Anxiety Mindset Coach and hypnotherapist Georgie Collinson offers a 12-week program to help you master your anxious mind and achieve unshakable inner confidence
The Anxiety Reset Method is a 12-week program designed to combat high-functioning anxiety, using holistic solutions that address both the psychological and physical factors behind anxiety. Merging science with the spiritual, and good health with good sense, this successful method addresses both mind and body in order to build resilience and change your relationship to anxiety forever.
High-functioning anxiety is a perfectionistic, pressure-fueled type of anxiety. Despite the anxious feelings, people with high-functioning anxiety perform well, often very well, and are experts at hiding their struggle. But beneath the successful exterior, they feel panicked, overwhelmed, and pushed to the breaking point.
Over the course of 12 weeks, anxiety mindset coach, hypnotherapist, certified nutritionist, and naturopath Georgie Collinson will help you transform your relationship to anxiety. With practices, weekly checklists, and key idea sections, The Anxiety Reset Method provides a clear pathway to overcome the exhausting pressure of high-functioning anxiety and build the resilience you need to thrive. Your anxiety has controlled the narrative for too long—it’s time to master your anxiety and find the unshakeable inner confidence you deserve.
“An approachable program I wholeheartedly believe actually works”—Sarah Wilson, New York Times Bestselling author of First, We Make the Beast Beautiful Master Your Anxious Mind
I bought this book while purchasing another in the bookstore, a case of judging a book by its cover. We all know how that usually ends and there are no surprises here. The first red flag was the endorsement by Sarah Wilson, journalist who has also written a self help book about anxiety.
The Anxiety Reset is long winded and over-realiant on analogy to illustrate points. Instead of well-articulated, clear and succinct prose, every page was heavily illustrated with analogy to the point of distraction. I was ready to put it down several times but persisted however grating the writing was.
If you have anxiety and want real, tested, ways to overcome or manage it then this book may not suit you. It is not an evidence based book like you’d find written by a clinical psychologist. There are scattered few references to peer reviewed evidence despite many of the subjects being well covered in peer reviewed literature. The writer is more of a DIY therapist whose authority comes from life experience. As such, the perspective is one-dimensional and lacks intersectional insight. This is a book for middle and upper middle class white women.
The twelve week reset is more of a theoretical 12 weeks. Exercises are reductive with a significant task in week five oscillating somewhere between impractical and inappropriate.
The Anxiety Reset reads more like a self-help memoir and the author does include some wisdom and interesting tidbits for reflection and discussion with your therapist. The author’s strengths in the book lay with her actual qualification in the nutrition chapter, which I found interesting enough to want to read a something more expansive such as a book on its own.
Two stars for the pearls of wisdom and the key differentiator of nutrition. There are other books that do a better job covering the rest.
This was 5-stars of relatable, comprehensive, informative reading for me which I think was delivered in a very accessible way! The guidebook that will keep giving- categorised and simplified/explained well. While I had to let myself off the hook of following the 12 week program and doing the 'homework', I definitely feel that working through the book within a few weeks allowed me time to process and internalise learnings. I am actually looking forward to going back to complete most of the practices (all of which I marked!) and using this as a reference for myself in future. Recommended by a friend and henceforth recommended by me to others!
Thank you Hachette Books for an ARC of this book in exchange of an honest review!
This book is everything I learned in my 6+ years of therapy in one place which is great to refer back to but it also has the scientific reason behind it which is what helps me understand the whys better
I LOVED the gut health section and how it linked to anxiety. She gave exactly how to fix it too and I’m about to totally change how I grocery shop! fic reason behind it which is what helps me understand the whys better.
I also really compliment the author because instead of just telling you to journal she specifically tells you what to journal!
The thing I didn’t enjoy was it got spiritual and faith based at the very end but didn’t follow my beliefs so I couldn’t relate and just felt disconnected bc I was just going through it to read.
Overall I’d totally recommend it to people like me who struggle with mental health and trying to function through daily life with anxiety!
I can't recommend this book enough! What an absolute game-changer for me. Dealing with anxiety over the past year coming out of nowhere and hitting me like a tonne of bricks, I stumbled upon this gem and decided to give it a try. The methods and strategies shared in the book have had a profound impact on my life. I feel a remarkable difference in my anxiety levels and overall well-being. Georgie's approach is practical, insightful, and incredibly empowering while maintaining an earthy honesty about her own relatable experiences. If you enter the world of Georgie Collinson over many platforms you can clearly see im not the only one to have had this experience. Im not usually the self help section sort but in this case I wholeheartedly suggest picking up The Anxiety Reset Method.
Love her approach on mastering anxiety. This is the book I’ve been waiting to find. Really loved her journal prompts and practical exercises that I’ve been implementing in my daily routine. Highly recommend!
Appreciated the deep dive on the link between anxiety & diet / gut health. Also was refreshing to read about how your menstrual cycle can actually also affect anxiety - that aspect hadn’t been discussed in previous anxiety books I’d read before.
I found this book had some interesting perspectives, and helpful tools to implement. Some were fairly straight forward or ones I already had in my own toolkit; but resonated with the establishment of your own personal 'Resilience Shield'. Very cool concept.
I feel like this book gave me actionable steps and journal prompts to help my path. The holistic solutions addressed both physical and psychological factors that could increase anxiety.
Wow!what a wonderful self help book foe those suffering from high functioning anxiety. Great suggestions on how to calm the system down. A must for your bookshelf.
