When a mysterious eclipse blankets the realm of Lunaris, plunging the land into eternal twilight, Princess Lyra from the kingdom of Sun, must forge an alliance with Prince Caelum from the kingdom of Shadows. Bound by an ancient prophecy, their marriage is believed to be the key to restore balance, but neither can escape the tensions between their worlds, nor the growing bond between them.
As an ancient evil stirs, threatening to tear the realm apart, Lyra and Caelum are drawn into a perilous war. But their greatest challenge may not be the darkness rising around them, but the darkness within.
With their fates entwined, will they embrace the power that binds them, or will it consume everything they hold dear?
5⭐️’s Wow. This book!!!! I don’t know what I was expecting but I was not expecting to be as obsessed with this as I was. It was incredible, the story flowed so well and it was paced really well. I absolutely fell in love with the FMC and MMC, they are perfectly crafted for each other. I loved the celestial feel of this book and found the plot lines to be super intriguing! It is such a beautiful yet dark story and the ending left me staring at the wall. Sign me up for book 2, I needed it yesterday!!!!
Thank you to the author for adding me to the ARC team, I thoroughly enjoyed this🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
Yey, I am the first to review this! 😆Although, I may not be completely objective because I beta read this for Silla. As I said to her, I am giving it 4.5 stars (which are 5 stars mathematically speaking) only because of the ending. I got angry and sad at the ending, but definitely excited for the next book in the series. I love the symbolism of names in the book, the whole world is so magical. The descriptions are beautiful and when describing Lyra's dresses it inspired me to draw them (still haven't done it, but just can't stop imagining how beautiful it would turn out based on the description of it).
I love the relationship Lyra and Caelum have and the fact that heir first time is described as a true love making. It is an explicit scene, but written so carefully and with taste. I can only say 'Congratulations!' and be excited for more.
I received this an arc and I’m thrilled that I did! I cannot wait for the next book! Ugh the end has me gutted and NEED to know what happens like tomorrow!!!
It took me about a day to read this book...it was so good. The characters, the world-building, the battle scenes, the threat to Solaris and Nocturne, the slow-burn romance between the main characters...I was hooked. This is one of those books that doesn't come around very often and I am so happy I was provided the opportunity to read it before it's released to the masses. The plot was consistent throughout and there is good set up for book 2. The only thing I wish there was more of, was the villain's background and why he is the way that he is. Overall, for a debut novel, it's a 5/5 for me. I can't wait for the second book to be announced.
Disclaimer: I received an eARC directly from the author. All opinions are my own.
Veil of Stars by Silla Mateus is a beautifully written fantasy full of mystery, romance, and danger. From the very first page, the story pulls you into a world filled with magic, secrets, and a heroine determined to uncover the truth about herself and the world she lives in.
Silla Mateus does an amazing job creating a rich, atmospheric setting that feels both otherworldly and real. The characters are layered and complex, especially the main character, who struggles with trust, destiny, and finding her own strength. The romance adds emotional depth without taking away from the action or the plot.
The pacing slows a bit in the middle, but the tension and world-building make up for it. The story’s mix of adventure, emotion, and intrigue keeps you turning pages to see what happens next.
Overall, Veil of Stars is a captivating fantasy full of heart and imagination. It’s perfect for readers who love strong heroines, slow-burn romance, and worlds that shimmer with magic and secrets. A solid 4-star read! 🌙
