This is a book that provides the reader with an opportunity to experience a direct perception of what is commonly referred to as enlightenment, particularly in the Zen tradition. Further this book provides elaboration on the concept of enlightenment and answers some of the common questions about this experience.
Even though the title seems like a 'run of the mill' self help book, it is not. 'Discovering the obvious' is the apt summary of what this book is all about. The book also explains why most of us don't discover it even though it is obvious. The enlightenment that is mentioned here is the simple and direct perception which is conscious awareness itself. This is a short and succinct book about awareness that is apt for someone who is already familiar with this subject matter.
Excellent brief to the point description of the experience of awakening and tips for living it!
After reading many, many books on the subject of enlightenment I did not expect to enjoy this “recap” but I found myself over and over thinking “I couldn’t have said that better myself. I was also pleased to see that the author is a fan of Douglas Harding. Highly recommended!
Well worth your time to read this - if you are serious about Self-Realization. I have had a number of glimpses whilst reading this. Just one was worth it, but i had a number.
Very clearly written book on enlightenment. The author demystifies enlightenment, making it accessible to anyone. Highly recommend to anyone interested in discovering their true nature.
