How It Ends: Part 4 - The Choice
”How It Ends Part 3 – The Choice” concludes the epic tale of Sidney, Eric, Brian, Anita, and of course, Gammons.
Brian is gone and Anita is left to pick up the pieces of her life. Sidney knows exactly what happened to Brian, and he is horrified beyond words at what he saw. Together, he and Anita develop a plan to get all teh answers they seek.
Eric, meanwhile, is pleased beyond measure at how well Gammons's transformation has gone. Gammons has transcended all of Eric's expectations, and the ruthless executive his practically counting the money over the results of his side project.
And what of the robot Gammons? Now that his transformation is complete, he can be everything Anita needs and more. But will she accept him for who he has become? Or will she spurn his advances? And what measures is he willing to take if her answer is "no"?
This is part four of the serial novel "How It Ends", the story of Anita, a young graduate student; Brian, the smarmy college professor whom Anita is dating; Sidney, a professorial colleague of Brian’s who reluctantly takes Anita on as a research assistant; Kilgore, a robotic doctor who provides the human characters fascinating insights as to how the “mind” of a robot really works; Eric, a cut-throat executive in the nation’s largest robotics firm who is not above getting his hands dirty to get what he wants; and Gammons, Eric's robot assistant who has a special circuit for feeling emotion like a human.
To immerse yourself in the lives of these characters is to be swept into the increasing speed of the story until, at last, their lives collide in a global apocalypse and you find out “How It Ends”.

An interesting sci-fi book by an indie author. Any sci-fi book which has a character reference Beowulf gets points from me! An intriguing meditation on what makes us human.
