Eli Carter is enjoying his new role as a para-professional, ridding the city of unwanted Disturbances.
A flurry of bookings brings the team to the suburbs, where residents are overrun with poltergeists and tiny dogs. They love the dogs, but want the ghosts gone.
When Eli makes a new friend, he discovers a shocking secret inside one of the suburban houses. It could cost him his life.
There's a point in this book where Val asks Eli what he is and... I'm kinda wondering that myself. Eli isn't always the sharpest pencil in the case (I'd say he's endearingly clueless if I was going to try to describe him), but he has a few abilities (for lack of a better word) that others don't.
And that chip. He has the chip that makes him tell the truth and embarrass himself terribly in front of people he admires. Which is weirdly funny in an OMG!POOR GUY! sort of way.
So. This time around the Ghost Hackers are working their paranormal mojo on an unsuspecting, freakishly neat suburban neighborhood. Eli gets things thrown at him. Khan does... whatever it is he does. Trapping the ghosts, I guess. They make a good team. Well, as long as Eli doesn't mind playing bait to wear the ghosts out.
They have a good gig in this place. Naturally, it won't last. Because if there's one thing I've learned from watching bad sci-fi/horror movies my entire life, it's that if things look to good to be true, there's probably a dragon hiding in a cellar who wants to EAT YOUR FACE OFF. (these events may or may not have happened in the course of this book.)
Anyway. This series is fun. It's quick and easy and you can get a giggle out of Eli's bumbling exploits. And his foray into experimenting with makeup. But that's another story. Not really. It's this story.
Oh, just go read it. I'm really not doing poor Eli justice.
PS - The Brenda interactions are kept to a minimum. Thank goodness. (Yes, I still don't particularly care for her. She's just so... Brenda.)
Received a copy for an honest review. Romance is my favorite genre but every now and again a light fun read is needed to jar my senses. This series is quirky, comical, weird, and mysterious. Easily read in a couple hours I always want more, it's too short. Our trio of misfits is back with a neighborhood outbreak of para-electrical ghosts and odd little dogs. Eli has this feeling the dogs are talking to him. Val is determined to understand Eli's chip in his head and Khan just trudges along. The adventure is fun, the battle scenes are epic and I want more. A refreshing comical paranormal mystery is a fabulous way to break out of a reading rut.
Delightfully narrated [AUDIO], this tale continues the saga of Eli and his new friends. But fear not; it can easily be enjoyed on its own as pertinent background matter is smoothly inserted as necessary to bring you up to speed. Unashamedly parodying the vibe of Ghostbusters, Eli, he of the Truth Chip implanted in his brain (or is it a Smug Chip? a Weirdness Chip?) joins "Ghost Hacker" (franchise copyright concerns--per Khan himself) duo Khan and Val in ridding the city of poltergeists and more in this latest episode. Let a little humor into your life and hope the author deigns to write a few more of these stories!
This is Book 3 of the series. While it could be read alone, I think starting with Book One would be best because it establishes some of the characters and places we meet in Book Three. This is billed as a cozy paranormal mystery, and I guess that fits. It's funny in places. There are many paranormal experiences and the good guys win. (That's not a spoiler in a cozy mystery!) I enjoyed listening to these while driving.
This was actually pretty short and fun. Eli, Khan and Val are fantastic characters and I actually wish this wasn’t the last book in the series. They are investigating an influx of dogs and poltergeists which is great for business, but there’s something sinister at work. They befriend an 8 year old in the neighborhood who may be the key to solving the mystery. This is fun, witty, humorous, with some quirky characters.
This is quick and easy to read. It's paranormal weirdness with humor, some juvenile, some just funny. It is third in a series of three, each of which is complete in itself. There was plenty of action and everything was satisfyingly resolved.
I didn’t think it could get worse than the obsession of the author with the protagonists butt crack sweat and then this book came along… and the butt crack sweat obsession was back, along with the obsession with the holes in his well worn underwear.
Cookie and fun but beware. The three books are really one story. You can read the first and second as free standing but the three are better read as one continued tale.
This was a very enjoyable story, with a nice happy ending. Much better than expected. Well-written, well-paced, and entertaining. In my opinion, this book is very well worth the time to read.

I am really enjoying this little series. I admit I was skeptical at first because of the ghost & paranormal angle. many other authors tried and failed & the first book seemed so strange but I kept at it & now its turning into a story with great characters, all different with quirks that are just enough! I am ready for the next story. thanks for this!!!!
Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It had earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
I was given an ARC. Like the previous 2 books, this was a quick read. The beginning of the book is freaking FUNNY! My favorite part was "Joey silently took the ten dollars with a limp arm, then turned and walked away with this head and shoulders slumping forward at the perfect angle to emote maximum sadness." In this book, Brenda, the girlfriend is less prevalent in this one. So...all in all, funny in the beginning, more serious in the end. I hope the author continues to add more monsters and such. I really like the interaction between the characters in this book. More of that would be great too!

I love the adventures of Eli, Kahn, and Valentine. I couldn't wait to see where this installment was going next. In this part, Eli and Kahn are called to do some investigating in a neighborhood. Now there are some weird things going on involving dogs and poltergeists. I loved trying to figure it all out. There's definitely some action and the interaction between Eli and Kahn is fantastic. Now, I'm still trying to figure out exactly what Eli is. We get some more insight but I like that the authors are slowly giving away clues and keeping us on our toes. This series has been refreshing for me. It is so funny and quirky and I'm truly enjoying. You definitely need to pick it up.
this was read september 4th but never made it to goodreads Eli , Khan and valentine are at it again and are now after more than poltergeist and why can Eli see things . and what is the dark grid and who is the kids and what is up with his mom ... and will Eli and company stop whatever it is and what is the Renn Faire... to find this and more go buy then read and review and stay turned to more Ghost Hackers and what will Eli's girlfriend do to him considering he never called or answered her calls

Call of the Wild is another great book in the Ghost Hackers series. I love that with each book you find out more about each character and about the world where the series takes place. I can't wait until the next book!
I received a copy of Call of the Wild: Ghost Hackers Book 3 in exchange for an honest review.
Out of all 3 Ghost Hackers books so far this one made me laugh the most. Crazy dogs and poltergeist. Things are coming to light but still keep you guessing. I can't wait for more of the craziness that is Eli and Khan.
Next installment of the Ghost Hackers series. Eli is still a big kid. Valentine and Khan are still just a little crazy. This time, there are poltergeists and miniature dogs. Good times had by all.
Oh Eli why is it always picking on you. :) I loved this one i think one of my fav out of the 3 books i cant wait for the next book and see the changes in Eli and the team grow
