Resurrectionist #1

The Resurrectionist

Rate this book
William Stark is not the hero type, at least not in his eyes. Awkward and anxious, mental illness and a confused faith keep him from loving the girl of his dreams, and himself. A lack of self-esteem takes him to the depths of hell (literally) to fight an intimate battle between fear and faith.

Will wants nothing more than to feel normal, but when you're from a town nicknamed, The Devil’s Rendition of Sedona Arizona, it's not meant to be. Famous for attracting fire and brimstone preachers, occult psychics, and the fringes of society, Millersville is hiding a history that’s anything but traditional.

With the guidance of a deeply spiritual school psychologist who may be keeping secrets of his own, Will learns to balance his mental health symptoms and work towards normalcy, which is about to be short lived.

A team of paranormal investigators have their eyes on the reluctant Will and his unique abilities. What isn't clear is their deeper purpose for him. Aided with technology developed by the group, Gateway, a Resurrectionist crosses into a world of lost spirits and guides them to the light. William's calling, his purpose, is laid before him. He must fight to conquer his demons or risk becoming one of them, falling into darkness for all eternity.

The resurrectionist is such an interesting book, and I cannot wait to read more from this author. The main character had so much happened in his life. He developed so much in the book. I will admit it did scare me and kept me at the edge of my seat. He was meant to save people from horrible fates. If people want to read a book that can scare them, and want more. Well done to the author!

An unlikely hero, consumed in his own fears, fights an ongoing battle that takes him to the pit of hell. He faces a nearly insurmountable choice—to conquer his own fears or lose to the dark side for eternity. During the battle, guides help him discover that love is stronger than his fears.

As a Resurrectionist, the protagonist rescues lost souls from the bowels of hell, and guides them to the light. The author, Michael J. Gesellchen is knowledgable in scripture, spirituality, the occult, telepathy, and telekinesis, which makes his book a fascinating read. The book is fast-paced and action-packed with battles between good, evil, and in-between.

The vivid description of slaves, masters, lost souls, and grisly pit of hell made this book a read I couldn’t put down. Highly recommend.

Interesting book, well thought out and well written. Several editing errors that are distracting and disappointing. Not my kind of book though. I made sure I finished it in case there was some big twist at the end. Also, a little too much preaching for me. I probably will skip the rest of the series.

Good book

I started reading this book because the title lured me in. I am a born again Christian and I'm interested in other people's take on religion. This drew me in and I was hooked. It has a great cast of characters and a great storyline. It may not be the right way but his take on faith and love hit the nail on, the head. I recommend reading to all that love fiction.
