God, he loved her.
No, love was such a small word for what he felt for her.
She fucking owned him.
Body, heart and soul.

"It’s not a matter of whether or not I love you. Love is just a fucking word. If that’s how you want me to describe how I feel for you, then fine. If loving you means that I can keep you, then I do. I love you. But it’s more than that, Eve. You fucking own me in a way no one else ever has. I need you in my life. I need you to feel...human again.
You’re it for me, too. What I was trying to say is that I don’t know if I’m capable of loving you the way you deserve because of who I am and what I’ve done. You say you love me, that you can love the man that I am, and I’m a big enough bastard to hold you to your word, because I’m not letting you go.”"

“I see it. I can see the love in your eyes when you look at me. Love me the way I deserve? Dare, you show me you love me just how I need every time you touch me.”

“Don’t let me fuck this up,” he demanded gruffly as he gripped her head in his hands.

There's so much more to the story on so many different levels but i won't go there now (i'll urge you to read it)but the bottom line of it all is this:
“I think you should marry me.”
Evie froze, then blinked at him. “What?”
“I made it clear I wasn’t going to let you go, so you might as well just marry me.”

“I know this isn’t exactly candles and roses. I had a plan...I was going to wait until I got you a ring and found the perfect setting to ask, but all of that is just bullshit. You know I never say the perfect thing. Hell, you know I’m not a perfect man. But I am the perfect man for you, and I promise you, no one will ever love you more than I do. I don’t want to wait. I love you, Eve. Marry me. What do you say?”

She wrapped her arms around his neck and said, “I think I can handle that.”

And now that I've literally masacred this book by pinning down all the lines that (for me) hold all of this together, as a superglue to make a point, I have no more to give...

I'm going to sleep now, content and happy.

I've had my HEA.

I've been waiting so long for another book in this series and Laurie Roma did not disappoint! I can't wait to see what else she has coming for us. ;)

About This Book:

This story is about Daryk "Dare" Nyght and Evie Beaumont. Dare is a trauma surgeon in the Army and has seen/done some things that he needs peace from. Evie also has a haunted past and deals with it by putting her body and soul into her rescue center for abused dogs. They come together when Dare ends up at her boarding house that many vets go to in search of some peace and quiet. Dare thinks he's too fucked up for any kind of relationship but he can't help the way Evie makes him feel, and soon finds himself in "operation seduce Evie."

My Thoughts:

- I loved this from the start to the end! Dare & Evie's relationship didn't really take off until 30% but after that it was amazing. I seriously could not put my Kindle down!

- Dare was such an alpha! At first he tries to ignore the connection between them, but even he wasn't strong enough for that. I love that he came to his senses early on and went after Evie instead of pushing her away.

"For some reason he enjoyed being around her. Simply being in her presence seemed to settle some of the sharp edges inside of him."

- I also loved Evie. She had such a good heart! Always wanting to help those around her. And what she is doing for those poor dogs is seriously commendable. If you're an animal lover, you will definitely love her! And I liked that she didn't take no shit from anyone, including Dare.

"As far as he could tell, both he and Evie were controlling personality types. It was going to be so much fun to see who came out on top."

- My favorite thing about Hammer's Fall was that it was so hawt! Jared had some serious skills and at first I thought Dare wouldn't be able to top him because their relationship was progressing pretty slowly compared to book one, but boy was I wrong! Laurie Roma knows how to write some good smut and I don't know why I ever doubted her. These Breakers boys are so dirty in bed and I love it!

"Open up your mouth, princess. Open for me and suck it. I have to feel that pretty little mouth on me."

description

- Another thing I love about this series is that there is no big manufactured breakup at the end (so far). The couple breaking up at the ending is just so cliche and predictable that when I read a book that doesn't have that it ends up making a bigger impression on me, and most likely ends up becoming one of my favs. Here's to hoping Laurie Roma continues this trend for the rest of the series!

Overall, I am loving this series and can't wait until the next addition! I think I'm most excited for Nikita and Hunter and seeing who they each end up with. I always love kickass heroines and the scarred, lonely heros.

I'm glad I made it back to this series. Dr. Daryk Knight was the kind of hero that draws me in. He's a little broken yet full of the fiercest loyalty and he's absolutely possessive and protective to all he cares about. Eve had her hands full with this amazing guy. I loved the rescue center details. Love any book where animals are portrayed. I really love how this author weaves so much friendship and family into her stories.

Enjoyable read but I didn't love it as much as Hammer's story. But I do love the author's writing style, the sex scenes are scorching, and the woman sure does know how to write sexy alpha males. I look forward to reading the third book in the series, which will feature Dante and Zoe's story.

I've liked this serie. Its so sweet and you can't help but love these people. Eve and Dare are cute together. One of my fav character was Shane I was so angry for what happened to that boy in the first book and I am really glad we can see how he's doing in this book.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

It seems like I waited a long time for the second book in Laurie Roma’s The Breakers’ Bad Boys series. I absolutely loved the first book, Hammer’s Fall, so expectations were high. Fortunately for me, Ms. Roma delivered another fantastic book about a tortured soul and the woman who helps rescue him.

Daryk (Dare) Nyght was a trauma surgeon and a soldier. But after seeing and experiencing some horrific events during combat, he was burnt out and barely holding on. He comes to the small town of Breakers to visit his friend and try to regroup. He is hoping for some peace from his torment but is given so much more when he meets Evie Beaumont, his friend’s cousin. Evie runs a boarding house for recovering vets as well as an animal rescue sanctuary. She has poured her heart and soul into the sanctuary and doesn’t believe that she will ever meet a man who can accept her passion. Then Dare shows up and the sparks begin flying immediately. But relationships are always hard work and these two have a few problems that they need to work through if they are going to create something everlasting.

My favorite part of this story was the characters. Both Eve and Dare were multi-level fascinating people who kept my interest throughout the story. Eve was so thoughtful and caring. She has dedicated her life to helping others which won over my heart. Dare had gone through so much as a soldier and his battle with PTSD just about broke my heart. I so wanted him to find some peace in his soul and when it became apparent that Eve was the key to finding that peace, I couldn’t wait for both of them to realize they were meant to be together. Each one was a remarkable person on their own, but together they would become a force to be reckoned with.

Ms. Roma created a realistic story that brought forth so many emotions for me. I loved the give and take between Eve and Dare because it lent such authenticity to their relationship. They made mistakes but learned from them just like we all do making them more human than fictional. Their personalities were further enhanced by the relationships they had with friends and family which just added more layers to these already wonderful characters.

There is a lot of drama in this book but I didn’t find it over the top. It all made sense based upon who Eve and Dare are and what they do. Ms. Roma was so good at ratcheting up the drama and then bringing the reader back down. I found myself getting teary eyed several times throughout the book. I always appreciate it when an author is able to pull laughter and even tears from me because it means that the author has been able to cross that invisible fourth wall and completely pull me into their imaginary world.

There are so many secondary characters which live in the Breakers that Ms. Roma has plenty of options for future stories. I can’t wait to see whose story is next because I have no doubt that any addition to this series will be a great one.

I have absolutely loved reading Laurie Roma's series The Breakers' Bad Boys, they have been absolutely amazing from the story and plot to the emotions and of course the really hot sex! The characters in this book did not disappoint me at all, and I connected with them right from the start.

Daryk Nyght was one hot, yummy man, troubled and broken but still fixable and he was so worth fixing. He was broody and dark, and had survived the unthinkable when away on his last mission. His emotions are in turmoil and he seems ready to just give in. Evie is a very confident and beautiful caring woman, she has made it her life passion to help people, she also has a soft spot for animals especially dogs. She is the perfect person to rescue Daryk from himself and show him what real love is. The chemistry between the two main characters is phenomenal and heated, sparks fly in and out of the bedroom. I loved watching them work through their differences, they were both stubborn but both had an abundance of passion.

I loved how the author kept all of the characters from the first book involved in the story and you got to know them a little better all of the time while reading about Daryk and Evie's story. I loved the way that Shane connected with Daryk as well. It could not have been written any better, there was every emotion imaginable in this book and then some.

I would absolutely recommend this book! It was fantastic and I read it in a day, so good in fact that I did not put it down. I can't wait for the next book in the The Breakers' Bad Boys series and I am looking forward to see what happens next in the lives of all of these people who's lives I now feel a part of! Keep them coming Ms. Roma!

I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 out of 5 Stars

Breakers is a town to fall in love with and in. The people are the best of small towns. People who circle the wagons around those who have been hurt and need support. Nyght's Eve was a story of healing and love. Almost all the major players needed support and healing - even the dogs.

Daryk Nyght, Dare to his friends, is a trauma surgeon forced to act against his beliefs and it has him burnt out. Taking some time to heal, he visits his old friend Hammer (Hammer's Fall) in Breakers. Here he meets Evie Beaumont, cousin to his friends and rescuer of dogs. Evie has some dark spots in her past that she is still haunted by. Together Dare and Evie, heal each other and bring safety to some of the more vulnerable elements of the town.

After reading Nyght's Eve, I can't wait for the next book. I'm hoping to hear more about whether or not Dante got the girl. There are so many lovable characters in Breakers, and I can't wait to find out their stories and revisit old friends.

Recommendation: Grab a glass of lemonade, put your feet up on the porch swing and plan to relax for an hour or two, Nyght's Eve is a wonderful way to spend a little "me" time with a book that is impossible to put down.

Nyght's Eve is the second book in Ms. Laurie Roma's incredibly hot The Breakers' Bad Boys series.

Daryk “Dare” Nyght is a man on the edge. As a trauma surgeon in the Army, he has seen his share of combat, but his high-risk lifestyle has left him burnt out and in desperate need of some peace. Dare heads to the small town of Breakers to get some rest and spend some time with a few ex military friends. He reconnects with business partner and friend Hammer, the hero from book one in the series Hammer's Fall. What he finds there is more than he ever expected. Our heroine, Evelyn Beaumont is a woman who seems to have it all. Evie has grace, beauty and wealth, but she hides from painful memories of the past by burying herself in her work at the rescue center she runs. When these two lost souls come together in a clash of wills, the sparks between them are undeniable. Will passion be enough or can they find a way to open their hearts for a chance at true love?

I loved this book as much as the first. great story, very likable characters, I highly recommend this hot sizzling romance read. If I have one wish it is that Ms. Roma continues writing the additional novels necessary so that we will find out the happy endings of all the additional characters we have come to love in her Breakers' Bad Boys series.

Nyght’s Eve by Laurie Roma is really well written. There is an intensity to the characters that kept me turning the pages. Dare is a man who has a wounded soul but retains that heart of gold quality. He needs a home and family some roots. He just doesn’t know how he can get that right now. He feels a little broken when we first meet him.
Evie seems like a woman who has it all together. But she really doesn’t. She needs some roots of her very own. Someone to call her own. Besides the animals she rescues.
Together these two have the missing pieces the other needs. They just have to open up and see that. I liked the friendship that builds up in this book. For me it made the connection feel more realistic. There is plenty of hot sex to keep me interested but the emotional journey is what kept me turning the pages. I love the build up to the act. I hope there are many more books in this series I know I will be in line to get them all.

Daryk Nyght is a surly broken man. Finally out of the military he returns to Breakers Texas to get back to something resembling life. A good friend and army buddy to Hammer, Nyght(Dare) moves into The Beaumont boarding house for a little r&r. He meets Evie/Eve the owner and Hammer's cousin. A tough beauty-she is a busy bee working at the rescue clinic with abandoned/abused animals-her 4 dogs adorable. Dare is not very subtle, hanging around the clinic to spend more time with Eve. He never manages to say the right things, constantly infuriating her- their arguments are hilarious. Once they hook up its hottt. They have a lot of smexy time, really can't get enough of each other. Dare makes the decision to keep Eve and plants roots in Breakers. Love the relationship he builds with Shane and Hero. I see the potential for such great stories in this world-Nikita,Hunter, Dante to name a few, can't wait.

I was given this book for an honest review. But like with most of the books I review If I like them I purchase them anyway. With this book it was a joy to read. The Breaker Bad Boys are just what you want to spend your evening with - Even if it is only reading about them.
Even though I loved Hammer, Nyght stole my heart. This book has everything you could want in a story. Passion - Laughter - Love - Hope - Pain - Tragedy - Ok lets not forget the "HOLY HECK" Hotness that is Nyght. I am really hoping that Dante's story is next. Once again Ms. Roma creates a story that pulls you in and makes you smile.

Nyght's Eve (The Breakers' Bad Boys Book 2) (Kindle Edition)

Loved this 2nd book in the series. Dare and Eve are a great couple and their story has all the emotions that you could want. I really liked how Ms. Roma gave reference to some characters from her IAD series (which was wonderful and I can't wait for more books from that series). I always enjoy reading Laurie's books. She does not let you down and pens some great stories.

Great story. Eve and Dare were strong, likeable characters. I enjoyed the book far more than I expected since I tend toward paranormal and sci-fi books. I read the book in one sitting since it captured my imagination and took me along for the ride.

I read this book since I loved Ms Roma's books from the Arcadian Series and then discovered the 3013 series. I am looking forward to Dante's Angel as well as books from the other series' too.
