A Wonderful Way to Connect with My Grandkids
I bought this nature journal set for my grandkids (ages 6 and 9), and it’s been one of the best things we’ve done together. These days, kids are surrounded by screens, but this journal gets them outside, looking closely at the world around them. We take it on walks, sit in the backyard, and even bring it to the park. They love drawing what they see and writing down their observations like little scientists.

The Educator’s Handbook has been a big help for me, too. It gives simple guidance on how to encourage curiosity without making it feel like schoolwork. I’m no science expert, but this book makes it easy to ask good questions and spark their interest.

If you’re a grandparent looking for a meaningful activity to share with your grandkids, I highly recommend this. It slows things down, gets us talking, and makes for some really special memories.

Easy, Low-Prep, and Actually Fun
With two young daughters and a busy work schedule, it’s hard to find activities we can do together that don’t take a ton of planning. This nature journal has been perfect. The Educator’s Guide makes it super easy—I can just flip to an activity, grab the journal, and head outside. We don’t do it every day, but even once a week or every other week has been enough to spark their curiosity. It’s simple, low-prep, and a great way to slow down and connect as a family.

I got this journal for my 8-year-old niece, and she took to it right away. She’s always been curious about the little things—shells on the beach, lizards on the fence, clouds in the sky—so this was the perfect way to encourage that. Now, she brings it everywhere, filling it with sketches and notes about what she sees. It’s been such a fun way to connect and share in her excitement!
