I've been writing novels and short stories since I was a young teen. God has greatly impacted me, and I now desire to honor the Lord with my life and writing.
My stories can be read in several online and print publications, as well as three anthologies. My bestselling COIL Series include novels Dark Liaison, Book One; Dark Hearted, Book Two; Dark Rule, Book Three; and Dark Vessel, Book Four, and are available at most e-retailers, as are Jaguar Dusk, a Christian Special Forces novel, Sea Scribe, a Covert Christian Mission Suspense, and End Times Novel, God's Colonel. See my website for other novels and stories added often, including Dark Cover, COIL Book Five, to be out late 2014.
I offer free weekly Christian short stories, or serialized novels, my Author Reflections, and occasional challenges to the Christian Church on my Telbat's Tablet blog at http://ditelbat.com.
When I'm not writing, I'm very involved in Christian ministry. I've kept my home office in the NW U.S. where my assistant, Dee, lives and helps with my editing and writing needs.
My motto: There is no redemption without sacrifice.

A very good prequel to the COIL series! I really enjoyed seeing how COIL began and what Corban went through after becoming a Christian. It was interesting!
If you are thinking about reading this series, here's a great way to see if it is of interest, as the eBook is free and also it's a short read.
*I did not get this for review. I purchased a free copy on Amazon. As always, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.*
This is wonderfully written Christian suspense novel. I am mainly a romantic suspense girl but I really loved this book and plan on reading the entire series.
Interesting little introduction, good idea to do that in this series.
I like this little introduction. It was a good idea to make an introduction for this series. Now I’m ready to get onto the series. And by the way it was this little introduction and another one of David’s books that made me sign up and subscribe to David’s subscription. Now I enjoy getting his little newsletter and free downloads. I really think it is a good idea for David to write about the underground persecuted church. It is possible that anyone who thinks different, outside the norm, will face intense persecution in the near future. It seems that people are being asked to think collectively rather than in dividually nowadays.
Hang onto your hats! This is one intense end-times series.
Having started with the Last Dawn Trilogy, I didn't realize that there were several series within a larger series. Even without reading from this prequel forward, I had no problem getting caught up in the Last Dawn books.
I am definitely going to start here and keep reading as long as he keeps writing! He is one of the best authors of Christian fiction I have ever read.
Also, do yourself a favor and check out his short stories.
I have read all of the COIL series books. I started at the end series for some reason I don’t remember, then back tracked and read all the rest. Excellent story telling with Christian principles mixed in. God works circumstances out for his good and glory and the author illustrates that principle throughout very harrowing missions. I’m so glad I found D I Telbat !
Dark Edge by D.I. Telbat is the prequel to the COIL series. I was very intrigued when I read the summary of this series. If you like action packed drama and adventure, this book will do it for you! I love the fact that it's Christian based. I read it's compared to Jason Bourne and I think that's right. I can't wait to read the rest of the series!
It’s a pleasure reading Mr. Telbat’s books of Christian characters in dangerous situations. Holding tight to their faith. The scenes are well written and action packed. The protagonists are truly bad. As a Christian, I find the concept of the spirit of the Antichrist enfluencing people to be very real.
I enjoyed reading this action packed novel which is the first in a series of T.J. Galaxy's Christian books. He developed the characters and kept the plot going at a fast pace that helped to keep the reader anxious to know what would happen next.
This was a prequel very interesting, different from my usual. Looking forward to Book 1. It's nice to know I can leave this story open and not worry who might see it. Thank you for good clean entertainment.
This sets up characters and a commitment to cause all who believe in it. Excellent way to start a series. Draws you in which in turn you have to read on. The author captures what makes a person not want to put book down.
Having never read any of the COIL series before I found this to be the perfect prequel... Short, enticing, well written, and leaving me wanting to see what happens. Can't wait to dive into this Christian series.
I found the book to be OK. It was very short and seem to start in the middle of something. It had action, thrill, suspense, God, Christian behavior and changes that happens when you begins become a Christian.
As D.J.Telbet does so wonderfully, setting the stage for the COIL Series creates the desire to know more. I have read many of his books and have enjoyed them all.
I love this & I can't wait for more. I will be also leaving a review on Goodreads @ Amazon. And letting everyone know about it. So i gave it a 5 Stars.
Encouraged with the reading of this story. There are secrets in our government today, and we as Christians should be prepared for the activity of spiritual warfare.
Dark Edge Prequel by D.I. Telbat Read in 2016 on 8/31, and again on 11/14. It was ok. I still recommend it to Christians who enjoy thrillers and suspense novels in the genre of Robert Ludlum's Jason Borne or Lee Child's Jack Reacher. I felt no connection to any character. It is flagrantly Christian. Being a Christian myself I have no issues with Christian fiction. It was one reason I wanted to look at the book. But I'm also an extremely experienced reader. Lot's of Christian fiction is done well. The reader connects to characters, and it is not difficult to suspend disbelief with the plot. I deeply enjoyed This Present Darkness and Piercing the Darkness by Frank Peretti. Dark Edge is the Prequel to the COIL series where Corbin Dowler a retired CIA super agent turned Christian fails to perform a kill order after informing his superiors of his new Christian conversion and no longer wishing to do "wet work". This is where this short prequel begins.
Kenneth Whitlock is his "assignment". Whitlock is in love with a North Korean diplomat who is likely a spy. Corbin, with over 30 years experience , knows Whitlock is a low level agent who has no intelligence of value to anyone. Corbin is aware this is his "loyalty" test regarding his "no wet work" Christian conversion admission to his superiors. He knows his time is up if he does not kill Mr. Whitlock. If Whitlock is not dead by a certain time, there will be teams of agents commissioned to kill him.
From that point Corbin Dowler is on the run and will be hunted the rest of his life until he is dead. He must be convincing telling his wife he is leaving her. Love her or not, if they suspect he still loves her she will become a pawn in the effort eliminate him. Even before he can get on a plane to begin an escape one person has dead. I think the prequel was ok, and I've considered looking at the first book in the series, but I am not impressed. It is a prequel and while even prologues are often discouraged this one tells you the beginnings the COIL series. The COmission of International Laborers which takes its name from Luke 10:2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
Maybe the idea COIL thinks of themselves as laborers going forth into the harvest (of Christians) will make the idea of the series more interesting to some readers.
This review includes the eAudiobook narrated by Cameron Beierle and Published by Books in Motion. I often like to read and listen simultaneously. While I am not pleased to admit this, some of my displeasure of this book may have been affected by the reading by Cameron Beierle. The ebook is free everywhere and the eAudiobook is free at Books In Motion. If you are inclined to enjoy the audiobook, I recommend listening to the preview before downloading it. I have wanted to read a Telbat novel for so long now. I have bought all his novels since the first Coil novel was released in 2011 and have followed his newsletters since as well. All this has done is continually whet my appetite to read these, but having authors continually request me to review their work has meant that I have been unable to start until now. I decided that between Christmas and the New Year I would read a novel of my choosing, so hence this opportunity to read Dark Edge.
Dark Edge is a prequel to the COIL Series and it sets the stage for an exciting story that spans several books. I haven't read the others yet, but now that I read this I can't wait read the rest.
When CIA Agent Corban Dowler refuses to complete a task and kill the mark that the CIA has ordered him to, he becomes the hunted with a kill order placed on him. He flees to India and has to start his life anew. For her safety he even leaves his wife behind.
An intriguing start to a series, I can't wait to see what comes next in this series. If you like thrillers read this short story you'll be glad you did.
