Flux: A Cyberpunk Romance for Men

Rate this book
Roen Travall is fresh out of university—and already has blood on his hands.

He could probably list the parents who abandoned him, a manipulative brother who raised him in isolation, cutting him off from the world until he was too scared to even talk to people. But excuses don’t matter when his brother has another job for him—and unless Roen finally stands up for himself, it’ll be innocent lives that pay the price for his mistakes.

Flux loves coding. She loves blasting games with the girls. But more than anything, she loves watching the cute boy across the café balcony. She’s been stalking Roen Travall for years. Not like, in a weird weird way, but uuuh... guess there's no good way to stalk a guy? Well, she doesn't fuggin care. Because now she works at NullCorp as a security specialist, and when her human gets cornered one rainy afternoon—she’ll bring the skies crashing down to save him.

Flux is a high-energy cyberpunk romance where love sparks amidst crime. In a corporate megacity where shareholders clink glasses and death-spirits aim down their sights, one question

What happens when an obsessed pixie hacker falls in love with a simple man?

As a man, (the supposed demographic) I will say my main gripe with this book is the MC. By the end he had his shit together, but a traumatized guy who can't really run his own life is not really what/who I'm looking to read about.

Yes, he did develop, but it was a lot to slog through, added to his bat-shit-crazy pixie suitress (the correct term, I looked it up) it was a bit much. Overall good in the end, but not really my speed.

Good read

This story and the one before it are both good reads if you like strong women going for an "average guy." And you can learn a lot of new online lingo in this one.

If you read the first book this author published. You can definitely tell the improvements in their style. Keep it up.

Another gem

For a first-time author, Earliest Bird continues to impress. I love this cyberpunk world, and I can't wait for the next installment in this wonderful painted story. There's so much more to learn, and I can't wait for every new lore drop.
