This is Volume Two of the In My Blood Series.
This is a novella.
Today is the day I set my plan in motion. No one else around here plans on seeing reason, that what is happening is vicious and nauseating. On top of being immoral and just wrong. Everyone is on my father’s payroll and simply goes along with whatever he says. I plan on changing that though.
My father wants a daughter to take over his empire, all right. I’ll do what he wants, but what he won’t know is that I plan on changing what it is that he’s is doing here. I’m going to free every woman he has locked in that warehouse and any others that come along.

I was given an ARC for an honest review. This is part 2 of the "In My Blood" series. If you haven't read part one please do it before you read this one or you will be missing a lot of important points. This is another short book in the series and was just as good as the 1st one. Aura has come to the conclusion that she's going to do this no matter what it costs her in long run. Now she just needs to convince her psychopath father and (I'm still unsure about him) Cruz of taking over. What happens next in this one still leaves you with more questions than answers and that's what I love about series books. What happens to Aura was terrible and now with Cruz doing what he did well now I'm not sure what to feel about him. He took her from her away from her mother and everything she knows and it happens so fast you don't know if your coming or going. She's put her plan in motion now she just has to be able to be strong enough to pull it off. What she knows going on in the warehouses is killing her inside and knowing what the guards have done makes it even worse. There is nothing happy about this no love, no friendship, no nothing. Its dark and compelling and pulls you in wondering what's going to happen to Aura and all these women. How is she going to break free of herself and do what needs to be done.

I was sucked in deep in the first book in this series and could not wait to jump in to the second book. AL Wood has me completely enthralled with Aura’s story. We learn in the first book that the man that is responsible for her abduction is no other than her father who abandoned her and her mother when she was 8 years old. He runs a sex trafficking trade and wants Aura to take over his legacy. If she refuses, then she will be sold as a sex slave.

Aura makes the hard decision to go along with it for now until she can formulate a plan to escape along with the women held in captivity waiting to be sold. She has to gain not only her father’s trust but also his right hand man, Cruz. To say Cruz has me curious is an extreme understatement. I want to know more about him. Is he truly evil or is there something amuck with him? Since I didn’t get answers in this book, I will have to wait for the next.

In the meantime, I love this series. It is a very serious subject and the story is amazing. I can’t wait to see where AL Wood takes us on the remaining parts of this series. If you haven’t read the first book yet, give it a 1-click. It is a series and they are meant to be read in order. They do leave you with a cliffhanger, but it is a series so you won’t have to wait long for the next one!

The story is engrossing, the characters are starting to be developed more and the setting is well written. I hope these all get published together one day.

Aura agrees to her father's plans and she is secretly planning an escape. Cruz is trying to keep his guard up. Omg loving this series ...the suspense is killing me.
