Labai paviršutiniška knyga. Visų problemų sprendimai skamba taip - "tiesiog reikia kažką daryti".

Labai paviršutiniška, motyvacinio tipo knyga, bet bent jau manęs visiškai nemotyvavo 😂 O tas visur kišamas "susitvarkyk savo š..." vis labiau ėmė erzinti, nes realių, konkrečių veiksmų kaip susitvarkyti tą savo š autorė taip normaliai ir nepasiūlo 😂

Pakritikuosiu šią knygos autorę (iki rašytojos dar jai toli) -"verslininkę", kuri tikruosius verslininkus kritikuoja:
1. Knygos autorės mama, žurnalistė, šantažavo mokyklos direktorių, kad jei išmes jos dukrą iš mokyklos už jos (t.y. knygos autorės) sukeltas muštynes, parašys laikraštyje neigiamą straipsnį. Kyla klausimas: ko mus moko ši knyga? Šantažo? Brutalumo? Ar ko? P.S. šitą šantažą autorė dar vadina drąsa. Apgailėtina.
2. Autorė knygoje pastoviai š**ą mala, kad ji (ir visi sėkmingi žmonės) visą gyvenimą sunkiai dirbo... Aha, su liežuviu nebent. Gal dar ir narkotikų dileriai sunkiai dirbdami tapo turtingais.
3. Kai kiekviename puslapyje randu tą patį įgrisusį žodį "šūdas", pradedi galvoti, kad rankoje laikai ne knygą, o šūdą.

Verta paskaityti.

This book is like a cold shower, it really wakes you up.

There is not something really new related to the information provided, but the way they are presented along with the personal examples provided by made the book a great lecture. I really like the fact that the focus was on determination instead of motivation. The way I described this book to one of my friends is: is like the author is screaming at you the entire book, I really like it. :)

I listened to the audiobook and found it painful to get through and could not finish it . It's read by the author, with the slow cadence of a kindergarten teacher, increasing the speed did not help. This could just be a problem for a fellow ADHD-er.

Reading the physical book would have fixed this problem for me obviously but the content of the book was underwhelming at best.

Whats written comes across as ableist without any understanding of neurodivergency, chronic illness etc that can impede one's life. Everything wrong is painted as excuses the reader is making. I understand what she was trying to say but the way it's said is very ableist.

I didn't find any of the chapters that I managed to get through as anything we wouldn't have heard or read before. I found no value in this book and returned it to my library.

I am a neurodivergent, chronically ill woman so I think that coupled with the annoying listening experience definitely skewed my rating. If you don't have problems with these things or if you are new to self help books you may still find value in this book. I would not recommend it to anyone with similar circumstances as me.

In the book it says ‘Discipline dominates motivation’. I found this to be quite motivating. If I plan to go for a run and it is raining thereby affecting my motivation that phrase acts as a motivator to go running anyway.

I came across this book through reading about it in the Financial Times. Overall I found the book to be useful. The book contains good exercises which have had an influence on me. The exercises include listing all my excuses. There was a lot. Another was listing everything that I feel I currently need help with and identifying who I might ask for help.

The book contains a lot of good sense. It is written in a straight forward manner. All in all I think that benefitted from having read the book.

Small, practical aspects of this book were inspirational. I have written a to do list of tasks with accompanying ‘excuses’ of why NOT to do them, followed by how I can overcome these excuses. This has been handy and somewhat motivational.

Other than that, I would say the book is rife with privilege and ableism. With no consideration of the people that come from poverty or are encumbered with chronic physical and mental illness.

The title should have been a giveaway that the advice would be superficial and simplistic but I gave it a chance anyway.

Listened to an audiobook (again- Borrow Box app). I think in this case I enjoyed listening more than reading because whole book is like one big motivational pep talk. It works. It is to be honest 3 hrs of "you wanna see a change? Get up and do something about it!", but listening to it works, you wanna get up and do something. If you are walking and listening- you gonna walk faster.
I'm not sure if reading it would have same effect though.

Some good advice that you will find in other places, but a delivered in a direct way that is helpful. Inspiring in the sense of 'get on with it, you beautiful bastard' which we all need to hear.

Good book. Content is nothing you would not have heard in a bunch of other places, but it is well structured and easy to consume.

Really poor. Never learnt anything from the book. Very basic ideas that most people will already know. Started speed reading it.

Alright, a bit toxic positivity-ish. Some good points that made me want to get up and go, but it didn't really have anything that spoke to me.
