Okay, 2-stars might sound harsh, but for me this book was just "okay", so 2-stars it is. With 170 reviews and an average rating of 4.4 stars on Amazon, and 66 ratings with an average of 4.12 stars here on Goodreads, I was just expecting MORE. I wanted to feel the love everyone else felt. I wanted to be touched, say WOW, think it was awesome, feel it was powerful, etc, but it just didn't do any of that for me. The writing was fine, but being a short story, it just didn't draw me in or make me at all emotionally attached to the main character before the ending. And the ending itself just made me think "yeah, okay, whatever".
Maybe I just wasn't in the right mood for this book. I'm sure there are others who do love it. So feel free to ignore my 2-stars. The book was free on Amazon for kindle for me, and may still be, so others can decide for themselves to see what they think.

Such a short book but what an amazing lesson it contains. So, much of our lives we spend finding ourselves caught up in the craziness of our day to day living that we truly don't hear the Lord's whispers. The story in this book truly is a testimony that the Lord can come to us in our dreams and if we are open and receptive to it we can hear and learn "when God whispers loudly".

Wow! That just about says it all. This little short story grab hold of me and would not let go. The story has so much meaning and deep thoughts. It hit too close to home.
I highly recommend this book to all. Especially hard working people who think their jobs and careers are everything.

This was a very quick to the point read; I liked that. It had gotten me to thinking and ask myself, " Ebony, do you really listen to God when He's talking?" I had to painful admit "No. Not all the time." This short story is a great way to get Christians to stop and listen. To know through everything there is a lesson He wants us to learn which He gives the answers to. The part that still sits with me is when he writes, "...how loudly must I whisper for you to hear Me?" I like it because it makes me wonder had I not been to busy with my life, maybe I wouldn't have made so many bad choices had I only listened. all and all its a great read.
4.0 stars for a lesson has been learned.

This book is something that just pulled me in. Chris Hibbard really exceeded my standards I was very happy with choosing this author for the first time! The story is so touching, and will make you feel bad for the narrator, and his family. The book itself short, sweet, and to the point! Why, even the title says it all! I would love to see more books by Chris Hibbard, and hopefully he'll write more! He has a great talent for writing!

This is a very short inspirational story. It reminded me of some of Mitch Albom's writing, but with more overt religious tones. I enjoyed its worthwhile message of what is important in life and what is not.

This book is a quick read with a deep message. Chris Hibbard has created a beautiful scene of God's love, forgiveness, and persistence towards His children, while showing us that God wants to be deeply involved in our lives. If only we take the time to listen when He whispers to us.

It's really true that when you think your life is over is when you clearly see all the things that you should have done that you didn't. That's make you need or want more time to fix or arrange the things should be.

This was a short story that reminded me that I needed to be thankful for each day. It was fast to read and I enjoyed reading the story.

This is a great little book that makes you stop and listen to God. God is sending you messages every day and if you don't listen for them you will miss them.

Excellent Read!
Very inspiring story showing God's love for us. He wants us to understand that He is there for us no matter what; we just need to be patient and listen.

I came into this thinking I was going to be told some truths on how to be still and listen as God ministers. Boy, was I wrong! This was a cleverly told short story about an angry, bitter, jealous, Christian man who lost his way and was given a second chance to do things differently and in God's right way.
Through his dreamlike status, God whispered to him and showed him what really matters in this life. He needed to be Grateful for the opportunity to do better.
This very short story can be an eye opener. This spoke to me in so many ways and I'm in awe with the message and thankful for second, third, fourth, etc. chances given to get it right. Wake up...follow the daily instructions and listen as God whispers loudly.
Yes, I recommend this very, very short story!!! [It was free from Amazon, it caught my attention, therefore I purchased it]

This short story, whose Kindle cover currently claims it has distributed over a half-million copies, tries to accomplish too much in eight pages. The guy has problems at work, has an accident, 15 years disappear in the blink of an eye after which he catches up with his family, and then there has to be a magical wrap-up that involves talking to God. There is a sequence of events here and it is fine. What's missing is character development that would allow the reader to identify with or be interested in anyone, the horror inherent in the freaky medical situation, a deeper investigation of the existential regret of "I spent too much time worrying about the wrong things and forgot I could die at any moment," and explication of the characters' religious beliefs and why it matters if the main character is a theist on an "actual" God trip and not "just" a humanist having a nightmare.

Short yet extremely powerful!
when I first started reading this book, I was not aware of how short of a book it was. I was instantly drawn in to the story, then as soon as the book was getting incredibly good, boom! it was over. I was disappointed at first, wanted the story to continue, but then I realized it was an amazing message that is able to be conveyed in just a few short pages.
A strong and powerful little book of truth! A must read for all ages, all faiths! A cleanse to the soul!

Great life lesson to remember....
For a short story, this book has a big life lesson for all. It grabbed my attention and tugged at my heart with it's truths about our busy life agendas and the still small whisper of God's gentle loving Spirit which is always there, guiding his children. How easily we get pulled into the world's views and our own expectations in life, and forget the simple things that are the most important to our Heavenly Father. Made me wish it was a little bit longer book!

I just wasted my time and $3 reading this book. I mean, I thought the message would be more original and you know just written with a new and different point of view. I mean, OK, I got the message, but its like going to church and hearing the same same same same things over and over again. We need something...different I guess :) I am totally fine if you disagree with me, Im just tired of the same stories

Astounding
I would recommend this book to anyone who has doubt about what the will of God can and will do for you. This book has open my eyes wider to the things in my own life as they relate to the father mentioned. People probably think dejavous is just something unexplainable, but I believe it is God giving us a glimpse into something he has in store for us. So, When God whispers, you better listen.

Really good very short story
There is a saying that the best way to get the attention of a mule is to whack him across the head with a 2x4. Sometimes God has no other alternative with us - WHACK! Even Christians need a reminder of who we serve and love and who loves us unconditionally with no beginning and no end. When God Whispers Loudly reminds us not to take Christ or each other for granted. A very good, but very short read.

What a wonderful short story! Thought-provoking to say the least. It truly opened my eyes. I think most of us know just how the narrator felt. We've all been so busy that God's whispers can be drowned out. This story shows the importance of not letting our own desires for more overshadow the blessings we already have. Loved this short read!!

So much said in this little ebook. Do not take advantage of the time you have to be with the people you love. Enjoy the small things in life. That's what I got out of this book. Enjoy your life and don't put money, job or anything else over family...Listen to God's "loud" whisper.

Horrible
I'm glad this story was free. I thought it was quite dumb, nonsensical, and poorly written. don't waste your time.

We all need these reminders!
Simple but so true. Even serving the Lord we can get too busy to see what's most important t o Him.
