Picking up a cop boyfriend should be pretty handy under such dire circumstances, but as the bodies pile up and evidence of murder mounts against Heather, close proximity to law enforcement becomes a double-edged sword for them both.
Sharpshooters like Ike aren't known for their Cassanova skills and he soon learns voicing your doubts is a real romance killer. Heather distances herself from his protection, leaving the field wide open for the murderer to strike again, frame his heroic victim, and walk away clean.
...All while rubbing every bit of it in Ike's face. Heather and Ike's faith in God is strong enough to sustain them individually, but if they can't show some faith in each other, history will repeat itself.

Watch your back
Trying to help people in a major storm heather believes people are all good. She helps a psycho and doesn't realize it. Her life is turned upside down. I am really enjoying KD Harps books.

A good look at what rescue people do during a major disaster. One person has killed and set up another. A great who-done-it!

This book is a thriller romance. The bad guy is revealed on page one, so there is no mystery there. (Side note: Heaven is a place, and places do not try to kill people. Also, sending a hurricane to kill one specific person is ridiculous.) The suspenseful part of the story, if the bad guy will catch the heroine, was good. The biggest mystery is if the heroine will tell the hero her true feelings about the bad guy. If she does, then the hero will not be able to misconstrue her actions, and there will be no suspense in the romance portion of the story. I liked the characters and their efforts to respect each other's beliefs. I am confused by the actions of Lillie and her friends at the end. It sounds like they are spending their free time talking to the bad guy and giving him home-cooked food. That's way more than he deserves.
Note: There is some bad grammar on the back cover. Unfortunately, that also occurs a few times in the book.
