Powerful, beautiful, and covered in scars...

Brielle, born of a mortal-immortal union between a human mother and the devil Himself, is prophesied to be the one capable of turning the tide in the brewing apocalypse.

As Brielle’s thirtieth birthday draws near, she strikes a deal with the devil and sets out on a journey of self discovery. In an attempt to comprehend what it means to be fully human, Brielle finds herself at the door of her therapist, Adam. Blurring relationship lines and questioning everything, she quickly learns that humanity, vulnerability, and love are things she isn't prepared to handle. Distancing herself, she finds shelter in her father’s arms once more.

Two worlds are about to collide...

When the archangel Michael suddenly takes a deep interest in Brielle, Lucifer begins to understand that his greatest opponent is curious about more than just her choice. Michael's fall will be Lucifer's rise and only Brielle holds the key to making it happen.

With a human, an angel, and a demon all tearing at her heart, Brielle realizes it’s time to decide if her loyalties lie with Michael in Heaven or her father in Hell.

Beautifully written and perfectly executed. Kat Daemon's Killing Darkness is an addictive, heart wrenching read. Brielle, the daughter of Satan himself, is a tormented soul (as you can imagine). Her journey is one of self discovery, growth, and painful decisions. This is one of those books you won't be able to put down because you'll HAVE to know what happens next. It can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend picking up Taming Darkness first because that was an amazing read as well!

I wavered between 3 and 4 stars...

Ultimately, I'm giving it 3.5 stars because I didn't find it as captivating as the first book in the series. There were too many perspectives (some of which dragged and bored me) as well as multiple grammatical errors. That said, it *is* a unique take story (for me) and I did enjoy it, over all.

Killing darkness

This book pulled me in and didn't let go until the end when my heart was pounding and my mind wondering what's going to happen.......

Killing Darkness revolves around Brielle, Lucas and Maria's daughter or should I say lucifer!

I felt Brielle's journey, she was pulled in so many directions, stay human or become a demon....... If that's not a tough enough choice, mix in some romance!

Brielle is a down to earth characther that has lived a far more colourful life, but she's got so much to take in and understand. Adam, his so nice and normal, I loved watching their relationship develop, it's not easy loving a half demon, especially with the devil himself interfering.

Luce, why is It I love the bad boy? He goes from letting his feeling slip to being the full on badass but his so smooth with it, totally devilish! I loved the moments of reminiscing about old times with Maria ❤️

I can't not mention Michael, yes the angel! He has his own motives but has the smoothness to make things seem okay.

I can't tell you any more about the plot as not doing spoilers. I will say it's an engrossing book with great characthers, emotions and a journey you won't want to miss.

All in all a great read, I'd probably suggest reading book one first so you can understand Lucas (lucifer) a little more, but you could read this a stand alone if wanted.

If you love heaven vs hell reads with romance and a tormented leading lady pick up this hot read.

5 heaven vs hell stars.

I loved--LOVED--Lucifer in the first book of this series. His narrative voice, his cockiness, his disregard for the humans he rubbed elbows with. Toward the end, the plot got muddled, but I was willing to forgive because of the fascinating character.

This book, unfortunately, didn't strike my fancy. There wasn't enough plot; in fact, it felt a little like back story molded around an attempt at a plot. Not enough happened for my liking, and Lucifer's characteristic snark didn't make enough of its ways into Brielle's voice.

It pains me to give two stars, but by the end, I was skimming. Reading through the last pages, I didn't care about what had happened to the characters.

Yeah, after reading the sequel I am not happy with this series. I kinda regret paying real money for them both. This last book went on for far too damn long. A will she? Won't she? That went on forever. In the end she did what you expected her to do from the beginning and like her father didn't really care enough about the love interest to choose love over evil. Eh whatever. Really disappointed.
