This omnibus includes books seven, eight and nine of the Mortis Vampire Series.
Death Returns:
With most of the Viltarans now dead, Natalie Pierce and her small band of friends must find a way to return home. It will be up to them to stop their remaining enemies from turning Earth into a ruined wasteland.
Once more, Nat must come to the rescue of the very species that she has begun to loathe. Even worse, she will come face to face with the man who betrayed her and all but destroyed her kind. She might not have control of her own destiny but Nat would be the one to decide the fate of her betrayer.
Death Conquers:
Grieving for Luc, Natalie Pierce is forced by fate to once more come to the rescue of the human race. Her new aquatic adversaries are far more dangerous than anything she has ever encountered before and she needs all the assistance she can find to take them down.
Nat must take steps she never thought were possible to combat the rising menace. Her conscience is torn between her personal morals and her role as Mortis. Her job is to safeguard the humans, but at what cost to herself?
Death Reigns:
Natalie and her friends have saved Earth and its inhabitants from vampire, clone and alien invasions, yet their task still isn't finished. She and her small army of vampires must eradicate yet another undead horde. Her dreams have given her hints and clues about their new enemies, but they are still largely a mystery.
Nat has been advised by Fate itself that the new undead creatures are only part of the final task that she must face. The greatest threat to humanity still awaits. This time, she must conquer it alone. The ordeals that Natalie has suffered in the past have given her the power to overcome this new and final menace, if only she can figure out how to utilize her talents to their fullest.
I began reading horror and paranormal books when most girls my age were still reading fairy stories. I always dreamed that one day I would be able to write stories that readers could become lost in.
The Mortis, Shifter Squad, Hellscourge and Fate's Warriors series are connected, but can be read as stand alone series. The overarching theme about Fate's chosen champions will come to an end with my fifth series; Loki's Exile.
My sixth series, Hunter Elite, begins a new saga with the seventh series, Half Fae Hunter, as a spin off.

I hate to see the series end, but it was done so, leaving no loose ends. I've read the entire nine-book series in a span of a week, enjoying every moment. The author brought the characters to life, each having their own distinct personalities, making you fall in love with them. I laughed, cried, jumped and rallied alongside them in their triumphs and defeats. This series is truly one to be read again and again. I loved it! Five-star, must-read books beginning with book one.
Was a good ending and I liked that it was unique, even laughed at some moments. Good characters, good world building, steamy, unpredictable, terror, action and some romance. Still on the short side being so could have done with more detail and the main character sort of irked me not figuring out what she knew she could already do. Other then that it was a good read.
This series was so good!!! I laughed and cried through this book and stayed up late reading till I couldn’t keep my eyes open. The characters I fell in love with and the storyline is different from most vampire books and is now one of my favorite series. Totally worth the money.
Lots of battles in these 3 books, but it ended wonderfully. It made me feel good inside. I loved this series because of all the action, the storyline, and the characters.
These last three books were very climatic and the last one was the best. This is the first series I have read that has kept me wanting to finish the series. J.C. Diem is a great author. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
So I finished the series! and just like the shifter squad I could not put it down.. I did wish the ending was kind of different more final but I know that after Hellscourge the 3 Main leading ladies will come together to fight an ultimate foe, so I will wait patiently (like I can) for the books of Hellscourge to come out.. probably waiting until the last book so I can binge read.. cliffy's annoy me .. and then up to probably what is the final one in the whole book series!
What I would have loved or love to see and is not possible for vampires is that Nat en Luc get a little family of there own... Luc would make great daddy and Nat a great mom.. lets just hope considering she is touched with Fate something beautiful will happen for them..
after reading this one I am itching to start reading the shifter squad again.. In both books the Family feeling they have is so enjoyable to read not to mention funny.. I am glad that Igor and Geordie found someone to love again even though much was not mentioned on that part.
If you'd outlined the premise of this series to me before I read them, I never would've picked it up. I tested the theory on my husband by giving him a short summary. He agreed with me that it sounded to fantastical, even for the genre. That being said, it was written in such a way that I used every spare moment to read every book back to back in about a week's time. I couldn't put them down! I forgot to sleep and eat on several occasions. I thoroughly enjoyed each book and even as far fetched as the events seem strung together in a synapsis, the author made it work in a surprising way and breathed new life into a genre that has plot lines heavily repeated. Highly recommended.
These last books brought the reader through a tumultuous journey that became intense and then concluded perfectly. The Mortis and her friends fought many battles together and became closer to one another. I loved the new additions to the family, it just made the "family" complete. This was a fun and very unique (body parts detaching and reattached itself and more anomalies), series. I am sorry to see it end, I really felt as if I really knew the characters themselves and will be losing friends at the closure of this book. Thanks J.C. Diem you did it again!
For an overall rating I deem books 7-9 as a five star. The author does not disappoint in the ability to maintain the readers interest, keep the characters on their toes, build the characters relationships into something stronger as each series continue, and justice was served as it should be. I would recommend this whole series as a read.
