~ COMING SUMMER 2025 ~ DO NOT FREAK OUT out over the Preorder Date. It is just a placeholder! HOMESTEADER HEARTH WITCH SERIES FINALE! (blurb coming soon!)
I had high to medium hopes for this one, but unfortunately this book did not deliver.
Starting off with THE PROPHESY when it should be THE PROPHECY, this book had more errors that could have been avoided with a good and thorough editor. This editor, not the author editing themselves, would have undoubtedly suggested to cut out a lot of the book, which would to me have made it a lot better.
Because: longer is not better in this case. A lot of new lore was added in this book 9(!) that was not needed for the main story. It seemed to have been needed as a start off point for a new series (which I shall not be reading), which almost saddened me as a loyal reader of this series. (I gave some books of HHW 5 stars.)
I am also surprised how stupid Meadow and her gang were at times. You are in strange fae lands, perhaps not eat / touch / use things before checking if it is OK? The “teehee, sorry not sorry” -levels used as a plot device were a bit too high for me.
A few moments reminded me of slut shaming in the previous books. Not wanting to show your collarbone and upper chest (not even close to your boobs!) to prove you do not have (evil henchman) tattoos there as oh noes you have to protect your modesty??? Please. This righteous morality is not needed at all and does not match with other behaviour. My spidey senses were tingling there.
Also I did not really like the mean meta nod to a “modern romantic fantasy book that included an ampersand in its trite title”. Yes, we all laugh at “something of something & something”-titles, but no need to act holier than thou over your peers. We do not bite the hand that feeds us.
The shadow daddy comments were cute, though, grey sweatpants for the win, and I liked the architect great-uncle reference.
The ending was satisfying in the sense of a finished story and tying up most loose ends.
I debated between 2 stars and 3 stars. Decided on 2.5 stars rounded down for length and wasted potential.
3.5 ⭐️ I love this series, but the last two books seemed to drag on for me. I'm sure a lot of the events/characters added in this book will play parts in her next series (which sounds like it will be interconnected), but they seemed superfluous to this story/series. Honestly, the last two books could probably have been shortened and made into one book. But I did really like the ending, and it was a satisfying wrap up to this series.
Twisting Twilight delivers a satisfying and magical finale to the Homesteader Hearth Witch series. With its blend of cozy rural fantasy, slow-burn romance, and high stakes involving demons, fae, and stolen bonds, Healy ties up threads in a way that feels both thrilling and heartfelt. The cast is lovable, the side quests are delightfully whimsical (hello, fairy cat and dragon chauffeur), and the emotional payoff is well earned. Fans of cottagecore with an edge will not want to miss this conclusion.

Let me start this review by saying, I have been so, unexpectedly, sucked into the Homesteader Witch Series. I read the first book, The Problem with Pixies, as a palate cleanser, something I could read in a day and move on with my other activities. Well let me tell you, that did NOT happen. I got so attached and invested in these characters and story lines, I think I binged most of the books in the series in a matter of a month.
Twisting Twilight was a stunning conclusion to this wild, epic cozy fantasy. It had action, it had intrigue, it had quests, it had Lumbersnacks. IT HAD ORGES. It had everything I could have wanted in this book, plus a little extra. The character development throughout the series has been truly incredible to watch but this book especially really showed a range of growth that had me cheering in my bed at 11:30pm.
This book is a chonker and It did take me a minute to get into the story. But, once I was in it, I was invested. It wrapped up several story lines beautifully, plus gave me a heartwarming conclusion I ABSOLUTELY needed.
I am truly sad to see this story come to an end, but over the moon that other things might be on the horizon within this world.

Oh thistle thorns, I have been SO excited for this book! I have adored this series so much and have been anxiously awaiting this final book, so when the ARC came up I couldn’t get signed up quick enough.
This book had a LOT to resolve and cover and boy did it deliver. I was so engaged in every step of the journey, and the character growth and challenges and themes of overcoming and growth were so beautifully done. The way this series started so cozy and enchanting and grew to be so much more in depth and heavier and higher stakes while still remaining true to its comforting cozy nature was done so well.
Also, the conclusion of the slowest of slow burns was so satisfying!
This book continues the series-long celebration of the beautifully simple things, of kindness and friendship and intention and the joy found in food and creatures and the small moments. It also celebrates growth and becoming and raising above challenges both external and internal. It was such a wonderful conclusion to this series and I am absolutely feral for more, I will read every single thing this author writes.
I devoured the first few books in this series. I waited, sometimes patiently, for successive books. I got angry with the author at the end of book 8 because I thought it was the last book and it wasn't. It also ended on a cliffhanger and I really hate that. I preordered this one and it arrived and sat for a while. I picked it up 3 days ago and started reading it in the afternoon. Went to bed around the halfway mark and read some more the next day. I quit reading when there was about 50 pages left. I was a little burned out on the story and just wanted it to end. I would have given up if my insatiable curiosity would let me, but alas, I had to know how it ended. Now i know, I'm done and I won't be reading more by this author. The story was very good but just not for me. If you like long drawn out stories with side jaunts and numerous characters, this author will make you very happy. However, if you're a "just get to the point already" type, know you're in for a lot of frustration with this author.
Note - the world building is spot on, the characters are 3 dimensional and the story arcs are rich. This was a very good story. It just wasn't for me.
I have been following this series from the beginning and watching the twists and turns. The tone and the scope has certainly changed -- from a lone witch trying to deal with difficult pixies on a farm to that witch fighting a high elf lord of beasts and a creeping plague in Fairyland.
This book was not as tight as some of the earlier ones. It definitely went into all sorts of side quests for party members and simply lost focus while wrapping up plot threads. That had me considering a 4-star review instead of 5-star.
But the characters are so delightful and their personal arcs are so engaging that I stuck with 5 stars.
And, yeah, the epilog sets up new stories to come.
I really enjoyed this as a ninth entry in the Witchy Romantic Rural Fantasy series, it had that mystery element that I enjoyed from the previous books. The characters were written perfectly for this type of book and from the other books I read from Kat Healy. It had that forbidden romance atmosphere that I was looking for and was hooked from the first page until the end. It had that shifter element that I wanted and was glad it worked well overall.

I absolutely love the complex universe she has woven together over 9 books. It started so simply - a girl in a cabin with pixies and a cat and transformed to so many layers characters and dimensions. My only regret was I wasn’t able to read this 3 months ago when I finished book 8. Take the time to read them all! She is a special world creator!.

Like the rest of the series, I loved it. This jumps straight in from the last book, so if it has been a minute, maybe do a quick review of the Filigree Key.
Fear not, the last page indicates the Redbud adventures are not over!
This is the last book in the series and I'm sad to see it come to an end. We get a satisfying conclusion and I will definitely miss all the characters that I've come to love.

Twisting Twilight Book 9 in the Homesteader Hearth Witch series by Kat Healy is the finale to this wonderful series, the ending is perfection and oh so satisfying. I highly recommend this series!.

Great characters, humor, romance and action all in one series! Well written and so fun to read and well devour. Keep writing Kat! I can’t wait for your next book!
I waited a while for this to release and you know how sometimes you think it won't live up to the standards you've set.... well this book exceeded ALL THE STANDARDS AND THAN SOME!!!! I loved every single chapter especially the ending 😛😛🔥🔥🔥!!
A satisfying wrap to this parricular adventure! I do wish I'd gone back and at least skimmed the previous book again- a lot happened in the second half and I missed a few relevant details.
I just love this series. The team work and bonding with friends into a team you can't seem to go on without. The twists and turns to be come triumphant.
It seemed like there were too many conflicts, which made the story drag on. I do like the new characters that were introduced, and the ending. And I look forward to the next series.
I loved this series. From the family drama to the friends that became family. The witch that has been held back all her life to the witch that comes into her power and some. The smoldering love story that I patiently (not) waited to finally happen. These books are easy reads but fun.

*I want to first say that I do not often feel so boldly about a book, but this one rubbed me the wrong way.* I decided to change my initial rating of this book after a few days of thinking. I am absolutely disappointed in this book. I have read this entire series and loved the whimsical storyline. However, this book was 95% walking around finding one mystical item and 5% acknowledging the the ending of this series The fact that it felt like a chore to read truly sucked. I wish that she would have spent another 6 months to a year refining this book before publishing.

4.5 ⭐️ This one was a little lengthier, but I loved all the adventures and side quests! Meadow really grew further into herself and her power and I was so glad she was reunited with her lumbersnack! I do wish the book was a little more balanced and we got more 'back in redbud' to the story
