Brad Weiss is the COO of Orion Inc who has been groomed for the CEO, and his mentor who was also like a father to him Peter Langman the owner of Orion Inc. Has been thinking of stepping down from the CEO role and will still be staying on as the President. Peter was working hard to stop Tian Wang from controlling the gas supply, which the pollution was deadly. Peter then drops the bomb and tells Brad that Steven Wright would be then next CEO! Before heading back to Oregon, Peter sends Brad for a two night stay at Citron Hotel and Casino for a little R & R. He got a little more than that. He played the gaming tables and before long found himself at the high stakes table and thought he was wining 4 billion only to wake up finding Tian Wang in his room saying he owed 4 billion dollars and showed a video of him of porn only to find out the porn was of him, not cool.. He had 3 (triplets underage) in his room. So Tian Wang was going to Blackmail Brad into taking down Orion Inc. or else he would turn him over to the authorities, or he could pay the 4 billion, whichever he wanted to do.. He knew he couldn't betray Peter in the end but had to go along with Tian for now.. They had drugged his champagne is why he could not recall none of this..Brad agreed to Tian Wang terms, and headed back to Oregon. Knowing full well he would try to find a loop hole.
This is where Ally and Delilah are sent as interns and then after a couple of weeks things are heating up and getting more dangerous so Jake is sent in as well. That is when all goes crazy as Ally has a hard time watching Jake take a lady out on dates as he is trying to get info on the case..
I won't say anymore, as I dont want to give anything else away..But this is such a great read, that I simply couldn't put the book down, I rec' the book for an honest review and I am giving just that. This is so well written and the stranger danger, the romance, will they be able to find their true love in the end? You will have to read the book to find out.. Can't wait for book three!! Loved it!

I love Marie Astor's book and her new release is great. She write romance with suspense.
Burning Ties is the second book in her Love, Power, and Sin series. Marie continues with the story of Allyson Robert now that she is getting her life back on track with career and new relationship. Also in this book is Delilah Jones. I love the friendship Delilah and Ally formed. I was glad Marie told Delilah's story in this book.
I am big fan of Marie Astor and the way she tells a story. I have loved this series from the begin! I love how she entwines the character from each of the books!
I enjoyed the main characters Ally and Delilah. This book is two story in one. It goes through Ally and Jake's relationship. As well as Delilah's story.

The Department of Energy is at it again. With Ally and Delilah on the case what could go wrong? Will Delilah be able to pull off the undercover work with Ally to get the bad guys before something really goes wrong? When Jake shows up on the scene, can Ally not let her feelings show and blow all their covers? They have to find out who the leak at Orion Inc. before it all goes wrong. Bradley Weiss is the COO at Orion Inc. and he thinks he is up for the CEO job, Mr. Langman his boss and mentor was to step down soon and Brad was ready to step up to replace him. After a trip to Hong Kong, Brad is surprised and hurt when Mr. Langman tells him that he will put someone outside of the company into the CEO position. While his boss tells him to take some time off and gives him an envelope with hotel reservations, Brad is angry and needs the time to cool down. When he wakes the next morning, he can’t believe what is happening to him. And he can’t tell anyone about it because he could get into trouble either way. Will Brad get help from the agency or will he go down for spilling Orion’s secrets? Another great addition to the Love, Power & Sin Series. Please read Searing Lies (book 1) of this series first if you haven’t yet. Marie Astor can tell a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end. I was lucky to receive a copy while still in the editing stage and I am loving this series.

“Burning Ties” is book two in Marie Astor’s fabulous “Love, Power and Sin” series, and book two does not disappoint! This book continues the suspense filled romance between Jake and Ally, who we met in book one, “Searing Lies,” and introduces a love interest for the sexy, flashy, beautiful, redheaded Delilah. Delilah is so different from the educated, highly intelligent Ally, you wonder how they became such good friends! Delilah did not have a degree in engineering and physics as Ally does, but in fact, one could say she had a degree in human psyche earned from the school of hard knocks!! Ally and Delilah are sent on an assignment which proves to be dangerous and full of intrigue. Here we meet Brad who is the COO of a company and he appears to be up to his ears in espionage! Not only does this assignment test the strength of Ally and Jake’s relationship, but it leaves Delilah wondering if she has fallen for a man who is on the path to total destruction. You will love the drama that ensues when this team of amazing women go on the road to solve this conspiracy. Marie has done a superb job of creating another series full of suspense, love, mayhem, intrigue, and deception! You will love this series no matter what your favorite reading venue might be. Loved Delilah, she really showed them.
You can feel the danger. Lots of twists and turns in this romantic suspense, you definitely NEED to grab a copy and read this book!

This is the 2nd book in the Love, Power and Sin Series and it did not disappoint. In the beginning I thought Brad was kind of a jerk but soon fell in love with him. This book catches us up with Jake and Ally and also partners Ally with Delilah. Full of suspense, drama, heartbreak, mystery and redemption this book has it all. I am really looking forward to the next one!!!

Baiting Trouble: Sinful Business Book 2 is by Marie Astor. This is the second book in this series about an agency with the Department of Energy. This is a group that is much like the FBI except it works on white collar energy crimes.
After finally getting through the training, Delilah and ally are junior agents. Ally has really made a name for herself by solving several cases including finding the man responsible for the death of her Father. Ally also was in a relationship with Jake who was lead trainer at the agency. Although it is frowned upon, they still have a relationship but are not letting it influence their jobs.
Because of her background as a high-priced escort, Delilah feels she is just wanted in the agency because of the marvelous way she has of putting clothes together to make sexy and memorable gowns. She wanted to do more besides dress women.
Then Ally and Delilah are chosen to work as interns in a large company to find information about possible leaks to Tin Wang of Japan. It must be at the top and Brad Weiss had been overlooked when they made chairman so he is the logical person to go wrong. Will they have luck this first time out or will they bomb?
This is a really good book and easy to read.

What is most enjoyable about reading a book by an author whose works you have found satisfying in the past is when your expectations are met again and again with each new tale.
For me the best part of reading something written by Marie Astor is her ability to combine smart with sexy in both her male and female characters, that and the bad guys always get what is coming to them!
Being this was the second book in a series one would expect to be able to pick right up where the last book left off, you can and best of all you really do not have to read the previous story to follow along with this one although it is always a good idea to do so just for the sake of continuity with the characters past actions.
The main plot deals with uncovering corporate espionage and it is married with the difficulties that face Ally and Jake as they find this particular covert assignment testing the strength of their relationship and even more interesting it allows Delilah a chance to prove herself to the agency as well as perhaps finally find romance for herself!
Suspense, corporate espionage, secrets, lies and deception mixed with some new direction in character growth combine to create another good reading experience.

What is most enjoyable about reading a book by an author whose works you have found satisfying in the past is when your expectations are met again and again with each new tale.

I truly loved this book and couldn't put it down. Ally and Delilah are new agents learning the ropes at the agency they work for. Jake also works for the same agency as a senior agent. He mentored the girls and he and Ally entered into a relationship during that time. Ally and Delilah are called into the bosses office and were told they are being sent from New York to Oregon to go undercover as new interns in an energy company called, Orion. They are the biggest provider in the U S and they are acquiring a contract from Hong Kong. They are to take over there and it has ruffled the feathers of the current king pin in that area Tian Wang. Brad Weiss is the COO of Orion and while in Hong Kong he got drunk and now the kingpin has a video of him and threatens to go public and put him in jail if he doesn't cooperate with the plans to take over Orion. He doesn't want to help but he is very far into debt to the tune of four million dollars to Mr Wang. This is a great story and it has a good build up to the end. I gave you some background but you really have to read this book. See what happens to Ally and Delilah as they work undercover and they also bring in Jake to help. Also Delilah really falls for Brad. All I can say is you really will enjoy this book, especially if you have ever read any of Marie's books

What a great story with suspense, love and intrigue mixed in. Really liked the setting and dynamics of the relationships.
Was great learning more about Delilah and of course getting to know Brad. Loved that Ally and Jake were in this story.
Who wouldn't love to be an undercover agent...but does it come at a price? You'll need to read to find out!
There were a couple times where I thought for sure the story was going to go in a certain direction and Marie through me...I was wrong!

Another wonderful edge of seat book
Ally and Jack love life continues. Ally and Delilah are sent to Orion in Oregon on a mission...big mission. Jack follows, but has to remain detached from Ally because of the mission. And Delilah is great as an agent in the field...they all must save Orion from the treachery of Wang. Full of action, thrills, romance. I hope there is another story in this series. I love it. I love that Delilah met someone. surprise!!!

This time Allyson and Delilah go undercover in a large energy company. Allyson isn't happy, since it takes her away from Jake. Delilah is excited about her first undercover assignment and wants to prove her worth. There she meets Brad, the COO of the company and a potential suspect. She almost instantly feels a connection to him. This is another Marie Astor book that I couldn't put down until I was finished! Lots of suspense and drama that will keep you turning the pages.

This is a great addition to the series. It drew me in from the very first page and kept me engaged till the very last page. I love how the characters are continuing to develop and grow. And, while I love Ally and Jake, I really enjoyed seeing how Dellilah has grown and changed.
I'm already looking forward to the next book.

I read the first in the series an really enjoyed ally ,jake and deliah characters.as much as I like the first book I really like the second it kept up with jake and ally but also let deliah shine in this book. Will read more by this author.

Another excellent book in this series. It keeps you on your toes until the end. Can't wait for the next one. I would recommend this to everyone to read. Keep the excellent books coming Marie!!!
