I vowed never to belong to anyone again… Some promises are meant to be broken.
At twenty-two, I've already had my share of hell—forced into marriage with an abusive man by parents who couldn't care less. But Whispering Grove is my fresh start. My own apartment. My brewery job. My life, finally.
So when my bestie Jess drags me to the town's Halloween festival, I'm trying to enjoy the pumpkin spice and haunted hayrides like a normal person. I even laugh when I think I see my ex in the house of horrors. Just my anxiety playing tricks, right?
Until he walks into the harvest dance. Very real. Very angry.
Pure panic sends me straight to the biggest, scariest Alpha in the room. "Just pretend you know me," I whisper to the glowering stranger. He growls something about why I picked him, and I'm "Because you look like no one would dare mess with you."
What I don't expect is his two equally intimidating friends appearing at our side, or the way all three men look at me—like they've found something they've been hunting for.
Now I have a keep running from my nightmare... or stand my ground with men who promise protection.
The problem is, accepting their help might save me from one Alpha's obsession—but can I protect my heart from three more?
This standalone RH Omegaverse romance weaves burning tension with a haunting edge that lingers on every page. Perfect for those who crave wicked chemistry, dark secrets, and spine-tingling twists.
I cannot stand when MCs cow down to the abusive families they have already escaped. She's been safe for 2 years but one interaction and suddenly she's letting them control her again? And her so-called badass mates just roll with it instead of telling everyone to get bent?
First, I want to say there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the book itself.
The only reason I couldn’t finish it is because I struggled with how passive the main characters were—especially Cindy. Her mom treated her terribly, and the guys didn’t really step up. They made a few attempts to say something, but since they weren’t officially together, it all ended up feeling downplayed.
Other than that, I feel like this book had so much potential!
So right now I’m curled up on the sofa feeling sorry for myself (yay flu), which means my brain power is at an all-time low. Normally when I’m sick, I stick to audiobooks because reading is a struggle but I stumbled across a post about this book and thought it sounded fun and easy… so I started it. At that point, I had no clue it was book three in the Whispering Grove series.
Thankfully, it didn’t matter. I slipped into the story effortlessly. This feels like the kind of series where you don’t have to read the previous books to enjoy this one. The introduction was fun and easy to get into without being overwhelmed by constant background dumps.
I loved how easy the writing style was. Nothing too heavy or overly descriptive exactly what my flu-fogged brain needed. There were no giant text blocks or endless flashbacks; instead, details were sprinkled in naturally as the story unfolded, letting me slowly understand the characters and their world.
I really felt for the female lead. I loved that she wanted to break away and become more than what she was born into. Maybe it’s because I’m sick and emotional, but her family made me want to hunt them down myself. They were awful heartbreaking and traumatic to watch but she does her best to stay true to herself.
The male leads aren’t perfect angels, but they’re absolutely perfect for her. They want the best for her, and their care was so well written. I felt the warm coziness and sweetness, but the book also had shocking moments, rage, pain, and tension. The banter was hilarious some lines had me laughing through my sniffles and there were tender moments that genuinely touched me.
Sick or not, I totally loved the book. My only real issue was that I wanted more growth from the FL. I wanted her to stand up for herself more, especially when it came to her family. She still bent too easily, even knowing how awful they were. A little more bite would have been perfect.
What I Liked: Cindy I loved that she fought to be more. She’s likable, sweet, and determined. Holt, Arrow, and Luke funny, different, and well-detailed backgrounds. A fun, well-thought-out storyline. Great spice. Omegaverse. Reverse Harem.
What Didn’t Work for Me: The FL’s lack of backbone with her family.
Would I Recommend This Book? Yes, absolutely.
Would I Reread? Yes!
How I’d Sum It Up: A fun, spicy, cozy story filled with heat, drama, and plenty of laughs.
We’re back in the Whispering Grove universe. We’ve got our MFC, Cindy, who has lived in Whispering Grove for two years, making a life for herself after cutting off her family after an arranged marriage gone wrong, and running from the altar before the wedding.
I loved the relationships between Cindy and all of the characters in this book. Honestly, Harper is the kind of best friend everyone needs! There were many times throughout the book when I was giggling, kicking my feet, and laughing so hard that I was crying. I’m very picky about the way books are written for them to draw me in. Harley Knight does it perfectly each time! The world-building, the community, and the relationships between the characters are just done so well!
Out of all the guys, which honestly it’s really hard to pick between them, because they’re all amazing, I think Holt was my favorite. They all give Touch-Her-And-💀 energy, but he embodies it. Arrow is amazing, a Chef alpha? Food is definitely his love language. I’m here for it. Luke is such a flirt, but he’s amazing. Definite Golden Retriever vibes. The way he stepped in for Cindy grounded her and helped her? Swoon.
I was also so here for Mack’s redemption. Whenever he saw Arrow in person and called everything off, I could tell he was trying so hard to change and grow. Whenever he came through in the end for everyone, I was like “yesss my boy!” I was waiting for that moment, and when it hit, man, it was satisfying. I felt so vindicated.
If you’re looking for a book that sucks you in from the beginning, makes you laugh so hard you cry. But also keeps you on the edge of your seat, and ready to tear your hair out, with three amazing swoony ex-criminal MMCs, this is for you! I recommend it a hundred times over. This was so good.
🌟I received an ARC to provide my honest review and opinion on this book.🌟
Tropes: Found Family Fake Dating Biker Alphas Forced Proximity Over-Protective Alphas Touch-Her-And-💀 Reverse Harem Omega In Hiding Alpha Chef Golden Retriever Alpha
Cindy (Cynthia FMC) is starting a new life in Whispering Grove escaping an abusive Ex-fiance and an uncaring family. Only for her Ex to turn up and start causing trouble for her. Holt, Luke & Arrow step up to help her throughout this book. I loved their energy together and how protective they all were towards Cindy. Even more so with her family. I enjoyed reading this book. Sweet and Steamy with characters I really liked.
This book had me captivated from the start. It has a really great storyline. Good strong characters. It has hot ex MC alpha's, an omega who has dealt with a traumatic up bringing, you see her develop into a confident omega, who deserves the ending she got. There are a good few spicy scenes, family manipulation and kidnapping, only a slight be of deserved violence. This is the second book I have read from this author, and they have a great writing style which add realistic stories into an omegaverse.
I love this series! So many great characters …….so many choices……so much drama! We get to see love overcome a LOT of issues! Cindy finally gets her HEA! Luke, Holt and Arrow are just what she needs….she just doesn’t know it yet.
I really enjoyed this book. Loved the emotionally vulnerable omega FMC who had been mistreated by her abusive ex and her family and how the three very different MMC alphas each helped heal her and teach her not only did she deserve love but she deserved to be adored. As always great characters from this author you can’t help but fall in love with them. Plenty of funny moments, I’m still giggling at the story with the eye patch, plenty of drama and of course plenty of spice too.
I actually enjoyed this book for the most part! There were a couple of parts that seemed to lull a bit and one part that I began just skimming (to be honest, it was during her heat. Others may enjoy that better than me, but at that point, I just wanted to get on with the plot, so this is likely a me thing - not a book thing).
This plot is a bit different than others I've read. Sure I've read bikers and bad boys before, but this is the first where it's bikers who have decided to turn over a new leaf. They're still them, but they're running legitimate businesses and staying clean, no longer a part of the MC life. Nothing too exciting until they meet an Omega with a cruel ex who wants nothing but to get her back in his clutches. Suddenly, all bets are off.
Cindy grew up in an "upscale, posh" family who arranged her marriage to pay off a debt. Her fiancé was cruel and could be violent. Her family were just as much. They didn't care for her or what she wanted, just what purpose she could serve them. She was able to escape to a small town for a couple of years until she was somehow found again. She approached the biggest alpha in the room that she could see at the time and asked if he'd pretend to know her. The alpha in question was hooked, he and his two pack mates began watching over her discretely until things became more complicated.
The guys are all in from the start for her. She's more reluctant, knowing how toxic her family could be and that they ruined anything they set their minds to. Plus, she was apparently raised to believe she wasn't enough, no one would truly care for her.
The best part of the book, in my opinion, is definitely the end. Getting set up for her cousins' wedding, the stuff leading after, the ending-ending, and even the epilogue. I won't give spoilers away, but let's just say that Holt in particular finally shows a part of him that made everyone else realize why he wasn't meant to be truffled with. It was fantastic.
I was originally reading this through Kindle Unlimited, but my son somehow got onto a device and purchased the book for me as I was reading it. I didn't complain since at least it was a good book! I would read this again, and now I have more reason to.
I love Whispering Grove, the town Harley built for this world is sweet, distinct, and hilarious.
Cindy and her guys left a little to be desired though to be honest. First I feel like this story could have been told with out any omegaverse attributes and might have worked better. It feels and reads much more like a why choose human romance than an omegaverse romance. Second, the FMC Cindy is hiding from her past,as many an Omega are. Thats cool, but tell me why while hiding from her horribly abusive past did she only go from Cynthia to Cindy? Thats not a changed name thats a nickname. It annoyed me through the whole novel and constantly brought me out of the narrative, especially when the FMC was crying about being found...when she didn't really change her name at all. Last but not least, the writing and characters were very immature and that was frustrating at times. The FMC was like a little kid at times and the MMCs were supposed to be tough rough biker guys who literally walked right into the most obvious trap and also had the emotional range of teenagers too.
I want to read Harper's book but am unsure if I can continue with this writing style. Also, please put the character names in the book blurbs. While reading I figured out Ruby and her guys have a book but can you tell which one it is? No, because the names aren't in the dang blurbs.
What a fun story. I loved that it was set around Halloween. Cindy is such a great character. The more of her past you hear about the more you feel for her. Luke, Arrow and Holt are absolutely perfect for her. I love how they will do anything to protect her. Can't wait to read more in this series
The plot is hard seeing mfc struggle through with doubt of her men and dealing with abusive family and past life. But if you stick with it the book is worth it. Cindy runs from her families demands and sets up a new life in whispering grove. But of course it finds her and she chooses the biggest scariest alpha in the room to protect her. The book has spice Character growth 3 males 1 female Alpha omega Some violence Bikers
Favorite quote: “I think about you,” I whisper. “Constantly. In every room. In every silence. When I touch you, it feels like the universe is holding its breath. Like I’ve been waiting a thousand lifetimes just to taste the stars on your skin.”

Fall is my favorite season. From cozy fires to pumpkin spice and apple cider, everything to warm sweaters and crisp air. I revel in it. Harley Knight has made the season even better with her fifth Whispering Grove book, Pumpkin Spice, Knotty Nights.
I liked Cindy as the MFC. She was sweet and sassy, and I loved her sense of humor. Unfortunately for her, she was born into the wrong family. Not only did they not see her worth, but they were also manipulative and controlling. Somehow, she found the courage to break free and is living life on her terms. I loved her friendship with Harper; they were ride or die. She was there for Cindy at every turn, protecting her from a bad ex situation, pushing her out of her comfort zone, and making her live a little. Harper was Cindy's support system. They laughed at inside jokes, were each other's sounding board, and so much more. They had a beautiful friendship. Cindy also has great taste in guys because Holt, Lucas, and Arrow were everything. Bad boys gone good. They have an incredible bond, more like brothers than anything. I loved their playful nature with each other. Not only did they include Cindy in their mischief, but when Cindy really needed them, they were there.
Halloween in Whispering Grove is quite the event. There were festivals with food trucks, rides, games, mazes, baked goods, and plenty of decorations, and I loved every bit of it. I had so much fun reading this. Most of the book was fun and flirty. The festival with the costumes was a great scene, but the infamous story about Holt and the ladder—that was gold. Then her family got involved. Gods, they were horrible. I was raging on Cindy's behalf. Good thing I wasn't reading this in public; between my facial expressions and the yelling, it would've been so embarrassing. Cue the fake dating trope that I love so much. I especially love it when it's real for the guys. Playful dates, meaningful conversations, and deep connections formed made it the cutest romance.
Heck, yeah! Pumpkin Spice, Knotty Nights was amazing! Those last chapters were filled with so much tension. I was on edge, wondering how it was all going to end. I mean, nothing turned out how I expected, but it was still fantastic. My only issue is that some characters did not get what they deserved. Other than that, I'm good. Whispering Grove is turning out to be one of my favorite cozy omegaverse series, and I can't wait to see what Harley does next.
This was such an amazing romance from a new to me author. I don't normally read RH or why choose bc I get jealous. But this one was so different from anything I've read before. Each male had their own personality I could clearly distinguish, they were hilarious and spit the best lines while flirting with her, and showed they were all about the FMC regardless of who was around. The FMC ran away from her abusive ex, the ex she was contracted to marry via her parents to get rid of their gambling debt...Her family pissed me off so much, especially the mother and her conniving ways- I was ready to jump into the book with fists raised lol.
But her 3 alphas save her when her ex finds her in the new town she's made home- the FMC goes up to the strongest scariest male she can find for protection (Colt) and ends up getting three protectors for life. I loved how protective they all were of her, from running those guys out of town in the most hilarious way to standing between her mother and her when her mother finds her and much more.
The alphas used to be in an MC and know how to be "about that life" it was great getting to see them go up against rich ppl who only thought they were the bomb diggity lol. Hot is an understatement for what happens in this book, I'm now pro RH/WC well if this author writes it I am lol.
I also loved the FMC's best friend Harper, she was such a good friend who literally slept outside all night to make sure the stalker ex didn't find her. She was also sooo hilarious and pushed the FMC to get with all three alphas. Some dialogue:
Luke to FMC: “I could be a gentleman and step back,” he says. “But I’m not really built for disappointment.” FMC:“That’s your line?” LUKE“Would you prefer something with pirates? I’ve been workshopping one that involves treasure maps and well-timed winks.” HARPER:“Oh, look, you’re still here,” she says to Luke. “How convenient.” “Your friend is subtle,” Luke says. “So subtle. Like a glitter cannon in a church,” Harper mutters, poking her tongue out at us. Luke smiles at Harper. “I like you,” he says, then turns his attention to me. “But I’d marry you.”
It's nonstop amazing dialogue like this throughout the book, had me cheesing so hard. Def found a fav new author. Uplifting, hilarious, and hot omegaverse romance involving 3alphas and one omega who goes into heat 🥵.
Read whatever makes you happy! Then tell me about it lol.
Ugh. First and last time trying this author. The first part of the story was cute. How Cindy met her 3 Alphas and started getting to know them. Even the ending was pretty good, a little suspense, a little fight action and super sweet conclusion. That’s it for the good stuff. Really I’m being generous with the 2⭐️, but I did really like the town, Cindy’s friends and supportive new men.
I’ll try to make this brief and not a long rant….
Cindy (and can I say how much I hated that name? It doesn’t match the character and all I could think was, has anyone used that name since the 60’s, except maybe the Brady Bunch😂).
Anyway, let try this again….
Cindy is an adult in her early 20’s that’s been living on her own, not speaking to her family in over 2 years. The way she caves to her mother and allows herself to be manipulated and spoken to AS AN ADULT THAT IS COMPLETELY SELF-RELIANT made this basically a DNF around 46%.
After that I scrolled through to see:
1. How the spicy scenes played out:
Terrible. Nothing happens till after 65% and only briefly, which for a RH? That kinda sucked. I mean I’m totally here for the spice and it was just 😴😴terrible and pretty minimal.
2. I wanted to see the mom & ex-bf get their comeuppance:
Ugh, not even close. They both (plus Cindy’s dad) BECOME SO MUCH WORSE AS THE BOOK PROGRESSES. They basically SELL Cindy off to her ex, and then try to BUY from her men. Ick. Just NO!! They were basically selling their daughter off to be a sex slave and assault victim. These people deserved TO DIE!! If not, they deserved their lives to be permanently ruined….well, none of that happened and they are just asked to leave town????? Dude, that would not stop these crazy vindictive people. At the very least, the ex needed to be shot. But nope😴😴😴😴🤬🤬🤬 No retribution or amends, letting criminal people walk free is NOT A HEA!!!
One last little thing:
Other than being called alpha/ beta/ omega, this is absolutely not an omegaverse story. That part was completely irrelevant and didn’t affect the plot in anyway. Cindy’s parents would have tried to control and sell her even if she was not an omega. The alpha knotting is hardly mentioned and adds zero hotness to the spice level. And being “scent-mates” (whatever that is….) is the same as a fated mate/ soul mate/ true love, which is not omegaverse specific….
Also this was way too long. Just save yourself time and avoid this disaster altogether.
A daring escape in a wedding gown, a disappearance with a slight name change, a cute townhouse, and a job at the brewery all make up Cindy's new life. Raised in a family where the Omega was expected to do her duty to the family and being forced into marriage, Cindy refused to live that life. So she ran. And even though she still lives in fear, looking over her shoulder, she's happy. Then her past catches up to her. When it does, she runs to the biggest, scariest Alpha in the room. He and his two friends immediately understand the assignment and step up to protect her. They make it clear afterward that they are more than interested in stepping into her life full-time. She has a decision to make: run again or stand her ground? Live alone or take the offer of three beautiful, dangerous men?
This was so close to being a 4-star with a few tweaks. I feel like the author didn't fully commit. Three former MC members; they walked too far on the legal side when their Omega was threatened. I feel there would have been some violence, or maybe I feel there should have been. I understand going legit, but I also believe in protecting the family. They were supposed to be so tough, but it never manifested. I hated capitulating to Cindy's mother. Forget the warehouse; there should never have been a wedding at their house. This was ridiculous. They all allowed one high-society witch to bully them. Say no, send her on her way, and live your best lives. I would have loved for Cindy to develop more of a backbone, overcome her trauma, and make her story hers. Instead, she crumpled as soon as her mother appeared. On a personal note, I hate her name. Cynthia is a perfect Omega name for a pretentious family. Perfect. Shorten it to Cyn when you rebel and run, not Cindy. Cindy is for a meek little girl. Personal rant over.
This is my first book review. I just thought it was high time for me to start reviewing the books I read! The reason why this book is rated low and at a DNF is because I strongly sense it was written partially using AI. I think using AI is an amazing tool for setting up timelines in a book and plot ideas, character ideas, as well as questions regarding topics you may not know but want to include into a book. However, I dislike seeing actual AI writing into books. A few examples:
- “everything is seasonal, house-made, and morally questionable” This is a quote taken from Arrow. In the particular context he is describing food that he is serving but the food being morally questionable?
- “Would you prefer something with pirates? I’ve been workshopping one that involves treasure maps and well-timed winks.” When Luke is flirting with Cindy.
I mention these two because if you go to chat gpt for example and ask it to write flirty/witty banter between two characters it looks exactly like these lines.
I do believe most of this book is written by the author and edited as well as thought out in their part but it seems mostly common when a character is flirting or back and forth banter.
I like the plot and idea but I also feel like Cindy isn’t a well thought out character and her personality kind of changes and isn’t solid either? Almost loose… I had high hopes but AI kind of gives me the ick. :(
I just see a lot of authors using AI in their stories. It’s kind of sad to see.
Cindy's story was definitely a great standalone read! It does reference emotional and physical abuse by the parents and ex-fiance so be prepared for those triggers if you do pick this up. I really enjoyed this because away from the abuse, it was the slow patience of the alphas seducing Cindy and respecting her pace within the relationship knowing her situation. The spicy scenes were worth the build up, each of the men getting a chance to develop a relationship with her instead of rushing it at the start. There were a lot of sweet moments, the plot was wrapped up and kept me interested and I ended up reading it mostly in one sitting! Can easily recommend this as a standalone omegaverse read if you are after a small town, autumn/halloween romance!
Out of the three love interests, I enjoyed the playful nature of Luke and his willingness to go the extra mile in regards to Cindy's safety. His moments with Holt did make me laugh! Holt is definitely described as the more intimidating one at first glance but he is hiding a sweet side reserved for Cindy and loved their tension during the beginning. Finally we have the excellent chef whose food helped seduce Cindy, Arrow. He is all about taking care of his loved ones through food and other means and is very protective of her. I really enjoyed their dynamic as a pack and their trauma is very similar to that of Cindy's so that helped their bond and explains their protective nature overall.
Pumpkin Spice, Knotty Nights: A Cozy Omegaverse Romance (Whispering Grove Book 3) by Harley Knight is a phenomenal small town romance. Cindy is an omega living in a small town after escaping her abusive ex Van and her controlling family. When her ex shows up she find the largest alpha with dont f#ck with me vibes to pretend to be her boyfriend and deter her ex. However, Van isn't one to take no for an answer. When her family shows up she has to ask Holt and his pack for one more favor. However after discovering Cindy is their scent match they are willing to do whatever it takes to protect her and make her theirs. Can they get Cindy on board that this is more than a job and turn a fake relationship into a real one? I absolutely loved this story! It's fast paced with plenty of action and suspense. Cindy's plight is relatable for anyone that's ever been a victim of abuse and I loved her strength. I'm always a sucker for bad boys but a partially reformed bad boy is just as good…who doesn’t dream of a man(men) that will do anything to protect their family. Holt, Arrow, and Luke are definitely capable and willing! This story definitely left me in suspense. If you enjoy omegaverses with themes of fake dating, forced proximity, runaway FMC, MC, protective alphas, independent omega, found family, spice, why choose, heats with kn@ts and sl!ck, scent matches, and bonding then this read is an absolute must and a perfect seasonal read for Halloween!
Halloween is creeping around the corner, so of course I had to dive into Pumpkin Spice, Knotty Nights by Harley Knight. This was a quick, spicy read about Cindy, an omega just trying to live a peaceful life—until her ex and his deranged family crawl back out of the woodwork. They’re determined to finish the deal they couldn’t two years ago… but thankfully, Holt, Luke, and Arrow step in as her saviors—and fake boyfriends—to convince everyone that what they have is real. The only problem? Now they have to convince Cindy that it is real.
Whew! I devoured this book like I was starved. The story is fast-paced and yes, a bit predictable—but that’s part of the fun. It’s a cozy small-town romance with a touch of chaos, and I loved the camaraderie between the men, both when they’re together and in their individual moments with Cindy.
Cindy’s anxiety and hesitation felt authentic, and I loved how she slowly embraced the situation. The corn maze scene with Holt was hot, and the kitchen christening with Luke? Perfection. My only wish is that Arrow had gotten his own sweet moment with Cindy—maybe a cooking scene or something intimate like that would’ve balanced things out. Still, the chemistry between all of them absolutely sizzled.
I started this late at night and couldn’t put it down, picking it right back up first thing in the morning. Harley Knight is quickly becoming one of my go-to authors for quick, steamy, feel-good reads.
Cindy was a runaway bride, fleeing from a forced marriage and the hell that awaited her. She started over in a picturesque little town and loves the life she built for herself. Celebrating with her friend at the harvest dance, Cindy spots the angry Alpha she ran from and panic drives her to seek help from the biggest Alpha in the room. She doesn't expect him and his two packmates to be scent matches, nor to be so wonderfully sweet and protective. Her past keeps haunting her, and her mother brings more trouble into her life, yet now Cindy has three men willing to stand with her... If she can learn to trust them, and more importantly, trust her own instincts.
This is a wonderful Halloween reverse harem Omegaverse contemporary romance in the cozy Whispering Grove series. I already know I love the town. It's so cute and it embraces all holidays fiercely. Halloween is no exception. Cindy is a brewer and loves what she does, but her past looms over her and has her looking over her shoulder all the time. I immediately was sympathetic and was rooting for her when she met the three smoking hot former biker Alphas. Arrow, Holt, and Luke. Yum! I'm also a huge fan of Cindy's bestie, Harper. She was hilarious! As much as I loved those characters, oh how I hated Cindy's mother. Yes, I hated her ex, Van, but I loathed her mother. One of the best antagonists in this series.
This story grabbed me right from the start and I literally read it in one day. Cindy run from a contract marriage to an abusive person to start a new life. Two years later as she and her girlfriend Harper are enjoying a pre-Halloween hunted house she runs into her ex in trying to get away she asks the biggest toughest looking man to pretend to be her boyfriend. Holt, agrees and unknow to her his two pack mates Arrow and Luck are onboard as well. It soon becomes apparent the four of them are meant to be together. Although, as all of them have had trauma in the youths that effected decisions they made. Cindy is having difficulty believing she can be loved and is hesitated to accept that Holt, Luck, and Arrow love her. and they want her Their flirting, joking and description of Halloween costumes had me in stitches, the interactions between them will leave you laughing. How they encouraged her ex to leave town. Oh, I love the megaphone; not telling you will have to read the book, but if you have a sense of humor you will be laughing so hard. So many hilarious incidents. If you appreciate cats, you will appreciate the main coon in the story. However, as in all great stories there is the evil wicked person, the fly in the ointment. Read this wonderful story you won’t be sorry just right for Halloween, Hot apple cider, and a comfy chair.
She was on the run but more so hiding from her family who only saw her as a piece of property they could sell off to cover debts.
But she has found her own slice of happiness hidden away from them. But that’s also where she meets her three amazing Alphas who stepped in to help protect her.
But then this turns into helping her get her mother off her back & away from her cozy town. And that then turns into feelings developing when scent matches are discovered.
The three Alphas really go all out to prove to and show Cindy that she deserves all of the happiness in the world & they want to be the ones to give that to her.
They inevitably have to deal with her mother then her previous fiancé who won’t take no for an answer. But through it all, these three show her over and over again that they can be relied on & trusted. I was so happy she was able to get that because I really wished bad things for her mother & ex-fiancé.
This book had me hooked in from the very beginning & I loved all of the spicy moments she shared with each guy. They all blended so well together & I was too happy that they got the happiness they all deserved.
I was hooked within the first 2 chapters. As someone who ran from abuse myself, I related from the first page. I know how easy it is (and how infuriating) to fall back into old habits of doing what’s expected of you, and what others want, out of survival. I was cheering Cindy on out of the gate, and seeing it all go down, and how it went down, was terrifying and satisfying all at the same time. I loved how supportive the men were, while also making sure they weren’t controlling her or taking away her independence. From the very first meeting, they made sure not to spook her or make her feel like she needed to escape or run. And they were consistent in their decision to make her feel safe in the town she chose to make her home. Even when she wasn’t looking. With their history, the guys could have done whatever they wanted, and nobody would have stopped them. They chose to make Cindy, and her safety and comfort, their priority. They worked around her and what she had going on, even when it made things harder for them, without her ever asking. They chose her as a person, instead of an object, or something to be owned. I would love to see more down the line with these characters, as I loved this story and was disappointed to see it end.
Honestly? If the heroine didn’t have that razor-sharp wit and perfect sense of humor, this would've been a solid 3 stars. But she made the whole thing pop.
This book starts with her trying to rebuild her life after the kind of past that would break most people—abusive ex, trash parents, zero support. Whispering Grove is her clean slate… until her nightmare shows up at the Halloween festival like he crawled out of the crypt to ruin her night.
His arrival? Terrifying. Her reaction? Iconic. She bolts straight to the biggest, scariest Alpha in sight and basically says, “Hi, pretend you know me before I die of stress.” I LIVED for that moment.
Then his two massive friends appear, all three staring at her like she’s their next religion, and suddenly this book becomes a delicious Omegaverse RH fantasy with danger, chemistry, and growly protection.
The plot was good, the tension was fun, but she… SHE is the reason this hit 4 stars. Smart, funny, quick with the comebacks—she carried it with personality alone.
A spooky, spicy, protective-Alpha-loaded read that hits even better if you love heroines who cope with fear using humor.
