Michael J. Allen is a USA Today bestselling author of multi-layer science fiction and fantasy novels. Born in Oregon and an avid storm fan, he lives in far too hot & humid rural Georgia with his two black Labradors: Myth and Magesty. On those rare occasions he tears himself away from reading, writing and conventions he can be found enjoying bad scifi movies, playing D&D or the occasional video game, getting hit with sticks in the SCA or hanging out with the crew of Starfleet International’s U.S.S. DaVinci. To learn more about Michael, check out his website at www.deliriousscribbles.com
I have to admit that I am not much of a book/story reader. I am slow and at time really have a hard time understanding what I am reading especially with in the future type stories which is what this is. I was with it at first then the story changed on me. Went from an IRS audit to in the future alien stuff. I was captivated and though I knew where the story was going then nearer the end I started to have the feeling it was going somewhere else. Which I was right and that was ok, put an interesting twist to the story as it ended. As any book/story goes you have to read it yourself not just take a review at face value. So having said that I recommend you read this and see for yourself if you like it or not. Purchase can be made at the following link http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B087... #DeliriousScribbles
Ok it’s like this it’s got war it’s got Merc’s and it’s got a crime mystery. So what else can you as for except to maybe make it longer. It’s a great short story that will keep you going until the end. But again it’s still just a short story that I read in a hour. But I’m not saying that having a book you finish in a hour is bad because it’s to me a great doctor appointment book especially right now. So I love the story line I love the length because it kept me from being bored at my doctors appointment and I know I will be rereading it again probably next week because I’m out of new books to reread so I’m going to reread a few of my favorite books by Michael Allen again because you know he’s good when your willing to reread his books over and over again.
I really enjoyed this book. This was a great science fiction tale with the title character seeking to do an audit of a mercenary group. It was an exciting read which quickly with exciting action sequences. This book satisfactorily fills the thrills factor and is a well-written book. You want to see what happens next. You will ask, "How will he get out of this situation?" I really loved the tale and look forward to reading more from Michael J. Allen. He grabs you at the get go and doesn't stop until the end of the story.
I typically enjoy sci-fi futuristic type stories and plots, but this one started off with too much information and never explained enough. I read the entire thing, even though a few pages into it - I had no clue what was really going on and wanted to give up. Towards the end I just ignored the details that hadn't been explained, and just kinda ...went with it. At the end, I was itching for more story...more pages! Sadly this only gets 3/5 stars because it built up too much and then ended right as the story got good.
The author should be producing movies and not just writing books. He is so fluent in greatness it is incredibly amazing! Some people just have it and others wish they had it, this guy, HAS it. The talent, the words, the flow, the captivating tone, the structure, the whole nine yards and town surrounding the field. Keep em coming, I'll be there to read them.
This book was fantastic reading it had me fully intoxicated with the unique and fascinating story. This is the kind of book where I feel the author has taken a lot of time into constructing each and every detail about character and story in their own unique and dynamic way. I highly recommend everyone that is interested in the genre to pick up this book and give it a read.
Great story! I love the imagination and portrayal of a future with high fantasy. Michael does a good job of giving enough detail of the setting to make you feel immersed without overselling it. It was a fun read, and like always, Michael's twists are excellently timed and executed.
Unfortunately this book just wasn't for me. I am a fan of this author now, but this just didn't hit the spot for me. A little disappointed. Book was too all over the place. I may re read and try again. #DeliriousScribbles
gottta love the cover of the book tbh little sad thst its just a short story though - i wish it was much longer!!!!!!! crime/mystry books are one of my favorite generes and i will never turn down a book likr this!!
The Bottom Line was another thrilling short read by Michael J. Allen that kept me engaged throughout the entire book until I was finished. I would read it again once I'm less familiar with it. I would recommend. I received a copy in exchange for my honest review.
