We Walked Through the Valley : Reflections on a Career as a a Hospice Nurse

Rate this book
We Walked Through the Valley, compassionately written by a now-retired hospice nurse, was created to introduce the concept of hospice care in plain language to both the patient and their families and friends. It encourages anyone considering a hospice journey as their end-of-life choice, and anyone wishing to serve as a Hospice caregiver, provider, or volunteer to look closely at hospice care and feel the special nature of this service. Hospice care jumps from concept to reality in a section called, "The Walk," where the author shares selected stories to highlight some unique hospice experiences.

amazing insights into the end of life

Sometimes you read a book with so much heart, written with love for humanity. This is one of those books.

It is not morbid, but offers a glimpse of what it’s like to do what few care to do - provide the needed comforts and support as life approaches its end. Read it to learn what hospice can do, if you are considering it. I’m not sure all hospice nurses are as amazing as Ken, but I hope so.
