For marine biologist Aaron McNamara, survival isn’t just about escaping the infected. It’s about outlasting the cold, the hunger, and the terrifying realization that something far worse than zombies is lurking in the ice.
With tensions rising and nowhere to run, the only way to survive… is to fight.
💀 Perfect for fans ofThe Thing, 28 Days Later, and The Walking Dead. 🧊 A tense, action-packed survival thriller set in one of the deadliest places on Earth.
Will they escape Antarctica before it’s too late? Or will the ice claim them all?
I’m Danny Mac, a storyteller drawn to apocalyptic worlds, survival against the odds, and the resilience of the human spirit. I write fast-paced, immersive fiction that explores what happens when everything falls apart—and what it takes to rebuild.
My passion for storytelling comes from a love of science fiction, survival narratives, and the raw struggle between hope and despair. I enjoy creating stories that push characters to their limits, forcing them to adapt, fight, and find meaning in a fractured world.
I don’t mind the story and will likely read the rest but it’s hard to do so when there are so many errors, especially with quotation marks. Do you even know how to use them at all or just winging it? I can’t believe stuff like this gets published when it’s so entirely full of errors.
This book follows Aaron McNamara as he takes off on a scientific expedition in Antarctica. There is a storm, and the crew experiences difficulties from it. Then they realize that something much more sinister is happening when more things start going wrong.
Starting with the good parts: The concept is interesting and it's a quick, fast paced read. I think that the way the author describes the zombies and the terrain in general lends to a very eerie feeling that works well for a book like this. The sense of dread the characters feel is done well.
However, the not so good elements: This book desperately needs an editor. The formatting is inconsistent and strange in places, with bolded parts of sentences that feel like stage directions. The point of view also abruptly shifts from first person to third person and back with no explanation. In general this book is rife with capitalization and punctuation errors.
I liked the premise of the story but it needs a good copy editor and less overt foreshadowing. At one point it went from first person POV to third person and back in the middle of the chapter. And some research would help as parts of the story did not seem plausible.
The book was fun and short, it only took me about an hour to read. I liked the story and will keep reading, but there were some errors that a pass with a copyeditor would fix. Otherwise, it's a fun and enjoyable story.
I read the second book before this one so was interested to see what happened. Really enjoyed finding out how everything happened, can't wait to read the 3rd.
