"Alpha Wolf's Pet, Hidden" by Eva Gordon took this reader a very long time to read due to some glitches in the way my Kindle handled it... sections were skipped in the beginning of the story leaving me with many, many, many "Huh?!?" moments. However, the book remained on my Kindle and I was finally able to read it. There were some grammar and punctuation errors - too many commas drove me a bit bonkers, I'll admit. Flashbacks to fill in pieces of protagonist Mia's life were handled fairly smoothly with decent transitions. Dialogue between various characters worked well, allowing a reader to 'hear' the different nuances that differentiate characters from one another - while moving the story forward. Overall, however, the writing didn't seem to truly 'flow' but felt forced and rushed at times - like there were gaps still missing but not quite as noticable as what the earlier mentioned glitches kept hidden.

Gordon's novella is part of a trilogy but is definately a stand alone; there wasn't a cliffhanger ending forcing a reader to wait until book two to find out if all is well. There is a bit of a happily-ever-after ending presented. Well, more like a happy-for-now ending, actually. Gordon's werewolf lineage is different, as well as werewolf culture and ideology, making her story a bit different from other offerings concerning werewolves. This reader can only recall one other recent book were a werewolf king had dominion over all werewolves, and the concept that each reigning king can change the rules and laws at his whim was interesting - yet unsettling, as well! Some felt almost 'foreign' to this reader, yet it fit the tale and kept me turning the pages. The story had a strong sensual overtone that truly worked... not quite a love story but definitely a lust story.

Characterization could benefit with more fleshing out, as both protagonist Mia and alpha Dominic were fairly one dimensional in their presentation. While Eva Gordon is a new-to-me writer, and I freely admit I enjoyed her story once those pesky Kindle related glitches were fixed, at this point, I am unsure if I will continue the trilogy or not. I will recommend this novella as a fairly sensuous read and will consider revisiting this different werewolf world again in the future.

Alpha Wolf's Pet, Hidden is a different wolf shifter book. The difference was in the relationship between wolf shifters and humans. It doesn't matter whether the wolf is an alpha, beta, etc. The wolves don't have relationships with humans, nor do they mate with them. The humans are the wolves' pets, only a sexual relationship. It's not that bad because the humans understand what they're getting into. They have to agree and sign an NDA. Also, thIs group of shifters have a king over all wolves. I read one other series that had a king over all the wolves in the United States, La Patron. This book was nothing like those. The way they held humans in low esteem was the only thing they had in common. The La Patron series soon changed once they found out that humans could breed wolves. I don't know if that would happen in this series because their beliefs are so ingrained; and, they think humans and wolves don't breed. Or, do they?

I think Mia, an extremely strong-willed woman, will have a lot to say about changing the way things work in Dominic's world. He's such an alpha, I could hardly stand him. However, the care he shows Mia changed my mind. I think he's surprised by his feelings for Mia. The characters should have been more fully developed. We know practically nothing about Dominic or why their wolf world is set up like it is. We know quite a bit about Mia but need more of her backstory. There's a couple of other characters that need more development, i.e. Mia's neighbor. This book could have easily been a better book with more character development, understanding of the wolf's hierarchy and how they came to be; and, more history on Mia. The premise was excellent but the plot was a little thin. Really all over the place.

I didn't think I would buy another book in this series because this one was short and many things were left unresolved. I'm curious about what King Connall will do when he finds out about his son, especially if he finds out a human was involved. There are other issues that are unresolved that I need to know the answers. I'll buy the next and if the issues are unresolved, I won't buy another.

I'm not sure what to make of this book. It's short, but there's a lot going on. It had a lot of promise and I'm not sure if it was my frustration with the narrator or the stilted/annoying dialogue that tanked this story for me. The narrator had a terrible habit of covering her mouth or pulling far away from the microphone when the H/h were having thoughts or internal dialogue. It was annoying and hard to hear. I was not a fan the voices she used for the male characters.

I think the book was a little too short for me. It had a lot of potential and would have been better with more detail and interaction between the main characters. I did not know what to do with them. Mia was not submissive and questioned Dominic's behavior and statements. The book really did not address how that would be negotiated by the two of them. Just when I thought it would be, a bad guy comes a long and changes the story.

Bleh. Like I said, all kinds of potential, but the story got lost along the way.

Alpha Wolfs Pet Hidden
In book 1 of 3, Mia is on the run from the Russian Mob. Witness protection has placed her in a quiet cabin in the woods. Dominic is the “Big Bad Wolf” enforcer and controls everything in his woods. When he learns that the woman, whom he is instantly drawn to is in danger, he puts himself at risk against Lycan law to protect her. Although I wasn’t to sure what I thought about the premise of “keeping a human as a pet”, I really liked this story. There are strong characters and an action packed storyline. I normally get my reading material through ARC’s or KU, so the highest compliment I can give this book is that I went and bought the next story’s to follow in the series. I give this story 5 Stars.

I received an audio copy of this book for free. I liked the plot of the main character being in Witness Protection and the werewolf protector. I did not like the "human pet" references and the dominant control aspect. The sex scenes were also over the top. There was no romance just instant attraction and jumping into bed.. Maybe if I had the ebook vs audio, I could have skimmed past them. It was a short book and skimming past those scenes would have cut the page count way down. The narrator did a great job. Her voices and pacing was good. This book was just not for me. I am interested in knowing what happens in the next two books with the hiding from the mob aspect, but, the focus is more on the steam than the story.

This story kept me listening. It is part of a trilogy so does not actually end, but it has a satisfying ending "for now". Mia has lost so much but she has not completely given up which I really liked. Dominic is a strong alpha trying to balance his wants and his musts. He is protective of Mia from the start and I enjoyed the story as they grew closer. I look forward to the rest of this trilogy.

This audiobook was given to me as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.
