Love the intergalactic dating show where humans couple up with aliens.

Indebted and desperate, I make the one decision I never dreamed I would. I’m giving up my privacy to be a contestant on a tacky reality dating show. I’m going for the free food, not to fall in love. After twenty days, I’ll shed a few fake tears and return home, ready to start fresh.

There’s only one problem. The show is being filmed on another planet, in another galaxy, and the male contestants are aliens.

Suddenly, I’m coupled up with Sorin, a seven-foot-tall farmer with scales and horns. He lives at the edge of civilized space, on a planet whose population is just him and his two brothers and where opportunities to find a bride are non-existent.

Until Love Galaxy. Until me.

His plan is simple. Convince me to stay beyond the twenty-day trial. Convince me to fall in love with him. And he’s prepared to use any tactic he can. Including studying human dating rituals. Including ‘practicing’ kissing.

But how can I stay, when it means not only giving up my home… But also my heart? On intergalactic TV.

3.5 rounded up
I liked the premise of this book with an intergalactic dating show, complete with abduction. Briar was occasionally TSTL. She was a good person who was jaded and in a desperate situation. Sorin was shy and kind. They made a cute couple, but I really wanted their love story to be less rushed. Also, I get that his parents did a good thing, but the life they left their sons was pretty fucked up.

Spice: 3/5

Triggers: abductions, violence, drugging, concussion, attempted murder, forced surveillance, fatphobia, parent disowning child (historical), death of sibling (historical), isolation, poverty, threat of eviction

Ever wished The Bachelor were an alien? What if instead of a rose, he gave you a bunch of alga valued on the galactic market? Sign me up :D This story was original, funny, sweet, and steamy! It's a unique twist on alien abduction and finding love in outer space. I enjoyed it from start to finish!

2.5/5 rounding up because its a new book

Unfortunately this was super bland and not very good. The beginning was a cringy mess, the feelings and plot were rushed like crazy, everything was bland and boring, nothing was developed. All telling and summarizing. The writing felt really juvenile. And the FMC was a weak pathetic mess. I started skimming after 45% and couldn't wait for it to be over. If this is a series I won't be reading the other brothers' books and I don't really recommend this.

Sadly, I think this might be 3 strikes in a row with this author. 2 books barely made 3 stars and 1 was a DNF. I think that means we should take some time apart :(

I think 3.5 ⭐️
I love this concept. Reality dating show with humans and aliens. Yes please.
I was really invested in this story and I devoured the first 2/3 of the book. It was a little insta, but I was here for it. The last third was not as great. I wanted more relationship development and I think there could have been more done to button up the story.

Love Galaxy de Carlotta Page Serie The Intergalactic Dating Show libro 1

Argumento:

Incluso practicando besos.

I liked the book, but I expected something a little different from the premise ;) Going in I thought it would be a rom-com, but it started with a pretty violent abduction and the dating show aspect very quickly got almost completely irrelevant, only the awkwardness from the cameras installed everywhere remained.
Briar lost her job and was on her way to homelessness when she signed up to be a contestant on some reality TV dating show. She thought she would have to spend 20 days on a remote farm somewhere in Australia, and then could go back to trying to fix her life. She didn't expect to be bludgeoned after she signed the contract. Then she woke up and found herself on an alien planet with a huge, but gentle alien trying to help her.
Sorin was one of three brothers that signed up for the Love Galaxy. He and his younger brother hoped for a mate, but their eldest only agreed to have an opportunity to promote their farm. Sorin was painfully awkward and shy, but also very passionate and sure of his feelings. He was a sweetheart, he knew that he wanted to be with Briar, but didn't want to pressure her to stay.
I liked their interactions, they were very cute together, but the relationship felt rushed and a bit too much was just skipped but a short summary of what they've been doing. If the book was 10-20 pages longer their relationship would feel more real ;)

Great!

I really enjoyed this story. I mean, there wasn't any "actual" farming (more groping each other in secret), and the "dating show" wasn't "really" like a dating show (more just being pissed off at the director and his maybe human sidekick) and the most drama was the kidnappings, one not even actually being a real kidnapping since she already knew she was going to be leaving and signed a paper without even reading it. The only thing she didn't know about was that the "dating show" wasn't on Earth. She was kinda annoying in my opinion, but she had her reasons. I did absolutely hate Chloe (the maybe human sidekick. Pretty sure at one point it said she had "clawed fingers" instead of sharp nails and was somehow much stronger than people bigger than her, as well as having the magical ability to run on sand in heels.)
It was definitely a slow burn, since while they groped through the whole thing, they didn't actually do the deed at the end. And I mean THE END as in, there is nothing after that. No epilogue so I'm assuming that will be addressed in the next book(s). And the spice was pretty good, so I'll definitely be back.

I had fun with this. Picked it up from the indie bookstore near me (I FINALLY HAVE AN INDIE BOOKSTORE NEAR ME!!) and I love supporting an Australian author - especially bc our country only likes to support 'clean' genres - I'm so sorry Albo, we don't need another Outback Mystery Author or Cop Thriller. But it was really fun to see an Australian Character that wasn't just some ginger hunk that speaks funny and rides a sled attached to 6 kangaroos and actually relate heavy to the little Aussie references (Eight dollar best & less sweater I am looking at you!)

The story was...nuts. Telenovela inspirations, because doesn't reality TV already have hella drama? No, we have to make it more shady than the first shows the 2000s pumped out. I'm so excited to see how deep this corruption goes, and just how Mr. Smith is getting away with this bullshit!

Final Notes, there was bush rep divas.

(and that internal alien junk that gets tucked away in their scaly crotch pouches! idk what it's called but I fuck with that shit heavy)

In real life I find reality TV dating shows unwatchable. They just depict everything wrong in humans. But this set-up didn't portray women/ men that want to get famous by doing strange stuff in front of a camera or just by being on the show. While the FMC isn't in it to find love she still doesn't have any obnoxious intentions. She just wants to survive.
I wish this would have been like 100 pages longer. I felt like the relationship developed quite quickly for starting as an alien abduction for the FMC.
Also, I think that there should have been overhead conversations or POVs showing the people behind the dating show's intention. The last plot action came a bit abruptly and did not fully make sense for the hosts of the dating show to do.

If you encounter me today and I am tired and grumpy, you have Carlotta Page to blame! I woke up at 2:45 am and struggled to get back to sleep so I decided I would start this book and read a few minutes until I was ready to fall back asleep but, that was my first mistake of the day. My brain was abducted by Briar and Sorin and I finished the entire book before getting ready for work!
Body of scales and a heart of gold! Sorin, what a sweetheart! And Briar is the perfect feisty FMC ready to take on anyone, human or otherwise, that tries to take away her freedom. Thank you Carlotta Page for an ARC!

"I've got a sneaking suspicion Sorin's going to be one of those men who think it's their natural born right to suffer sleeping on the hard floor in favor of gifting the bed to the 'delicate' woman. But I'm not a maiden in need of saving. At least not in this instance."

I saw the cover of this book and knew I had to read it. And the story is just as fun and sweet as I was hoping it would be! I enjoyed every moment of this book. Sorin is such a sweetheart. I loved seeing him get so flustered around Briar. He had me giggling and kicking my feet so many times.

I volunteer to be the next contestant on Love Galaxy! Can't wait for Roan and Killan's books!

This was somewhere between 3.5 & 4 stars for me. I absolutely loved the whole concept of the dating show, even if it was due to corrupted individuals who kidnapped innocent, unsuspecting humans. Sorin and Briar were both very likeable characters, tossed into a pickle of situation that brought to light their attraction for one another. I also really enjoyed all of the side characters in this book! My only complaint is that the pacing was a little bit slow at times, which made it hard to push through at certain points. That said, this was a good story and an overall great idea! I think it just needed tweaked a little more.

Alien reality dating show? Where’s the contract? Sign me up! From the moment I read the blurb I knew I had to pick this up! I’m a moment of desperation Briar signs up for a reality dating show, but they didn’t tell her it would be on an alien planet with three alien brothers as contestants. Sorin is such a sweet MMC and a little awkward, which made for some adorable moments. I can’t wait to read Roan and Killian’s books when they release!

Cute and fluffy, an alien abduction take on a dating reality show. Pretty tightly focused on Briar and Sorin and their relationship, so there's not a lot of info about the wider galaxy that watches this dating show, or how the producers are explaining the presence of a supposedly off-limits species? I get the feeling those will come in the third book, between the grumpy eldest brother and the woman who's determined not to stay.

So I am a sucker for trash reality tv. It’s my worst trait. So when you mix that with a monster romance? Bloody sold.

I do wish this had more of a plot, I loved the setup and characters. The banter wasn’t cheesy at all, she really is a good writer.

One to the rest of her books 🙃

This is such a gorgeous alien romance.

Fantastic storyline and such a fun concept. I would have never thought of an alien dating show.

Anyway, this is super cute. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.
