Pretty good story.. A little on the predictable side, and maybe a bit repetitious. Lots of good action.

The secrets and lies of her past destroyed Simone and Reece Sheridan's marriage. But now those same secrets have come back to haunt them as someone is targeting the members of Simone's CIA team for death and Reece refuses to leave her in harm's way ...

A surprisingly entertaining read with likable characters, a satisfying romance and an action-packed storyline.

Why surprising? Because romantic suspense novels involving covert operatives tend to requires a great deal of suspension of disbelief when it comes to the romance. Eye of the Storm manages to avoid the pitfalls of ridiculous sexual interludes.

Simone and Reece's second chance romance is very engaging. The reasons for their divorce are realistic, and the revelation of Simone's past as a CIA agent is not glossed over. It takes Reece time to accept and adjust; he doesn't simply forgive and forget, and Simone doesn't expect him to.

The assassin plot is intriguing although the final twist is easy to figure out as there are numerous clues interspersed throughout the narrative. The action scenes are intense and exciting, but the final sequence is a bit far fetched with .

All in all, a fantastic start to the series and I look forward to continuing.

A former black ops team member’s life suddenly turns upside down. Simone Cooper Sheridan thought her CIA Division 9 days were far behind her, until she received The Postcard. Within minutes she’d packed and was ready to walk away from her new life, except her brother-in-law was in the garage apartment

To her dismay, he’s been wounded, and from that moment on, a gunman is dogging their every move. Her ex, a former Texas Ranger, shows up at her first hiding point, and he won’t let her face this trouble on her own. Together they try to get ahead of the danger, but their journey takes them far from home.

This story is a mad dash from start to finish, a page-turning thrill ride, and a joy to read.

So ... I just texted the author and here's what I said, "Just finished “El Ojo de la Tormenta”. Fab! What an adventure! Loved it! You are incredible."

Need I say more? Ok, I will ...Dee kept me interested, lots of diverse themes within the plot: love, suspense, family ties, morals, politics, current events, good vs evil. Dee Davis is an amazing author and I admire the way her mind works and how she's able to weave all the details in and out of the story she creates!

The Eye Of the Storm ... Grab a copy and read it!

This was a good romantic suspense, with the emphasis on suspense, thankfully. I thought I had the plot nailed until the end eventhough I couldn't quite make it all fit.

The romance part shows what happens when assumptions are made and the power of just loving someone for who they are, right now.
