I learned about this book when the author had a book signing at our local independent bookseller, Warwick's. Although I didn't go to the event, it appeared on the calendar on the bookstore's website. The cover was so touching to me, I decided to order a copy.
This is a lovely children's book with wonderful illustrations (and some photos) that has a gentle message for those who might find it helpful. Lukas is a (real) sweet, terrier mix who develops a health issue and has to be be brave to overcome it (good spoiler alert, Lukas does and does not pass away!).
This is a great children's book that can be given to a child who is working on overcoming their own health issues. Lukas is good friend who teaches them that bravery has its rewards! This book would make a good gift anytime of year.
