We're asked to trust that what she writes in her journals is a true representation of her investigations. I would tend to believe her.

Ghost Hunting- The Gettysburg Files takes you to a place that is steeped with rich, interesting and somber stories of a time that our country endured great bloodshed. If only the spirits of the multitude of the dead could talk, what would they say? Johlene "Spooky" Riley attempts to answer that question by bringing these battered and broken souls back to life by sharing her private ghost hunting journals with us. There are eleven locations/chapters that she visits in this book and each one of them offers up ghostly stories that will keep you turning the pages until the very last page. In the Ghost Tour Headquarters for example, there is a little girl ghost who answers a request to play with her. She responds by tossing a ty-shirt to the floor. In the Civil War House: A Haunted Past it tells of how there are apartments in that particular building now, but it reminds the reader: "If an apartment sits empty in Gettysburg for any length of time there is usually a reason for it." Some of those reasons will have your hair standing on end. Johlene has had some very "spooky" and amazing experiences and even though she is an experienced investigator she has been scared on a few occasions. Gettysburg is certainly a place where a seasoned ghost hunter would want to travel to. Johlene Riley takes it a step further; she has lived there.

As a seasoned paranormal investigator, myself, I am always quick to say that I am always skeptical of stories about ghosts, but I am equally opened to the possibility of their being spirits that still wander the earth among us. The author asks us to trust that what she writes in her journals is a true representation of her investigations and I would tend to believe her. Her credibility is also enhanced when there are many others who have ventured into Gettysburg and have offered up similar stories of haunted battlefields and buildings. The Gettysburg Files also includes pictures that help to clarify and to add authenticity to the ghostly tales that the author tells.

If you are ever interested in going to Gettysburg just for the historic content of the place, please consider stopping into Gettysburg Ghost Tours and explore the possibilities that could be offered there. It might just open your eyes to another level of experience. I loved Ghost Hunting- The Gettysburg Files.

Who doesn't love a good spooky ghost store? Jolene "Spooky" Riley recounts the haunts and locations of Gettysburg with the feeling of a memior. Many of the places mentioned are well known tourist sites, while others are private property. The way "Spooky" recalls the events of past ghost hunt investigations, the reader feels like they are right there.

Some of the stories were Spooky in their own right. While other events were mixed with history and story telling. Interesting book to read to prepare for your own Gettysburg ghost tour or hunt.

Very interesting read. I've had many different experiences myself, so its always intrigued me to hear others stories. I've been to Gettysburg as well as other Civil War sites. The feeling you get is undeniably sad and excited at the same time when contacted by the spirits. Why they can't let go is the question.

I listened to this in audio as well and it was a bit better than the other I listened to At least she was more elaborate with her stories but the sound effects are still not necessary.

Picked this book up in the Gettysburg Ghost Tours gift shop when we were there last month and now I’m wishing I would have bought all three! A fun, short read.
