Hot Damned #3

Hell On Heels

Rate this book
Where does a Demon go when she gets deported from Hell?

Kentucky. Eden, Kentucky to be more specific—where nothing is exactly as it seems.

My name is Dixie. I’m a Demon—a lousy Demon. I’m a twenty-one year old virgin and I have a battery operated boyfriend. My magic is iffy at best and downright dangerous at worst. Leaving Hell to represent my race is not high on my list of things to do.

Hell was exact. Hell was simple. All I want to do is get to home base with the hotter than Hades Demon of my dreams and work on my dark side so Satan, my dad, will get off my ass.

Instead I end up in Kentucky looking for the Balance of Chaos, avoiding pole dancing classes with Mother Nature and finding out my invisible friend is a silver skinned destructive weather pattern.

And if that isn’t craptastic enough, the damn Sword of Death is missing again and who ever has it wants the King of the Underworld dead. Seriously.

With new powers emerging daily, keeping my Demon side, horniness and general disgust under wraps doesn’t make it any easier to fit in with the humans. Thankfully my priorities are in line; get laid…save world…try not to blow up kitchen appliances…and get laid again. I was ready to rumble.
All I want to do is go back to Hell, but with the balance of good and evil in my hands, I’m stuck in the garden of Eden. Oh well, what the Hell. Someone has to save the world before there’s no world left to save. Might as well be me.

Hell on Heels by Robyn Peterman
3rd book in the Hot Damed series. Paranormal romantic comedy. Best read as part of the series.
Dixie is a Demon and currently living in Eden, Kentucky trying to figure out her life. But new powers plus Mother Nature, the Demon of Death, not to mention her sister’s Baby Demons, has Dixie longing for the simpler Hell where she knows the rules. Nope, not gonna happen.

Laugh out loud hilarity, crazy antics and steamy hot males in action make this book fly. Dixie may have been the sweet family member but give her power and watch her soar.

Yet another hit from Ms. Peterman. One-click away because I guarantee a bundle of laughs. Oh and the four baby Demons are back and they love bumbums (you’ll see what I mean when you read the book)!

This is going to be a short review but that’s mostly because ….you just have to buy and read the book because I’m not telling! Lol.

Satan’s favourite daughter, Dixie (whom we met in the previous book), is back and has her very own story. I am pleased to say that she is not exactly the Dixie that we know but in a way she is. Yes, totally vague but please read above paragraph-I am not telling anyone anything! ;) Other favourite characters in this book-Satan (duh), Gigi aka Mother Nature (I heart her), Grandpa (I want to really hug him), The Kev (my krumecaca!), a very pregnant and unhappy Astrid (!!), to name a few. Some new additions and might I add pretty hot ones. Okay ONE really H.O.T addition-Hayden Black. Sigh….

Bottom line-read this book. Ms. Peterman has done it again so get ready for a hilarious, action-packed, sexy ride!!

One gripe-the story ended at 86% on my kindle and then there was a preview from another book. That is cheating and did not make me happy at all. The only reason I am not yelling and throwing my kindle across the room is because this book is still fantastic and managed to appease me.

P.S.: Love the hot sex scenes and the bumbum spanking! ;)

Dixie Satan's daughter is going through some growing pains. Everything is about to become clear and chaotic.
I liked Dixie, she young, not dumb, tough but not over the top, funny and loves animals. She is sure of herself mostly, and has the messed up family tree to top them all. She also rarely giggled, thank the gods.
On to book 4 soon, maybe

Dixie gets deported from Hell and ends up in Kentucky to save the world. This is another totally messed up book from the warped mind of Robyn Peterman that will have you laughing non stop! I'm beginning to wonder about her.... I love Dixie and her extended fu@ked family and you will too! I can't wait to see what Robyn can think of next!

Marie's Tempting Reads Review:

Robyn Peterman does it again! She created another hilarious, fun, snarky romance that left me doubled over with laughter and just immensely pleased. With a Robyn Peterman book you can expect the unexpected, and that is just beyond awesome.

I really loved getting to know Dixie more through the third book in The Hot Damned Series. We first met her in book 2, Fashionably Dead Down Under and I just wanted so bad to be friends with her. She is surprisingly sweet for a Demon and has the kindest soul. I love her personality and her quirky ways and her friends are just as amazing and sweet, yet highly destructive. I loved watching Dixie flourish and fall in love with her soulmate and I so enjoyed watching her many adventures as her powers grow to amazing heights. I am absolutely in LUST with Hayden. I love the fact he has been waiting so long for Dixie and I just love how good he is to her. He is incredibly good looking and I found his cockiness hot. The scenes between Dixie and Hayden were beyond yummy! I found myself sighing dreamily and fanning myself. I could go on and on about the characters of Hell On Heels but I think I will stop before I totally give everything a way *wink*.

I can't tell you enough how much I loved this book and how much I am looking forward to the next book. I am amazed with the creative juices that flow from Robyn Peterman. Her work is fun, sassy, snarky, and the characters unforgettable and the story imaginative and totally creative. Her Hot Damned books got so much humor and hysterical adventures that I nearly wet myself and had to stop a few times just to catch my breath. Yes, its THAT good! That is why I give Hell On Heels a whopping FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS! If I could, I would give this a 10! If you like your paranormal romance with lots of laughs, plenty of adventure and sensual, sexy passion, then Hell On Heels is the book for you.

In the third installment of the Hot Damned series by the amazing Robyn Peterman, Satans youngest daughter, Dixie, heads to earth with her crazy group of protectors to pose as a college student and restore the Balance of Chaos to the world. Dixies book is a journey of self discovery. She has to learn who she is and what her role is on her own.

As is always the case with Robyn's books, I had so many moments where I was laughing out loud. But her books also contain so much honesty and raw emotion. The love the characters have for one another is so real that it brings an honesty to the books that always leaves me wanting more. I cannot wait for the next book!

Another wonderful read from Peterman. This book focuses on Dixie, Astrid's cousin from hell. Little demon Dixie has to go to Earth on a mission from her father, Satan. Hilarity ensues when she takes her 3 misfit protectors to Eden Kentucky, and she starts to learn about her destiny.

I had no idea this was Dixie's book because I jumped into it without reading the blurb. Dixie is an unusual Demon and she was nervous about being deported from Hell. She is Satan's favorite daughter and leads a sheltered life. Dixie doesn't know her birth mother and no one answers her questions about this mystery.

I go to group therapy.
When you live in Hell and you’re not considered to be evil enough, you have to do therapy.

Her therapy group volunteers to guard her on Earth.

Hayden Black was the boy of Dixie's dreams and she was always flustered around him. Hayden was patient, protective, funny and sweet.

“You scare the Hell out of me, Dixie, in the best way possible.”

“Don’t back away from me, Dixie,” his voice was soft. “Not now. Not like this.” He held his arms
out to me.
I didn’t hesitate or even think. I ran right into his arms, the only place I ever wanted to be again.

Dixie needs to find the Balance of Chaos, the Sword of Death and her powers must appear before she runs into trouble. She learns about True Immortals and realizes that being away from her support system was a necessary evil.

It frustrated the Hell out of me that
everything and everyone was so damn cryptic, but that was the way of the immortal world. I could
learn or burn. I decided to learn.

Astrid and her adorable demons make an appearance, Gigi joins the party and Dixie goes on a quest that threatens her demonic existence.

This series is working out really well for me. We are introduced to new, powerful characters and all of them are hiding something. The world building is spectacular, the writing is snarky and clever.

Dixie isn't like most demons. She is nice, has a hard time being mean to others, she is a virgin, and is kind hearted. It burns her father up. Oh and her father is Satan, King of the Underworld. Her magic is iffy and hasn’t come all the way in yet but they are coming soon. Her dad is sending her to earth to represent her race, in Eden, KY to be exact. She doesn’t want to go. The demon of her dreams has been giving her attention and she wants to jump his bones. And what is it about him? But her duty must be done. She must find the Balance of Chaos and find the Sword of Death before someone tries to kill her father.

This series rocks!!! This book grabs you from the beginning and holds you the entire time. I picked it up and didn’t put it back down. Robyn is such an amazing and talented author! I love her books! If you enjoy a good laugh and some action both in and out of the bedroom, then this book and whole series is for you!

Can I just say I felt like I was listening to a Molly Harper book. Not sure if it was the narrator or style of writing/story. I don’t know who came first (published their first book), but I will say this story/series lacks the flow and story telling a Molly Book has. This story was choppy filled with cheesy pop culture references which over time will date the book. At the same time, there was a charm that kept me listening. My main problem is that this book acted more like a UF than a PNR. I felt zero connection between Dixie and Hayden. I felt we were told they were in love than actual feeling it. Then again they were on the page together about 5% of the book. Thus the UF feel, however as she mooned over Hayden so much when he wasn’t around it made an appeal towards PNR. Sadly, it fell short of both. At the same time with the lack of paranormal books options, I will probably continue as it’s not that bad.

I absolutely LOVED this book. It was great reading about Dixie coming into her powers and discovering who she was to be. I enjoyed every chapter I read. Robyn Peterman outdid herself with this book and god it was well worth the wait, she didn't disappoint at all. I enjoyed both the new characters as well as reading about the ones we already know and love. Astrid as usual was funny as hell as well as her little demon eaters.

This is the third installment of the Hot Damned series and sweet little Dixie really grows up in this book. Robyn Peterman has outdone herself again and really delivered another amazing book. From the laughing out loud moments to the nail biting life or death ones, this book keeps you wanting more. I loved Hayden, Dixie's odd little family, and I always enjoy mother nature. Snarky romance at it's best, 5 out of 5 stars. I can't wait for book four!

Once again Robyn Peterman has given us a book full of twists, turns and tons of hilarious fun! As has come to be expected with Robyn's books there is plenty of humor. But as I've also come to expect, there is true character development and wisdom that comes from the journey she takes us on. I truly enjoyed reading Dixie's story and I can't wait for the next installment in this series!

FIVE FRIGGIN STARS! http://areaderlivesa1000lives.blogspo...
Let me start with a list, since you know I love lists!
1.OMG! I love Robyn's twisted mind.
2.I don't do spoilers, so I am going to be honest - this review MIGHT now make sense. Haha
3.Hell has never been this HOT!
4.Robyn is writing a hilarious computer manual with her super HOT hubby, Steve Zahn (you might know him from Daddy Daycare - that is what he is famous for in my house. The kids watch that movie on repeat!) But she needs to make a calendar with her new curse words she creates!

***
This is Dixie's book. You met Dixie in the previous Hot Damned books. What you will remember is she is the goody two-shows favorite VIRGIN daughter of the outrageously hot, Satan. (If you haven't read the first two, I must ask: Have you been living under a rock?) Dixie knows her time on Earth is coming, but she is not ready. Especially after she seems to have caught the attention of the Demon of her Dreams. (This D.O.D. she is hoping will replace her B.O.B - battery operated boyfriend!)
I pried open one eye, and much to my great horror and delight stood the object of my desire in the flesh. The most beautiful man I'd ever seen - Hayden Black.
In this installment, you get to catch up on your favorites. We welcome back Gigi (Dixie's Grandmother, Mother Nature!), who is enough to have Satan himself hiding behind a rock.
"Your grandmother is the definition of unstable insanity, and if I knew why she summoned us we wouldn't be hiding behind a rock," he answered logically.
"Dad, you're my rock and this is making me very nervous."
It wouldn't be Hell without Satan's 7 other daughters, better know as the Seven Deadly Sins. They love their sister, Dixie even with all her loving and good-natured flaws. When it comes to her falling in love with D.O.D, Hayden - they are chalk full of reasons NOT to.
Do not under any circumstances find a soul mate. It completely ruins the fun of orgies.
We are welcomed back by a STILL pregnant, Astrid and her hunky man, Ethan. Astrid is dying to have her 6-10 headed baby, and be able to see her feet again. Ethan wants his wife back. I bet all fathers can relate to what he is feeling, except he has no answers. Astrid loves her cousin, Dixie. Even more now that the F-bomb has entered into her vocabulary.

I cannot really tell you much more about the story without giving too much away. Dixie is given the task of controlling the balance between good and evil on Earth. There are rogue demons that are out to rid the world of Satan and his brother, God. While in Eden, she needs to find the missing sword, attend community college with her misfit family of demons, and watch out for Angels who want to kill her and Eden's version of the Mean Girls aka the Vultures. When arriving in Eden, she quickly finds out her dear old Dad has cut off all communication with Hell for a month. WHAT? No, Hayden Black? Let's talk about Hayden Black. He makes me want to be 21 again. (Sidenote, Dixie's BFF, Stella is a damn riot!)
"Well, it just so happens I'm going to the library too" He winked conspiratorially at Stella. " Can I walk with you?"
He turned his green gaze on me and waited for my answer. The speech part of my brain ceased to function. All I could do was stare at him like an idiot.
"Yes," Stella chimed in and gave me a push. "She'd love to walk with you and maybe even sit at the same table, regain her power of speech and exchange a few words."
Her lack of speech ability is how I feel around Hayden. Silly, right? He is on paper. I can just turn the page on him! But, nope. I re-read what he says. *swoon*
"Dixie," he said softly. "Look at me."
"I can't." I continue my love affair with my fingernails. " I get stupid when I look at you."
"I find that extremely flattering and very sexy," he said.
There were so many damn swoon-worthy moments in this book. How Dixie maintained her composure around this man, I will never understand. Oh wait, she didn't.
"Dixie," he moaned. "We have to stop."
"Why?" I touched my forehead to his.
"Because I want you to fall for my intellect and charm before I let you ravish my body."
I giggled and brushed my fingertips along his cheekbones and jaw. "What if I only want you for your hot bod?"
He chuckled, "I won't be used that way. Well... maybe once or twice." He grinned. "I'm looking for something lasting. I plan to make you fall head over heels, no turning back in love with me."

Back to my listy lists! This is what else you will find in this laugh out loud, pee your pants hilarious and sex in the science lab closet sexy book:
1.Wings.
2.A traitorous brother who kisses his brother's lady friend.
3.A "Heaven & Hell" themed collage dance.
4.Baby demons who love the bum bums!
5.And the MOST creative curse words EVER.

To end my review, I need you to know I am a faithful fan of the beautiful and wickedly funny Robyn Peterman - and this is her BEST book so far. I didn't think she could top her Handcuffs & Happily Ever Afters series. But, I friggin' LOVED this!

Robyn Peterman does it again! Hell On Heels, Book 3 in the HOT DAMNED SERIES is hot, sexy, nail-biting, laugh out loud, giggle-snort fun! Dixie is finding her footing and growing into her own. Who would think it would happen in Kentucky, where things certainly are not as they seem. I recommend Hell on Heels and all of Robyn Peterman's books, just have those tissues ready and make sure you take a potty break occasionally, it's that funny. Can't wait for the rest of this series!

A Demonically great read

With this just released third book in the Hot Damned Series Robyn Peterman continues with a hilarious read! This time it is all about Dixie. She has finally come of age and needs to go “learn to be a Demon” and is sent to Eden, Kentucky which thankfully is where Astrid & Ethan are too, so it can’t be all that bad. So with her new “family” in tow she packs up and moves in to her new digs and tries to settle in with the humans. Since she does not have a clue what she is supposed to do or what her powers even are, Dixie needs to learn to believe in herself and trust both her instincts and her friends. With lots of Robyn’s characteristic snark, humor and twists, you will find that this story is as funny as Hell (which actually seems to look a lot like Eden, Kentucky, by the way.) I think that you will come to love Dixie as quickly as I did! You can’t help but want to hug & protect her!! Except that is exactly what her Dad has done her whole life which has led to Dixie having grown up so sheltered, that at the tender age of 21 she has a battery operated boyfriend, no clue as to what her magic and powers should be and probably why she is not a “true demon”. And as with any Robyn Peterman book, you need to have a change of pants because I guarantee that you will pee yourself laughing!!

You have got to love this family. They are quite messed up but in a very fun way. The grandmother cracks me up. Everyone is scared of this lady who pole dances and causes chaos. The Sins were not as big a part of this book as the last one. I missed them once Dixie went to Earth because they weren't part of the story much after that. Overall, a fun addition to the story and I am curious what the next book has in store for us readers.

Holy Hotness! I love the wit and humor in this book, Dixie Satans youngest daughter has always been the good girl in Hell, now finds herself send to Eden, KY and she must learn to get her evil on, all while protected herself from rogue demons and angels who either want to kiss her or kill her. Dixie is banned from contact with Hell for one month after arriving on Earth, determined to figure out the insane riddles and restore the balance of good and evil she finds herself confused, frustrated and lost. Her entourage which consists of her protecters from Hell and a werewolf and some other fun characters join her as she searches for answers and the power to save the world for complete unbalance. Loveable characters, witty lines, insanely fun story and a plot that will keep you guessing all make this one HELL on an awesome read!

Cute story about Astrid's cousin, Dixie! I like the way the author took us on Dixie's journey of coming into her powers and becoming her own person. Her character development was satisfying and the laughs from situational kookiness and inner dialogue had me in stitches at times.

Third in the series and we have the story of Dixie and Hayden.

I very much like how so far in the series the stories have centred on the heroine and their growth.

Dixie is the youngest child of Satan, his favourite child even if she is too good to be bad and has been in therapy for not being bad enough as a demon.

Hayden is more than he seems at the beginning of the book and his love and need for Dixie was lovely.

Again chock full of great secondary characters - and this one seemed less ott than the first two books, but then Dixie is not as sarcastic as Astrid. Still hugely enjoyable and funny and out there!

Hell On Heels is the third book in Robyn Peterman's Hot Damned series and did not disappoint me at all.
This is Dixie's story. She is Satan's youngest daughter. She is 21 and has yet to come into her powers. She is sweet and kind and that drives her dad nuts. It is time for her to go to Earth. But before she goes to Earth, she does meet her soul mate, Hayden Black.

Hayden is a True Immortal as the Angel of Death and he's been waiting for 18 years for Dixie. Hayden is gorgeous, hot and is willing to wait for Dixie to complete her mission on Earth. But he's also impatient and jealous of his brother, Elijah. That's all I am saying about that - no spoilers.

We get to see some of the characters from the previous books again and I was so glad to see them. Astrid, very pregnant and irritable, Ethan, Gigi, The Kev, Gemma, Satan (of course), Grandpa and the baby demons. Then there is Myrtle, Janet and Carl, Dixie thinks of them as her family and Satan has assigned them to go with Dixie as she begins her adventures on Earth.

Robyn's plots are always fast paced with lots of twists and turns, snarky dialogue, and laugh out loud moments. Robyn's world building is also amazing. Dixie's growth into her powers and her wisdom as she begins to understand herself and her world was an amazing journey that I enjoyed.
