I was able to snag this book for cheap at a local bookstore and I really enjoyed it for what it is. Pompeii reminds me a lot of books I would see in Paris that gave some general information about key pieces of art in the major art museums that I imagine are generally sold to tourists. This book talks a lot about what life was like for people in Pompeii but also references pieces of art from there too. The images are very nice with quite a few them making me want to visit Napoli and Pompeii pretty badly. I don't think anybody would say this book is a masterpiece or life-changing, but it is enjoyable for anyone wanting to learn more about Pompeii and could be a nice memento of a trip taken there.
